Just For Fun: The French name Gaultier, like gauche (left), is pronounced with a long o, as in "go." Not like goute (to taste) as in "goo." Gaultier is two syllables; the first is emphasized, and the second is a combined EE and AY*, in a compressed dipthong. "GO tee-ay." * But the AY part of TEE-AY is not itself a dipthonic, elongated "AY-eee..." (as in "Heyyyyy...!") It is more of a one-syllable EH with the AY flavor. -tier thier. I may be losing you here. I'm certain that if I tell you Gaultier is Germanic in origin and the French equivalent of the English name Walter, it will be so much easier for you to remember all of this lol. (And if you believe that I'll go down on you.)
