Thanks, Michael. The ladder has really been a help. My truck is pretty high off the ground, and the ladder makes it easy to get in the bed of the truck. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks for the video. Question does the ladder in fold up position interfer with the pull out drawers on Decked unit.
@RVSite2Sight
@RVSite2Sight 2 жыл бұрын
Hi g graham. Actually, I have about 5 inches of space between the tailgate (including the ladder) and the drawers on the Decked box. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have a Decked system in my truck as well and one illustration I would have like to have seen displayed is if you can open your drawer with the ladder in the folded position and tailgate open?
@RVSite2Sight
@RVSite2Sight Жыл бұрын
Hi Batman. Robin here. Yes, the Decked drawers easily clears the ladder when in the stowed position. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Im afraid you have made a mistake assembling the ladder. You are supposed to use the lock pins on the rocker arms at the edge of the tailgate and not on the ladder.. The purpose of the lock pins on the rocker arm is so you can totally remove the entire ladder and rocker arms without undoing any nuts and bolts. All you have to do is switch the lock pin location with the nut and bolt location to remedy the mistake.

The lock pins can be used two ways. I wanted the ladder to be permanently mounted, so I didn't need the pins on the rocker arms. I did, however need to extend and retract the ladder, so I used the lock pins on the ladder. If you look at the Amazon page for this particular ladder (amzn.to/3FgLwUG), their photo shows the pins where I installed them. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Do you have to worry about water getting into the tailgate? Thanks for the great video!
@RVSite2Sight
@RVSite2Sight Жыл бұрын
Actually, I haven't thought about it. There are so many other screws in the tailgate, I'm sure water gets in. Thanks for watching and commenting.

The only problem with this unit and all other brands is the height from the last step and onto the tailgate is quite tall. I see why the first step is only a couple inches from the ground-it’s to keep the bottom of the ladder sturdy, but it should be at like 6” off the ground so the other steps can be divided up to leave the top step at a comfortable height. The first step at 6” off the ground would still keep the bottom of the ladder sturdy, they need to change this, it would be an easy fix

Hey Paul, I totally agree. Hopefully, my next truck will have a built-in ladder. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks for the tutorial. Would it be necessary or recommended to use silicon at the drilled holes to prevent rust?
@RVSite2Sight
@RVSite2Sight 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rajesh, adding silicone would probably be a good idea. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Looks a little rickety....to say nothing about the rust already forming. I'd return it and buy a compact step stool with an appropriate weight rating. The HB Tower step stool on Azon is rated at 500 lbs and comes 2, 3, or 4 steps around $50-$60

Hi Mike, it's actually quite solid. I weigh 293 and it holds me just fine. I have several of those step ladder/stools that you are talking about but those would just be another thing to remember to bring each time we went on a trip. And, if I break down on the highway, it's always there. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Jimmy, I'm a big guy... I admit that. I have a friend who is my age that eats non-stop - way more than I do. He is skinny as a rail. I eat normally. I rarely eat fast food. I rarely go back for seconds. My normal breakfast is a piece of toast with a slice of American cheese, one microwave scrambled egg topped with a tablespoon of salsa. My lunch is usually a salad with low calorie dressing. For dinner, it's usually about 4-6 oz of meat, small amount of carbohydrates and lots of usually steamed veggies. For my evening snack, it is usually about 2 cups of microwave popcorn. I do not overeat. My metabolism is different. I am diabetic type II (from Agent Orange exposure during Vietnam) which means I have to inject with insulin (which causes one to gain weight). For me to be as skinny as you, I would have to starve myself - I've tried that, too. Over thirty years of pastoring churches and performing at least 100 funerals, I have buried way more folks who were skinny to "normal" weight all their lives than "fat" people... probably 10 to 1. Why am I taking all this time to answer someone who obviously is rude and feels they have some self-absorbed right to criticize others? Because you do it out of ignorance and you deserve to be corrected. I am normally a nice guy, but people like you need to be put in your place, and I am one who is big enough to do it!
