The feature is there several months already and in this version it slowed down the selection process. It became laggy. I wish they keep old version. Subject detection never worked fine so I prefer to select by myself and now it works slower. How didn't you used it in 13?

Hello Magic, will there be a promotion on your preset + tutorial pack any time soon?
@vinodp1959 күн бұрын
Deselecting "detect objects" should work better in your case. By deselecting the mentioned option will not select additional area in the picture, by this you need not subtract the selection.

Are we going to pretend that the remove tool added Batman??? lol
@Christellezphoto9 күн бұрын
would be awesome if the ai remove tool could interact with the masking options. So you could highlight the object and then tell it to "subtract subject" or "subtract person 1"... the masking tool knows what the main subject is, so you'd think that would be a logical way of doing things... it's like when departments at a business don't talk to each other 😅

Exactly that

I don’t see anything different to the previous version. Ai removal was already there so was subtracting from its selection with a brush? I hope this isn’t adobes major release because if so capture one has them beaten on new features this year

They would need to allow substraction of a detected person from the selection. Same as you can already to in the masking tools.

Hi Magic, great video. I wanted to ask if you’ve already tried this new version of Lightroom Classic with macOS Sequoia. I’m currently still using Sonoma, and I’d like to know if there are any stability issues with Sequoia. Thank you in advance 🙂
@MagicWeddingPhotographer9 күн бұрын
yup, I'm on MacOS Sequoia and it works just fine. You can always keep the old version and go back to it, if you encounter any issues.

Not there yet. The one in PS works much better. On another hand it will develop in no time. Step in the right direction, Adobe.

That is for sure an interesting video and an interesting feature, but in my point of view, it does not change dramatically the way it worked before. What is quite strange to me is the fact that Lightroom does not use its ability to detect background - as the new option to add background blur indicates it does - to help us remove objects by selecting different layers of focus. In the specific case you are discussing with the first picture of yours, it would be very easy to detect sharp edges of the groom and mix both object detection and focus detection to only remove that half-blurred lady in the background. Adobe engineers should work a little harder on that I guess because it does not seem to be really complicated to achieve that kind of thing nowadays. I don't know if you have noticed that, but another important fact related to the problem is the fact that the definition of an AI-generated image is way lower than what our camera produce. That is pretty obvious when zooming in at 100% on parts of the picture, mixing both the original image and AI-generated content. So, if you want to print an image with bits of generated content, I guess you will end up with parts of the picture with very poor quality. In that case, it would be particularly annoying, as it would be part of the groom in the center of the picture.

Meh. Another tiny step forward. They have the resources, but they treat us to an imperfect, bug-ridden tool. It's better than v13, but it's still not something they rake in record profits for.

This video is only proving that we, the user, still need to do the work to get results we want. We don’t want ai “deciding” what is better for parts of our images. Obviously it’s not good at that right now so not sure how this is “exciting”. It’s similar to what we’ve always been doing in recents months. This is not a dig at you, I’m just voicing an honest opinion in addition to your take.
