i think that the deal with real devil is that he has a lot of muscle memory based on game state. There isnt much thinking put into the moves, it feels like he is reacting to what is on the screen via muscle memory. This guy probably played a fuckton of games to get to this level.

my guy...what you are saying is true, sure. But you don't get to clap Knee's ass cheeks only because you play games for too long...or going to practice mode and react to the same moves over and over for hundred of hours. Guy has legit skills harvested over time and that sums up everthying...really...nothing more to add. There's a reason why we heard about this guy now and not 12 years ago. You don't get that skills over night. Good for him, good por kazu players too.

Yeah you definitely see him auto mode/default to specific habits and sequences regardless of prior outcome. It's only really stoppable if you are too predictable and he skirts that line extremely well and was able to start mixing it up when he started to get read. If not for the matchup disparity he was doing well it just sucks that he couldn't effectively use some of his mix in that particular matchup which was ultimately his undoing.
@Saskaruto16

@@maximilianoalcaraz7351 He does clearly have some specific auto mode/default patterns he does though, more than you see for most pros at that level. He's clearly an extremely reaction based player who favors high risk/reward mix/whiff punish game, but sacrifices a lot of the "top player" neutral we are used to seeing, likely from his less tournament specific experience. But it also gives him an advantage in that his unique mixups and risk taking throws a lot of pros off because they just aren't expecting that amount of risk from a player on their level, and just when they start to catch on he adds more mix with even more risk.

@@maximilianoalcaraz7351 I do feel like he plays heavily in the moment and not much gameplans. He was playing over aggressively 1st game, Ulsan switched to Kazumi to deal with it and Realdevil still played aggressively didn't play safe even after Kazuya pick and lost that match, afterward he was hesitating, df2 start of the match, hellsweep to ff4 like 5 times. Ulsan definitely adapted to his habits

Not only Knee, but also several famous players such as Meo-il, Ulsan, and Malgu all suspected him, and after that, Real Devil and Knee met offline(Knee's studio) and played ft20 Kazuya mirror. I just saw Knee vs Real_Devil FT20 mirror. Knee won lots of no round browns. All these do is make Knee prove over and over that he is the best Kazuya and make him play the character more. I'm still surprised how Knee wins Boa but TMM calls Boa the #1 Kazuya player. Out of the blue, TMM switches to Real_Devil. Knee wins Real_Devil by wide margin, but still not called #1 Kazuya player by TMM. On the other hand, TMM jumps on Boa and Real_Devil bandwagons the moment he learns they exist. TMM knows Knee much longer, Knee beats both of them, TMM still trying to find someone else to call the #1 Kazuya player. This bias is quite unnatural.

Apparently Knee played Real_Devil offline with new computer and installation. Knee won 20-13 (Kazuya mirror), then Knee won 10-7 (Devil Jin). Knee believed Real Devil's reaction/execution is real. Personally, I'd be more relieved if Real Devil won, because the situation now is still he went from schooling Knee online to getting a beat down offline (I know this doesn't mean he was cheating but would be better if he could replicate the results). It seems like his reaction/execution was much better online based on the lopsided score offline. Knee confirmed Real_Devil can react, but my worry is still reacting to CPU and normies is different from reacting to top players. What if skilled players semi-cheat online? they can always prove their skills offline (but it's a debate if it's really (complete) proof if they lose offline, or semi-proven). There's so many online tournaments now, so it worries me if skilled players can't turn on a little bit of cheat. I'll still give Real Devil the benefit of the doubt now, but I'll be sus again if he gets god mode reaction/execution online again. I mean just turning on macros could help him react better against top players. He can always prove it offline (which is why it'd be better if he actually beat knee in the test instead of losing 20-13. On an unrelated note, I read that Real_Devil got banned in ATL Day 2 for insults and creepy incest remarks by saying Nina looks like his opponents daughter and his opponent used Nina.

