I remember a decent Spongebob matchup being Plankton vs Mojo JoJo, with the connections being two “brilliant” (clearly genius intellect but very easy to distract and outsmart) villains brought about by what they believe to be the betrayal of their former co-worker (Krabs and Utonium) and led down a path of evil where they attempt to destroy their previous friends most prized and powerful creations (Powerpuff Girls and Krabby Patty, it sounds weird comparing the two but it works in this way). Also it’s a lot more fair since Plankton doesn’t really scale directly to Spongebob’s universe ending feat but still shows a lot of great ones themselves, such as splitting atoms by hand causing a nuclear explosio

My most wanted Black Clover matchup is Noelle Silva vs Percy Jackson. Heroes who have themes revolving around royalty, the sea, and mythology, who grow up in bad home environments with little control over their powers, only for said powers to become even stronger and for them to gain control over them when they join a group of other outcasts, one of whom is their love interest

3:40- Now that's a GREAT choice. Though, my personal favorite Mythology matchup is Fenrir vs Cerberus, despite the dynamic being... really hard to work with. Also, I can see why you're uninterested in Ghidorah vs Deathwing. I personally prefer it over Alduin for the latter (Though it's not my preferred for Ghidorah), but I can understand that. Either way, it's an epic kaiju/dragon battle and that's awesome. Also Also, Xeno Broly vs Devastator is a thing, and that sounds awesome.

My personal most wanted Black Clover matchup is Noelle Silva vs Ren Kogyouku from Magi. It hits the same Water user with a love interest angle but also has a connection of nobility ostracized within their own families. They also have an underlying theme of wanting somewhere to belong as well as proving themselves to their mentally abusive families. Couple that with the fact that they both have a tendency to try and flex their status as nobility when feeling insecure or overwhelmed by a goofy situation and they could have some fun interactions. Lastly, Noelle's Valkyrie Dress and Ren's Djinn equip both have an asthetic similarity of wearing armor that looks like water. Personally this one of my favorite matchups and I hope this is picked over Juvia if Noelle were to ever come to Death Battle.

my personal favorite for black manta is killmonger. even if you don't include the movie versions you still have "villains who fight against a superpowered king from a hidden nation" plus the added connection of "for their race" but im pretty sure it was revealed that black manta was just in it for himself and he said that shit as a lie

5:15 on the topic of predator vs 40k, I would like add one more mu that is Scarface vs Old Bale Eye. Just a cool match up with little connections but here are those connections 1.Fighters with iconic imagery relating to their right eye 2. Both have won fights that are heavily stacked against them, Scarface against the human tech company mob boss thing and Bale Eye against ork waaghs, 3.they fought opponents with green colors, Scarface with xenos, other preds and hunter borgia and Bale eye with orks. Those are all the connections, again, not much but it does have great animation potential.

Rengoku vs mirio is basically Heroes that show up in the midpoint of the series that represent the perfect ideal hero just as much if not or than the mentor who is passed there prime. But both end up making dramatic sacrifices to defeat a major villain. Both also have a very similar personality and similar amounts of Unstoppable willpower that allows them to fight on even though they should be powerless or dead

