Mike, You do not have to convince anybody except yourself. I am almost 70. I have a Toro Dingo TX425 widetrack walk behind. I also have a Bobcat 743. I work alone on a 6 acre farm with around 1000 laying hens. I have other equipment too but the Toro Dingo gets used daily and sometimes for hours on end. I use it to load my sawmill and for moving manure / wood chips. Your choice in equipment is evolving and I think you have made some very wise choices. Thanks for another great video and for being an inspiration to us all. Bless your family, prayers always. Hey, watch out for those sneaky sandbags on your way back to the house to get lunch...

My little town was devastated by a hurricane several years ago. We were soon inundated by clean-up crews and Vermeer mini-steers were very useful and were less destructive to wet lawns.

I don't think people understand it's not a skid loader replacement for dirt work. It's a small maneuver machine that has the lift capacity of a larger skid steer.
@wildbill23c3 ай бұрын
That mini-skid would be excellent for moving tools around in my shop, but to even rent one is far more than its worth....I just work slowly and carefully with my tractor and pallet forks....but in a larger scale need, for sure that little mini-skid steer is by far a great asset especially in cramped areas, where you can't even get a regular skid steer into....which wouldn't even fit through the door way of my shop....my little tractor just fits through the door way of my shop.....add onto that, so many homes in these camped subdivisions don't have very good access to the back yard, some don't even have a gate to the back yard, so you have to oftentimes remove a fence panel, or a few to get access to the back yard for landscaping and other tasks....so the mini-skid is the right tool for those applications as well. They're expensive, but they're also very versatile, tons of attachments you can get for them to do pretty much any job you need.

I have been watching your channel since number seven when you had the 3901 Kabota the box store splitter and the side by side. People don't stop to think how much that equipment saves on time and an aging body. In south Mississippi we use to use oyster and clam shells for our base on driveways and private roads. Our material is a couple hundred millions years younger. Have fun and stay safe!

I think it's very nice of you to try and explain to some about the convenience and practicality of a mini skid, especially in your close quarters situation, though not sure if some will get it even after your explanation. I think most of us already know, especially those of us that have been watching for years, that you don't do or buy anything without a lot of thought and/or research first. I can see and know others do as well, that the mini skid you bought is perfect in your situation. I wonder if some are thinking too much about the cost, and since none of us really know your cash flow in and out, it is a concern for some? Any business is about production, and anything that makes that process more efficient, is an asset for sure. I'm curious what the plan is for what type and size of tractor is in the future for OWTM, especially for brush cutting, but will wait and see what that might be in the future, like everyone else. Have a Day!

Personally I prefer a tractor tired forklift over either one of these for just moving pallets and logs. I think you have easier access than the skid steer but you have better viability than either and is safer. But if you could only have one piece of equipment it would just be a 4wd tractor with cab.

Your machine wouldn’t work for me because the stuff we move weigh in from under 100 pounds to thousands of pounds. But I will say you have to be careful and not get thrown from that machine. A lot of people don't have the experience in equipment or cant see the entire picture while sitting inside the frame!. After building roads,highways, and site development for over 50 years I've learned some things watching your channel!. And after running bobcats since I was 16 yrs old at 68 now its a pain jumping in and out all the time and the mini skid is a perfect solution, and the fact that you can do so much more than most people think, which I'm sure you will show in the future. You have a great learning channel and the know it alls shouldn't be so quick to judge!. I'm not a big fan of commercials, but I understand how it works. It's also FREEDOM OF SPEECH!, but it's OK for viewers to use their free speech in negative comments!, it is what it is and fair to all people!. And maneuvering in tight area having full visibility. Not even time saving, but saving on your body on the in and out.