The idea that somebody has to be cheating because execution is too good is kinda funny for me coming from the SSBM competitive scene. There are people there who will consistently do things that are a lot harder to execute, faster, and more often with what i would consider a shittier peripheral set up than anything in Tekken. Speedrunners also do some extremely crazy things you wouldnt think possible consistently. We’re talking unintentional things extremely hard to execute on cause theyre not even supposed to be mechanics. I get cause its online its a lot more sus, but knee shouldve been way more humble here and rather than being salty about potentially not being the best kazuya in the world(which really who cares hes like the best other over half the roster in the world). Glad he apologized though
@denali1566
@denali1566 Жыл бұрын
Interesting take, I also dabble in Smash(Ultimate, I haven't been enlightened enough for Melee since puberty), and I feel that much of the execution is created artificially, like a button that turns you around instantly and could be used once in air would make RARs a basic tool for everyone and help with b-reverse privilege, but instead they don't even have enough functions to map to the buttons on a normal controller. On the other hand, when I first started watching speedrunning, I didn't understand why a 2 frame trick would be that hard coming from sf4 where 2 frame links are considered consistently doable.
@bludika
@bludika Жыл бұрын
it's because it's so fucking easy to cheat in Tekken PC version, knee and many pros have encountered so many macro and cheaters online over the last 6-7 years, that's why when someone's execution is too good, it can look suspicious.
@Viewer13128
@Viewer13128 Жыл бұрын
well, it's kinda different. Example is (1) execution while catching your opponent (e.g., TJU) VS (2) just execution (e.g., akuma combo). For (2), once you start the combo, you simply go through muscle memory like a script. There is no difficulty change due to trying to catch top opponents. For (1), using high execution is very different in a 3D game against top vs normal players. Example is how LowHigh can catch many ppl with TJU, but cannot catch Knee with TJU. This is different from (2) because TJU require high execution and it's the 1st hit, so you are moving 3D trying to catch a player better at moving than you (and you can get caught instead). I believe SSBM is 2D or 2.5D at most. so it's probably different. And yes, like Bludika said, when playing online, someone suddenly has so-so movement, but top execution. You'd just naturally think it's another cheater again.

Update: So apparently Knee did play Real_Devil offline with new computer and installation. Knee won 20-13 (Kazuya mirror), then Knee won 10-7 (Devil Jin). Conclusion was Knee believed Real Devil's reaction/execution is real. Personally, I'd be more relieved if Real Devil won, because the situation now is still he went from schooling Knee online to getting a beat down offline (I know this doesn't mean he was cheating but would be better if he could replicate the results). So Knee confirmed Real_Devil can react, but my worry is still reacting to CPU and normies is different from reacting to top players. What if skilled players semi-cheat online? they can always prove their skills offline. There's so many online tournaments now it worries me. I'll still give Real Devil the benefit of the doubt now, but it certainly seems he doesn't have god mode reaction in the offline match, so I'd be really sus if he gets god mode reaction online again. Side Note: Apparently, Real_Devil got banned in ATL Day 2 for insults and creepy incest remarks by saying Nina looks like his opponents daughter and his opponent used Nina. Original comment: Note it's not decided that Real Devil didn't cheat in the Korean community yet, as he recently played offline and his playstyle was completely different, not doing his high execution. I am sure Real Devil is an amazing player, but we know skilled players can still cheat occasionally. Also note that the Korean community does know him. He's just never won anything local for some reason. Knee apologized because there is a chance Real Devil is not cheating, given how much Real Devil defended himself. What should happen is that Knee should take up Real Devil's offer to test him offline. Swap controllers, set up the game himself, to make sure he's 100% clean. Make sure Real Devil isn't bluffing. This is the best option because Real Devil is the one who suggested to play offline. Example: Real Devil does have that execution, but it's actually not that consistent. He can make a macro and sometimes turn it on, thinking that he can do it anyway, so why not cheat a bit sometimes (just offering reasons why real skilled players can still think of cheating sometimes). Remember Real Devil has gone to tournaments but never won. And it's weird how he can fight the entire cast but says he just can't fight DLC characters. Like playing Tekken for over 10 years, and he can't adapt to any DLC character? This makes recording himself as proof easy, because he can do it. Think how LowHigh can do TJU to other players, but has hard time doing it to top players (LowHigh can turn on TJU macro against Knee, then turn off TJU macro against other players, thus proving he can do it). If Real Devil does have the execution, he can easily defend himself because he can do them. So we actually need him to play Knee offline regardless cause the footage of his execution isn't 100% foolproof. Imo, since the situation is so weird, and he offered to play offline with Knee, then that's the perfect solution to clear everything.

