I hope the Switch 2’s doc is backwards compatible with the original Nintendo Switch. Nintendo should also go back with using regular sized CD discs for storage so that third party support on a handheld system will be more sufficient.

my only issue with Switch 2 is how rounded the joycons look. it makes it look like a cheap knockoff, but maybe thats because im used to the current switch and they actually end up more comfortable

Looking at the top of my own switch and comparing the renders, I agree the three button-looking things next to the USB-C style slot might be placeholders for vents. Otherwise I'm not sure where they'd be placing the exhaust vents, there doesn't seem to be any other place to put them.

Renders are good. I am still looking forward too Switch Lite revision, as well as Switch 2. Nintendo hardware is so cheap now, Switch Lite could be sold for $40 Brand New. Nintendo could redesign, and sell Switch Lite revision for $100 or $70. What I would like to see for Switch Lite revision: 1. Rumble. 2. External Microphone, for voice chat, even though Bluetooth or Headphone jack could be used. 3. Bezel-less 720p display, which would increase screen size as large as current LCD Switch. 4. Fixed internal storage as well as slot for expandable internal storage. 5. 32GB RAM LPDDR4, in Switch Lite revision, as well as Switch 2, Switch 2 should have optional full computing system software. (Games can still be constrained to 4GB RAM, 16GB RAM, Rest of RAM could be used for Multitasking and System Software) 6. Dockable 4K play, using direct USB-C to HDMI cable. Give option to have, Switch Lite on its own, Switch 2 on its own, or have both. 7. Two GAME CARD slots. 8. Two USB-C ports, or updated data transfer ports. 9. As external SSD for Switch 2, all software on Switch Lite revision, internal storage, external storage, is accessible on Switch 2. (wired or wireless) 10. Not sure what you're going on about with the cutout holes on the bottom? The Switch has them too, they're just for making sure the Switch is centered in the dock when you slide it in. I suppose Nintendo could add extra functionality if they wanted, but there's not any real evidence of that. That said, the larger cutout that's off center does look like they may be going with a custom connector rather than a USB-C.

Hollowed out kick stand, meaning theres roon for game storage on the undercarriage? Also, as for size increases, its counter intuitive for a portable device to increase in size. One of the greatest strengths of Game Boy or DS family was the capability to just stow it in pocket and go. Whereas Switch was already too big for that. Increasing the size just further cements it as a stand alone docked only console.

If all you can imagine is another more powerful Switch, you're not very imaginative. Those cutouts and USB 3 port on the top are for attaching the second screen. And the second screen will be dockable, not the main bottom one. This way, you'll have the functionality of the DS, Wii U, and Switch all in one device.

@@woody5476 Not going to happen. Most likely the dock could have a wifi transceiver, to emulate Wii U/DS type functionality by holding switch 2 in hands & transmit video to the tv. Also you can split the screen in handheld mode like with WiiU ds virtual console emulation or sell the grip to attach the joycon vertically. In the end if you are correct, ill remember your message & give you props. ✌

This makes it impossible to auto play in the background - you know, the other time we're paying money for? I also know that ad reads are more effective in the beginning of the video as opposed to the end, but maybe KZbinrs with a large audience like yourself should consider doing the end of the video ad read to balance your respect for your audience with the need to play the game. I'm probably the only one on earth that just wants this console to just FOLD. I love the switch but its not as portable as the 3DS. I think the design is great but I hate lugging a bag, or having to clothes with big enough pockets to fit the tablet. IDK. "faster, or superior to USB C" 🤣🤣🤣 Please leave the tech analysis to those that are better versed in it. But if you are wondering what that phrase was crazy: 1. USB C can do 120gbps. Nintendo will likely do ... 5gbps. 2. USB can do 240 watt charging. Nintendo is unliely to exceed 25 watt and may be much lower. So they may replace the connection, but it wont be because it is superior to USB C. That one is pretty much an impossibility.

I'm liking the renders. It looks slim like a Switch Lite just larger. Would have preferd if it was the same size as the OLED, becuase 8 inchs is not exactly pocket friendly Hopefully it feels as unified as a Switch Lite as well as has screen covers and cases like the Switch lite and ones that cover the screen and back of the tablet; without joycoms attached.

Looks like what Nintendo might be using is an Oculink port, which is used for External GPU docks and has a superior transfer speed over Thunderbolt and USB C, if this is the case than the Switch 2 really is a massive step up

because all people want from the switch successor is to be a minor upgrade. also the 3DS was still very successful. people already love the switch as is, other than internal power, and some minor issues, why would they risk changing it too much? and it seems like they'll continue to support the switch after the successor is released anyway. i'm not saying they're confirmed real, but it seems likely
