Thank you Thea. I'm confident the KST servos will perform exceptionally well in the big beautiful plane I put them in.

Thank you! Too KST as well, otherwise this would not have happend. I do love all your technical video goodness As I mentioned in a comment, the electric power is not necceseraly a problem (wires get burned trough eventually), but the physical power is almost scary. I was saved by an amp limiter, I would recommend that with these and other setups ** rather power off than burn **

Hi,thanks to you I have just upgraded my radio master tx 16 from an very old open tx to the latest Edge tx. All works well except my sounds are a lot quieter. I just wondered if you had any idea’s on the problem. Many thanks Mike..

That KST programming tool looks exactly like TORQ Tbox . are they made by the same company? and can they program each other's servos ?

Really not sure. I see this kind of thing with ESCs too like Hobbywing and ZTW programmers.

I'm really not sure. I think KST is their own entity, but I really don't know TBH.

Long time viewer - first time commenter. A thousand thanks for explaining how to use 'extended limits' to extend servo travel using my Radiomaster TX16S MII and EdgeTX. I have a 350º servo (full range only available with a pulse range from 500µs - 2500µs) for use in a pan/tilt head on a fixed wing how can I exploit this pan range potential to the fullest using iNav and a Matek flight controller along with EdgeTX?
@RCVideoReviews
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
Not sure. I would experiment with it and see if using an iNav controlled pwm output will let you push the sliders in iNav far enough.

@@RCVideoReviews Thanks John for the advice - will try although I'm not as technically adept as you. I forgot to mention I'm also using ExpressLRS so your advice about the limits of CRSF is crucial. I realise that pan/tilt mechanisms are a bit niche but 'extended limits' with wide pulse servos or using a flight controller to remap the standard 1000-2000µs range to (up to) 500-2500µs wide pulse servos could be a super simple solution to achieving a wide pan range without having to solder additional resistors into a micro servos' potentiometers etc..

@@RCVideoReviews Thanks for the advice John - I'll try although I'm not as technically adept as you. I also use ExpressLRS so it's very helpful to know about the extended pulse width limitations of the CRSF protocol. That means, using the EdgeTX & ELRS 'extended limits' method, I'll only get 40% on top of my 350º servo's extended range (beyond the normal 1000-2000µs) = 245º. It seems as if the iNav servo setup is the best bet for remapping the standard RC 1000-2000µs pulse width to (up to) 500-2500µs and getting that full 350º range of pan (360º servos rotate endlessly CW or CCW - so no good for accurate pan/tilt positioning). If this works then that's great news for pan/tilt head users who want the maximum pan angle. No more trying to solder resistors on to sub-micro servo potentiometers - can't be doing with that. You're the first KZbinr I know of to touch upon this. What a star!

Can you recommend a suitable powerbox? Are they interchangeable between manufacturers?
@RCVideoReviews

Not sure what you mean about interchangeable between manufacturers... This is the system I use on all of my big planes: www.xtremepowersystems.net/proddetail.php?prod=XPS-X10%2B

... And go fly something! I have read somewhere that you can set the zero of your servos, as Full flap down, that way you (I think) the strongest of range of your servo is used in the most challenging circumstance. Did you hear about this? What is it? Any thoughts?
@RCVideoReviews
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
Uhm, I think I have to disagree. Servo gearing is rotary. I don' believe torque changes through the motion. The way to get torque is to move the control rod closer to the servo arm screw. Also, if you do full flaps down at center, you'll get very limited movement--basically half the throw. Yeah, I think I disagree with this.

@@RCVideoReviews fair enough! I might have misunderstood what I read about that, I will try to find the article again.

Nice servos, do you happen to know of a servo that can move 180 degrees for a pan servo on my fpv

Not off the top of my head. What size are you looking for? Looks like a lot of 9g options out there.

More powerful servos need more power. A UBEC and RX that can deliver more amps at the given volts. I try to get Amperage rail specs on RX's and cannot find data. They're a force to use a powerbox.

That's right. Gotta take care of amperage. This is what I use: www.xtremepowersystems.net/proddetail.php?prod=XPS-X10%2B

Meh, for their price not worth it. You can get servos for less that are faster and have more torque, I'll pass. Kst used to be good quality for a good price, I guess they forgot the good price part..