Do you know what type of controller does Real_Devil use? To me, his EWGF execution is not out of ordinary at all, his execution looks similar to PlantedMedusa's which is totally human doable. On another hand, Novi keyboard kid's execution is much more sus, insanely fast wave dash and consistent 4 EWGF combos, but he is on keyboard. Also, playing online with keyboard, you can set additional Player2's attack 2 input to the same hand as your movement hand and easily do 100% EWGF similar to Crossup setup.
@Saskaruto16
@Saskaruto16 Жыл бұрын
@@sbilly17 Playing on keyboard/hitbox/mixbox makes things extremely easy. Yeah you have the 2 player cheat thing on keyboard or crossup. But even just with 1p controls on something like a hitbox players can easily and consistently do things that are just not possible unless you are a pro on a fightstick. I haven't played a ton of Tekken, only started watching a while into T7. (I have played a lot of fighters just not Tekken). On fightstick or pad I can't do electric consistently at all. 75% normally and probably 50% at best under stress. On a hitbox though I can get over 90% even under stress because it's the exact same finger motion timing every single time. On something like a crossup or 2P keyboard cheat, over 95% is easy and I would doubt anyone who practiced on those would drop more than 1 in 100 tries or even less.
@brandonscott5435
@brandonscott5435 Жыл бұрын
@@sbilly17 I played on keyboard for 3 years and novi seems perfectly legit, wave dashing is very simple on keyboard and the only 2 factors that determine wave dash speed on a keyboard is finger dexterity and using low actuation key switches, as for the electrics those aren't hard either. it's literally just pressing foward and 2 at the same time
@sbilly17
@sbilly17 Жыл бұрын
@@brandonscott5435 I've seen Novi's handcam for wavedash on his twitch, he uses right hand on the arrow key setup and make those fast wavedash possible. His wave dash is the fastest I've seen so far, even Devilster mixbox/keyboard user or CBM wrist flick light-dash still don't have that fast of the speed where Kazuya Character stay upright during wavu like that. The sketchy thing about Novi is his EWGF, instant WS 2/1+2 consistency from superfast wavu, and 4 EWGF combo. Using right hand arrow key setup mean that he probably use the Cross Up keyboard set up on the left side of the keyboard tho.
@sbilly17
@sbilly17 Жыл бұрын
@@Saskaruto16 Yea, It's easy to do, that why if Real_Devil use Crossup or Keyboard then I wouldn't see surprise from those EWGF consistency. But also I think the definition of "Cheat" can vary from person to person. If the Player2 additional buttons setup is considered "Cheat" by the dev, then it probably wouldn't be in the game. From the dev perspective, they probably don't consider an ability to "press 3 buttons at the same frame" reliably a cheat. But again, there are a lot of Kazuya mains that take decade to perfect and brag about the skill to press 3 buttons at the same frame reliably lol. To me, an external software like Macros that tinker with the controller input sending to the game is clearly a cheat. But I find Keyboard/Mixbox or even Crossup perfectly fine, it's just a controller set up that make it easier to press 3 buttons at the same frame easier by allowing one hand to press them. There's no rule that say "All Kazuya, Jin, DJ, Heihachi players need to only do electric with 2 separate hand" lol. But Player2 Keyboard setup is a bit of a gray area since it only work Online and not with offline setup, but it's built-in to the game, so it's probably not unintended behavior from the dev POV.

some of those pokes are probably traps too and tourneys do get kinda stale when everybody plays all safe...does get boring sometimes so i would welcome any type of unorthodox player. Playing as Kazuya too interesting.

i've been saying this for the longest time. just because youre the top player in the game, it doesn't mean that there's no one out there can beat you. top players cant accept that. not only in tekken. i see a lot on FPS streamers (jackfragz, dr. disrespect), if they get killed by an almost impossible shot, they assume the other person is cheating. just accept that sometimes, there are players out there that are better than you.
@welsh_steel2285
@welsh_steel2285 Жыл бұрын
These "better players" haven't proved nothing yet or haven't had a good few tournaments in their competitive careers. Consistent performance proves who's better. Anyone can get beaten, it's the nature of a proper competitive game, Knee had every reason to accuse this person of cheating as that level of commitment towards Kazuya is frighteningly obsessive.