Great Video as always! Tbh, I find David Martinez from Cyberpunk Edgerunners to be a much better match up for Kaneda. Connections; Both series have the setting of future earth, in a city filled with crimes and punks all around the corner, with the protagonist being a punk that would earn the title of being a cyberpunk (David and Kaneda) Both live in fictional cities in where punks are rising and dropping like flies, and society‘s changed for the worse (Nightcity and Neo Tokyo) Both series belong in the cyberpunk genre, with Akira being the one which popularized around all of the world and Cyberpunk being the new golden modern child of the genre Both series have heavy political undertones, criticizing the modern society we live in with all the new technology being invented and how the modern man becomes more hollow and empty by the sheer pressure of this modern world Both franchise are more popular thanks to their animated adaptation, with Akira becoming iconic not only in Japan and all around the world, but Edgerunners being a mix combination of east and west, which when it was released on Netflix, revived the game it was adapted from (The Akira Movie and Cyberpunk Edgerunners) Both are brash, hot headed and young guys filled with ambitions along with their gang which are their new found family Both became punks when their parents died and were influenced and victims of their societies‘s flaws (The World War III and Nightcity) Both fight against scientific humans who have gotten their powers by transferring and modifying their bodies (Tetsuo and all of the Punks in Night City) Both are School drop outs because of scientific humans would then change their lives forever (When Tetsuo got his powers awaken which lead to Kaneda trying to stop Tetsuo from destroying everything and when the random gang started blasting David‘s mom car which lead to her death, which then lead into David to become a punk) Both are marksman, carrying a gun of all times and have a iconic machinery which is often remarked by its coolness and speed (The Bike and The Sandavistan) Both have iconic bright colored jackets with the symbol of their gangs on their back While David’s arc is him losing his humanity and sanity because of the corruption of his city, Kaneda manages to be a decent human being throughout his story, and ironically enough, his archenemy is someone who also loses their humanity because they started to take in supplements on them and doing drugs to calm themselves down which all started by the corruption of their world and being a victim of their circumstances. The animation would be a fast paced fight in the city, with the both shooting each other while drifting though the streets. You can also have a scene of the both have a slow and brutal fist fight too. And there are many DBH MU that interest me currently, I find XDiVE X VS Xeno Goku to be a really interesting Match up! Connections; Both are the more powerful versions of the Iconic Main Character which were created thanks to the memories made by their comrades and a woman who is a gatekeeper of everything (Trunks and Chronoa and Players/ViA and NiCO) and originated from Gacha games which are the celebration of their franchises. Both are some of the last of their kind (Robot Master and Saiyans) They work alongside many different people, which includes the mentor of the player who is a alternate version of a popular swordsman (ViA and Xeno Trunks) and a navigator woman who oversees all of the timelines and worlds (NiCO and Chronoa) from protecting the past and the iconic moments of their franchises against villains who try to corrupt all of it -They are the ones who occasionally help the player from saving the past, protecting the iconic moments and scenes of their franchises They are the main core of their own continuity (XDiVE and Dragonball) Despite being awkward and not having many great social skills because of their righteous and kind nature, they are still aware of their jobs/quest and takes it very seriously when necessary They came from a video game that combines each series and continuities (Dragon Ball, Manga, Z Anime, GT, Z Movies, and Super Anime for Goku. Classic, X, Zero, ZX, Legends, Battle Networks and Starforce for X) Both are known and iconic for having many many, and I mean many transformations which greatly increases their overall power and also have unique abilities and factors to them Unlike their canon main counterparts, both characters has a lot of powerful versitile abilities that their main counterparts normally doesn't have, including a very special form that only these versions of the characters have (XDiVE Armor and Super Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker) Both also has additional name (Xeno and XDiVE) Both also can fuse with other people on special occasions with a special item (ZX Armor and Potara Earrings) Both have X in their name (duh and Xeno) Both use a magical ball shaped macguffin that grants them any wish they desire, which is often targeted by the bad guys for its sheer possibilities of what they could do with it (Mother Elf and Dragon Balls) Both also have a iconic powerful attack which is basically them flying at super speeds with their first in front in a very gold yellowish aura around them which is known to most likely one shoting their enemies (Nova Strike and Dragon Fist) Both are iconic and famous for shooting out a very big blue laser which is a staple of their respective franchises‘s identity (Charged Shot and Kamehame-Ha!) Animation Potential is kinda just INSANE! You can have the full on versatility of X‘s weapons clash against the many random abilities and powers Xeno Goku has in both Heroes and Xenoverse, and as they fight for a long time, have them transform slowly more and more with the armors of X and the Super Saiyan forms of Goku, till in the final act, it’s XDiVE Armor X against Super Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Xeno Goku. So you could have a epic fast paced hand to hand combat between them with lasers, long ranged options and other effects happening around them, like wherever they fight, its starts to glitch away like in a video game as they continue to push their limits and unleash more of their power. Time starts breaking and reality being ripped apart, while it shows in the background many iconic scenes of their franchise to mark the point that these versions of the characters are meant to celebrate their franchises. And have them talk to their partner (RiCO and Chronoa) by having to relay on them giving tips and what to do next. They also could summon various characters of their franchise to add on the battle (Have X summon some of the Mega Mens like Classic does in Smash Bros, which includes Classic, Volnutt, EXE and Starforce and Goku summons the past versions of himself, like Classic, Z, GT and Super. For the final clash and act, either have both of them clash their fist against each other, X‘s Nova Strike and Goku‘s Dragon Fist or a gigantic laser beam struggle with X fully unleashing the Charged Shot and Goku‘s biggest Kamehame-Ha! that he can pull out of himself. Oh and the both have so many transformations too, so you can go nuts with them too

