Hi it was thanks to you that I purchased this mixer, due to the indept review you gave this mixing desk, it actually arrived today during practice, the mixer I was using at this time was my Dynacord Cms 1000 Mk1, yes old but still Dynacord holds up to its name, and for the last 12 years or More my Cms still performs very well, today I just disconnected the cables from the old desk, set my levels added compression at 1pm and used FX 12 reverb & delay, wow what clarity I was hearing, every word I sang crystal clear, even went as far as hooking up my stage mon omg!! everything so easy to naivigate and less twiddling knobs, I did notice when I went from left and right from my Ketron keyboard to stereo channel L&R 13/14 I did not have to turn the gain knob up at all and the keyboards sounded amazing, yet to plug in my electric guitar, but I'm Sure it will sound just as amazing, this is a super super super analog mixing desk, I was on the brink of going digital with presonus studio live 16.02, but Im so glad I did not join the didital era, and stayed with Analog, again I say massive thanks to you a your very very much appreciated honest reviee, my jaw still has not come up the floor, WOW!!!! I'm another which will be keeping a close watch on future video reviews, and demo's 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

i just bought one of these for my home recording studio, replacing an old, but trusty, Tascam 2600. I'm still exploring it, but off the bat: Good point: the mic pres are noticeably very high quality. Bad point: there are no direct outputs to send to my soundcard (RME Aio), so I'm using two Auxs instead. Not ideal. I assume Mackie expect you to use the USB connection, which seems to me a lame gimmick: "Look! computer connection to your DAW!" The online manual (which is essential but not supplied in the box - I hate that cheapness) however doesn't tell you that to make this connection in Windows you have to go into Control Panel, disengage your soundcard and instead choose the Mackie USB device which shows up there when you plug the USB cable in. That's ridiculous in my view for any serious home recording user. UPDATE: I contacted Mackie Support and they advised I connect the main outs to my soundcard. Wrong! That will send output in an infinite circle. SOLUTION: Connect your soundcard from SUB OUTS 1 and 2. Depress the 1-2 button on the guitar or vocal channel. Using the FX controls you can either record to your DAW this way wet or dry, i.e. with the Mackie FX or without.
@JohnBassarcticsoundstudios3 жыл бұрын
You can take a Quarter inch cable 2 conductor plug it into the insert on any channel, Push all the way in and pull back one click And that will send that channel out to your sound card. the only thing that is effected is the gain knob which will give you the cleanest signal.

Just want to clarify the 2 out/ 4 in USB functionality. You actually can’t use all 4 of the inputs - you must choose either 1&2 or 3&4 when monitoring your DAW and these have to be selected inside your operation system, Window or IOS audio function. YOU CAN’T CHOOSE BOTH. However, this unit has really good preamps so it is a nice recording interface if you only need USB 2 outs and 2 ins, which for a lot of songwriters with home studios is perfectly fine. I.e., if you buy this for live sound you do get a decent but limited DAW interface.

I own the Mackie Profx16V2...This new V3 unit is listed for 649.00$ here in Canada.....still very good value for this mixer considering the additional features such as 2 more AUX's, Comps, Hi Z etc.....however I think Mackie missed the bus by not redesigning this box to provide full USB 16 multitrack recording capability...I would have gladly paid 1000$ for that....I just bought a Soundcraft MTK12 which has 12 multitrack recording for under 700$ CND....I would have preferred a 16 channel multitrack however Soundcraft doesn't have one and the next one up is 22 channel which is too large for me...In any case this Mackie is still an awesome mixer considering the price and numerous features...who knows, they may include MTK on a future model......thanks for the review and presentation!!...cheers!!

I just want to point out a small error in the video. Normally, I wouldn't bring it up but I had this same issue come up 2 times in the last week. In the video, I believe he was talking about channels 15/16, and it was in reference to the 3.5mm mini jack connector. He said it was a balanced connection, and its not. Its a single ended stereo jack. Since its a 2 channel strip, for balanced operation you would need 2 connectors (one for each channel). But even if it was just 1 channel with a TRS or XLR connection, that doesn't guarantee balanced operation. Its just a cable connector. For balanced you need both components the cable is connecting to be balanced as well. Just to give an example of what I'm talking about, I had 2 people ask me to look at their system because they thought something was broken. They both tried to take a balanced interconnect (TRS on one end and XLR on the other end, which is fine as long as the internal wiring matches the pin configuration for balanced operation), and plug it into a jack just like this one, only it was 1/4 in. And of course, no sound. Nothing was wrong with the gear, they were just not hooking it up properly.
@expertisland2 жыл бұрын
17:19 I had to find it 🙄, and your right I misspoke.😲 I had it right in my head, just the word never came out of my mouth.😴 I should have said it can look like a Balanced connection but it is just a 2 ch. stereo connection.
@AT-wl9yq2 жыл бұрын
@@expertisland Your videos contain a tremendous amount of information. It's impossible to be 100% perfect every time (I know from experience). If I had to guess, I'd say your worst case scenario is 99%, but probably not that low. I sometimes single out balancing because the industry does a horrible job with it. Its probably the most misunderstood topic in audio. Of course, most of the confusion comes from manufacturers playing games with the term. Anyway, I think your videos are fantastic. You make sure to cover everything, even if it takes several videos.

Hello sir I'm going Rollins around with everybody cuz I'm trying to order a new chip for this Mackie 12 1000 watt on the last four of the PCB being 2204-02 revision-c00. It is Mark you for under circuit board and in the schematics and it TDA 8954 th is on the schematic and it's also on the trip itself. This chip sits under hdw1 IC clamp. And if you have a part number of 204-3010 I find it difficult that I have all the parts for the screws in the little metal pieces but no electrical values are manufacturers on the schematics electrically speaking.. in fact it's easier to know the type and values of screws and it isn't your electrical components with their schematics and manual... Is a 24-pin chip 12 handling low frequency and the other 12 on the other side of the chip handling high frequency it has something to do with the amplifier limiter thermal protection circuitry. As the left side of the chip is producing high frequency spine and is undisturbed but the right side of the chips so scorching and some of the little arms are burned up and it's not producing output for low frequency.. more time is being wasted on trying to gather who the manufacturer is and it's electrical rating or name for exact replacement then it seems to even be worth fixing this thing or the time it would actually take to fix it with the materials and information are known
