I got my Kirby avalir 2 about 2 weeks ago from a door to door sale. I am not a vacuum collector or anything like that but I have always loved vacuums and cleaning floors well since I was a kid (idk I just need clean floors I’m very particular about my floors) and well I do not regret it. It makes cleaning easy and i feel like my floors and couches have never been cleaner!

Best investment you will ever make , I bought my G4 New from Kirby in 1994 and it still runs like new . Saved me a fortune over the years in furnishings and cheap plastic made vacuums. Once you have a kirby, it's hard for it to clean poorly unless you really abuse it

You don’t have to , you can just do basic service yourself. I have a 5 min Kirby service video , just things to check if you clean brushroll free of hair , check belt and bag are fine you should be good.👍 🔔

I did not think the suction loss was to bad considering.--- You know I have never rolled the belt off when the vac is not in use and I have never had any problems, maybe because my carpet is real low pile like you see in restaurants, it's glued right to the floor with no padding. I have this type of carpet because I also have German Shepherds and learned in the 70's that unless you want your furniture rearranged every day you don't have hard floors and big dogs. The dogs can't get a grip and when they play they slide across the floor into whatever is there and push it against the wall... My GSD's are short haired and I never see hair twisted around the roller, I do see dental floss that I use several times a day and sometimes in gets off the desk and on to the floor before I can throw it out... I have three working Kirby's and all three have the belt on, plus I have robot vacs are are used daily so my Kirby's don't see the use they once did, however I still use them because the robot vacs don't do near the job of a kirby. I would not have robot vacs if my knees were not shot and I could walk easier...

My Kirby Sentria has lost suction and the led has stopped working. I'm going to try and fix it.

The Led will need replacement board as the pcbs are cheap and blow , I have video with tutorial and link in the description of where to get the Led board . The early Sentria boards are different to the 2011 Sentria upto the Avalir 2 . The headlight holder is completely different. Have you checked all The tips I share for suction

Hi thanks for great help thus far. Checked roller is set on right notch (#1 for now) but belt still stressing. Think it may be belt lifting or running right at tip of spindle, half on half off. Sometimes flying right off. How can I adjust it/lift it on to run in centre? This is an old Kirby G4e model. Could be roller incorrect 'cause I notice the magnet is on opposite side of magnetic pick up for light fitting to indicate if roller stops or is hindered.

Magnet should be on the side with the pick up sensor . You can pull end caps off the roller and fit on opposite sides that may be what has been done . If not check that the roller is not a newer one meant for G5 onwards . Also you would have to fit new belt as belt will be stretch to position 3 now . Have you checked the brushroll distance past the rug plate should be no more than 3mm or 1/8th of inch