As one of the most avid Elder Scrolls fans in the versus community, I am so happy to see Alduin Vs Deathwing on here. This is not only my most wanted Elder Scrolls matchup, but my 2nd most wanted matchup ever, just behind Kratos Vs Asura. I'm glad that even after my dreams were crushed right in front of me when Ghidorah Vs Deathwing was on the Champion's Poll, this matchup still gets the praise it deserves. Thank you, Nemesis. My favorite mythological matchup is probably Achilles vs Gilgamesh, that being said I get that this doesn’t really have the same epic scale people generally want from their mythology matchups, so I expect it’s less likely than Zeus-Odin or Surtr-Typhon. If you don’t know, here’s the connections: TL;DR: they both go through similar journeys of seeking out glory, finding grief, handling that grief poorly, and learning to live out a fulfilling life, but because of their different cultures take that final lesson in opposite directions. Both of them are kings who left their position to seek out glory on the battlefield, and dealt with extreme tragedy and grief at the loss of their best friend as a result. Both of them spiraled out of control as a result of this death; however, where Gilgamesh did so out of fear after realizing his own mortality, Achilles had already accepted his mortality and fell into wrath. They both were made to see the error in their handling of grief by a wisened elder, and returned to live out their life to the fullest. For Gilgamesh, this means returning home to his city, and putting his strength and wisdom to use to improve the lives of his people, whereas for Achilles this means properly following the traditions and etiquette of the battlefield so that he can achieve honor in death, while leaving his city in the hands of his young child.

For Spongebob, while I have thought of Sandy Cheeks vs Apple Jack from MLP (I am very likely not the first) and Patrick Star vs Ed from Ed Edd and Eddy (clicks with me 100% more than Patrick vs Goofy), the Spongebob Matchup that interests me the most is Flying Dutchmen vs Grim from Grim Adventurers of Billy and Mandy. Both are quite literally Death of their series with Grim literally being the Grim Reaper while the Flying Dutchmen also brings souls to the afterlife and both are undead creatures with Grim being a skeleton and Dutchmen being a ghost. Both are incredibly powerful entities, capable of manipulating time, altering reality and transforming others into different forms but despite that, they are often outsmarted, abused and mistreated by the main characters and have lost their once fearsome reputation (Grim now being considered a joke and Dutchmen struggling to scare people until Squidward). I like this matchup for a few reasons, one is that it involves two cartoons I loved as a child (fell out of love for modern Spongebob), both have crazy powers so it could get to Bill Cypher vs Discord levels of reality fucking and I like it because its two cartoon characters that exist in a world with toon force and 4th wall breaking. While I liked Saitama vs Popeye and Spongebob vs SF Aquaman was a thing, I am sick of seeing characters who are confined to some sort of logic go up against a character with Toon Force. We have seen it three times, Deadpool vs Mask, Saitama vs Popeye and Spongebob vs SF Aquaman and the result is always the same, no matter how powerful the loser is, the winner can just do whatever wacky shit they want and defy all logic so they win. With this matchup though, both are cartoon characters who deal with toon force and 4th wall breaking characters so the result won't be that the character can do whatever the hell they want wins, because both can so it would actually be more about their abilities and strengths which actually sounds interesting. Plus, despite being a ghost, The Flying Dutchmen can be hurt by physical things as in one episode he was hit repeatedly by a lawn mower so it could very well be reasoned that his intangibility is a conscious thing he'd have to activate instead of just always on so Grim could actually hurt him with his scythe which has been stated to permanently remove anything it hacks off, even if it can normally be reattached so it seems to ignore regen. That being said, while I never thought of it at first, Squidward vs Benson actually sounds really cool. We have the two grumpy ass employees who have to deal with the two idiot main characters and also have a shitty boss so they have that in common but they are also VERY different in that Benson is a hard worker who cares about his job while Squidward is a lazy slacker who sleeps on the job and insults customers. From what I recall, Benson is actually secretly a pretty cool guy who can play an instrument and has a girl who likes him while Squidward is just a loser who no one likes besides Spongebob and Patrick who often annoy and torture him so there are some similarities and some really interesting differences. The reason for the fight is also easy to think of considering Squidward is a slacker. Either Benson gets a part time job at the Krusty Krab or Squidward gets a part time job at the park and instead of doing his job, he's practicing his clarinet when Benson arrives. Benson yells at him to "GET BACK TO WORK!" which Squidward ignores up until Benson tells him to stop wasting time with the clarinet because he sounds terrible which actually gets him to argue back and because of how angry these two can get, escalates into a full blown brawl. And much like Grim vs Flying Dutchman, both have crazy cartoon bullshit so it shouldn't be a case of "This character ignores logic so they win" because both just do crazy shit all the damn time though not as crazy as the main characters so whatever cartoon bullshit they actually have should be minimal in comparison to Spongebob and Patrick or Mordecai and Rigby. With the former matchup, I fear that Grim will likely be put up against someone else, seen him put up against Jedah Dohma from Dark Stalkers and the Death Battle Cast put him up against Ainz from Overlord for a Halloween thing (I hope to god that matchup never happens) but I could actually see Squidward vs Benson happening eventually after Finn and Jake vs Mordecai and Rigby. I'd be happy with either matchup and unlike Spongebob vs SF Aquaman, it won't just be "This character sucks because they can't defeat a cartoon god who breaks reality" because they're all cartoons with crazy bullshit so the result won't be so obvious.

