Nothing against pink and people’s love for it but I don’t understand why they couldn’t just do a red one as well. Red is a primary color, literally the R in RGB. The last two “pink” iMacs straddled the line by having a clearly red back but pink front. Are they under an agreement with PRODUCT (RED) that anything red has to be a collab with them? I know a hot rod red doesn’t make sense with all the other products using Apple’s muted “Zack Snyder Easter Party” palette but a red iMac would sell especially with the nostalgia grab of comparing it to the strawberry red G3 iMacs.

I think you're right. I looked it up, but my M1 macbook pro came out 4 years ago. It's not that crazy that there's an M4 now. For now I can still go ahead for 2..3 years with my M1.

I would go with the Mac Mini. Three more ports and you can get a larger 4k monitor and still have a large amount of money left over even after the mouse and keyboard.

I pre-ordered the Mac mini. Did I "need" it? NO, I literally just got a MacBook Air M3 in September, but I could not resist the new Mac mini! Friday can't come soon enough. I'm a huge fan of the iMac (I am literally using my 2013 iMac to watch this video and type this comment!), so I'm kinda surprised I didn't get that instead (because seriously, my 2013 iMac is ready for an update!), but I already have an external monitor, keyboard, mouse and trackpad, so Mini it is!

If you've got a MacBook Pro, you can use the Mini 'headless' via screen sharing. That's what I'm doing with my Mini and when I get my M4 Mini. Then no peripherals are needed.

I’ve owned a Mac mini for about 3 years, I’ve used the power button so rarely that I forget where it is. I’ve probably had to use it 6 times in 3 years. The mini just stays on since it barely uses power in idle and makes no noise. The bigger complain should be the location of the charge port of the mouse.

I never turned off my MacBook Pro let a lone a plugged one. So it is not a problem for the power button position

always better to let them sleep. Electronics dont like off/on cycles, they prefer one state... so leave it on, and sleep when not using, it will double the life of your rig

@ Yes electronics deteriorate by thermal expansion cycles but a constantly spinning traditional hard drive or fan deteriorate by how long it runs and electrolytic capacitors dry out at higher temperatures faster. So it also depends. A hot gaming rig with fans spinning and lots of electrolytic capacitors would die earlier if you kept it running at full speed. For a well-designed Apple product you might be right overall and I never shut my Apple products down fully.

MacBook Pro m3 max with 14/30 GPU & 36 ram- 2 tb storage for video editing but I did notice it using a lot of memory and got warm already on the trackpad… I'm wondering if upgrading to an MacBook m4 pro chip with 14/20 GPU & 48 ram would be a worth upgrade for editing? I wasn't sure if it's better to have a MAX chip with a little more GPU or take a little loss with GPU and get some more ram and the newest m4 pro chip or an M4 max chip with 36 ram? Thank you!!💕💕

I'm waiting for the mac studio to come out, in order to compare it with the mac mini before I made my decision on the one I will be choosing. I Already own a M3 pro chip 16-inch MacBook Pro Silver with a 12-Core CPU, 18-Core GPU, 36GB unified memory, with 512GB Storage. Okay so I kinda have been having my eyes on the new Macbook Pro, but of course it’s kinda pricey so I wanted to ask should I get it for just every day use (light gaming, youtube etc) or am I better off on windows or maybe Macbook Air? I think Macbook Air might be more than enough for what you do. 😊 I have an iMac M1 and I really push it with design apps and it works great. The new Macbook Airs have M2 and M3, not M4 but that's ok. I think that for longevity, I'd pick the M3 Macbook Air with 8-Core CPU and 10-Core GPU, but you could do perfectly with the 8-Core CPU and 8-Core GPU which is 200 USD cheaper. They all have 16Gb RAM now, it's more than enough. Apple computers are more efficient and they don't need super high specs to be work smoothly.

The Mac Mini is the most incredible new release. Thinking of getting a M4 Pro with 48gb and 1tb. I’m still waiting on the iPad Pro 15” or 16”. Don’t care about the price I’m preordering it the day it’s announced. I used to turn my iMac off until Tech Support said don’t do that just let it go to sleep. I’ve never turned off a MAC since. I think the people complaining about the On/Off button aren’t actually Mac users. Just trolls who need something to whine about.

I see that you had Clo3d running on the Macbook, simulation runs off CPU so it should be faster, but what about rendering with the CPU? Since Clo3d does not utilize GPU acceleration with the M chips how does it perform while rendering large images at max quality settings?? I ask because I currently have a M1 max and rendering multiple colorways even on mild settings can take 30min - 1hr!

Nano Texture is not good imo, if you like really good display's glossy is the way to go, It's a reason the best OLED's are glossy. If you like dimmed colors & contrast than yep Nano for you just for slightly better reflection handling.