Honestly, it's Bamco's fault on this one. The anti cheat in Tekken is so dogshit that if someone nobody has heard of is starting to make waves, it's more likely they're cheating than they are that good.

just to set the record straight, knee is still the better player. knee beat him 20-13 in Kazuya mirror afterward and there were a lot of 3-0 rounds by knee. Knee was also doing moves to test/verify that he's legit, so score could've been wider. but i think you misunderstand the tekken top players here. top players including knee have lost online before to worse players and they don't call cheat. in this case, Real_Devil's playstyle had red flags and they run into cheaters often. in this case, knee observed the red flags + poor movement below expectations, which turned into a bigger red flag. you're misunderstanding by thinking the korean players just accuse ppl for beating them. at least im not aware of them doing that, and definitely in this case, it was the unusual red flags. I think TMM is just causing misunderstanding by calling every new Kazuya player discovery the new "Kazuya God". In Knee's perspective, Real_Devil didn't look good due to poor movement. He simply looked sus cause his movement was below expectations.

Read something from an actual Korean. What was of note worthy, was that when the dude was playing offline tekken, he couldn't perform as well. -This was coming from a guy who said he could react to 1,1's... saying he could duck the 2nd 1 and punish. When he agreed to play offline, he won some rounds against the pros, but he didn't win any sets at all. One of the statements that he made, is that he can block Bryan's follow-ups from df2 without fuzzy guarding. Yet when he played (offline) against lowhigh who was using Bryan, he couldn't back up what he said ^. So yeah. No "hard" evidence that he's cheating, but I think the people in the Korean scene pretty much are in agreement that he's some sort of cheat.
@ITRiBUTEI

Not saying he is or isn't , but you see in online tournaments ppl performing better than offline because they're playing in their own comfort environment Same happened in league when cov19 lockdowns I think there's just something about playing in an environment you're comfortable in as apposed to offline

I'm not trying to defending him but I guess I am, but I think it's perfectly understandable because of the offline nerves that people can get. I don't know if he's cheating or not but we'll see.
@sbilly17

Also note that when you actually play online, the pace of the match can be much slower than offline since the nature of the lockstep net code will make sure that there's longer delay between frame to wait for the online input to be delivered. So he might be able to react to those follow up when he plays online, but not during offline session.
@Viewer13128

since ppl making excuse for offline, let me also say that real skilled players can semi-cheat online at home, as easy as using a mod. The thrill/temptation/ease exists regardless of skill. Wealthy ppl steal but claim they won't cause they're rich. Skilled players cheat at speedruns but claim they didn't because they're good. We've seen countless examples of these. It is 100% easy for a skilled player to cheat, then claim to prove their skills if they get called out. No matter what, his offline play is still sus at the end of the day. he demonstrated execution, but the consistency/win-rate is much lower than online. So excuses can't just go one way. If he failed to perform offline to back up his claim, why does he get a free pass when it could very well be any cheater's backup excuse (to do some executions offline). The example I like to use is LowHigh able to land TJU on weaker player easier. he can't land them on top players though. So what if one day LowHigh lands all his TJU on Knee/Arslan? That would be sus right? Then LowHigh will just record himself doing TJU and suddenly we turn dumb and stop suspecting? obviously LowHigh has to go offline, fresh install, new computer, and "use TJU just as consistently on Knee/Arslan and win". The whole thing becomes dubious if his consistency tanks when we test him (cause then what's the point of the test?). In this case, it seems some ppl are giving Real_Devil a free pass for performing worse offline, for free.
@estoylaroca
@estoylaroca Жыл бұрын
@@Viewer13128 The only "real" excuse is nerves compared to online vs offline. But it shouldn't mean a big difference in skill when comparing the same player offline vs online. There's a reason why he was trying to prove himself in an offline setting, it's because that's the only way you can say you're legit. I mean lastly, like come on, there's must be a reason why all competition is offline tournament... it only went online bc it was literally impossible to do offline. But as soon as covid restrictions were relaxed, they went back to offline for any major tournament.

I totally agreed. I watched those micro ducks with slomos They were frame perfects. Not any other human on the earth works on wavo-insane micro ducks, because its not even possible. Forget about for just one moment why does knee initially states these things about him. That mans whole life spend while holding this stick, he knows every dimensions that till day is possible. There is difference between can do it & cannot do it (impossible). Brother knee warned is at first glance. Then apologize was only for lazy culprits. Who know just move lists and 70 combo damage. Who know Tekken is all about how to Push someone to wall know knee's statement. If that man was there so long. Why pulling strings while at the end of T7 ERRA. Then how can be so hardcore. Just ignore these melodies, find some tournament for Real Devil. While he sit in front of 2 eyed people and 1 eye camera. Everything will be disclosed. Btw lots of love TMM From Pakistan.
