Several years ago, I purchased an antique airplane from a gentleman in Youngstown Ohio and flew it back to Alabama. At the time, I didn’t realize that we were about 30 miles from your home in western Pennsylvania on our route. We also flew over western West Virginia and what a treat that was! I’m nearby at Big Bear Lake at Bruceton Mills at a Mountain Bike Festival…. Yesterday one of the owners told us there used to be a paper mill in the area that paid the farmers to plant pines for their paper production, which would explain why there are properties in the area covered with pine trees.

Nearby Georgia Pacific paper board mill is why our area is “covered” in pines. Cut down a broadleaf forest, replace it with pines. Sad. And the spring pollen bomb season is catastrophic.