I heard Bakugo for Squidward as a track and instantly wanted, though Mr. Krabbs vs Scrooge McDuck is also pretty good. Ed vs Patrick is another fun one. Like Thanos, size changing can be used to show seriousness. If we include the teases, Paladin Danse vs Applejack (if the stomp of Buzz Lightyear vs Paladin Danse doesn’t happen). Applejack is very strong (maybe able to smash through power armor) and durable with a probable movement, reaction speed and possible attack speed depending on her Element. He has power armor and laser rifle with possible scaling to Coursers given he’s a Gen 3 Synth Gravity Falls can have Dipper vs the detective kid that you’ve mentioned I believe. Infamous can have Vampirella vs The Countess from 2. Prototype can have Elizabeth Green vs Vespiquen from Pokémon I guess. They’re always fun. D’Vorah from Mortal Kombat or Roach Coach from Power Puff Girls. Many things controller, not much else

Two Black Clover matchups I actually suggested are matchups against characters from Magic the Gathering, and they are Meroleona Vermillion vs. Arlinn Kord, and Yami Sukehiro vs. Jace Breland. Now connections are as follows for Meroleona vs. Arlinn it's a battle between two heroic female mages who have an affinity for Fire Magic, and have a connection to mana found in nature who literally have a primal ferocity within them and instead of using weapons they use their bodies as the weapons, and as for who wins it's actually close as Arlinn's lycanthrope form and the physical stat boosts it brings will allow her to match the physical stat boosts Meroleona gets via the Mana Zone(Yes along with being a powerful and potent Planeswalker she is also a werewolf who can control her transformation and has gained the mental and spiritual discipline needed to maintain her humanity/human intellect in this human/wolf-hybrid form including to being able to speak and use actual strategy and tactics and still cast spells in this form) with only advantage Arlinn has is range and versatility as being a Druid means Arlinn not has access to her signature Fire Magic, but also Nature Magic which in the D&D/MtG Multiverse means not access to more Fire Attribute spells, but spells of the elemental attributes Water, Ice, Lightning, Earth, Stone, Air. and Plants. Now for Yami vs. Jace the connections are a battle between two intelligent powerful mages who are also decent swordsmen and for who wins it's actually close as both consider equal when it comes to damage potency of their attack spells, both are known for being tough to take down as they both have tanked powerhouse spells and attacks before, and both have ways of predicting attacks and locating opponents Yami with his Ki Sense, and Jace with his Clairvoyance, as for advantages Yami arguably has the better physical stats, and is the better swordsman despite Jace's proficiency as a swordsman, while Jace is arguably the more intelligent one(seriously this guy plays chess with deities while at the same time having philosophical debates with them and his plans have backup plans that also have backup plans), and has greater versatility thanks to his mastery of Water Magic, and Illusion Magic including the fact he creates new offensive/defensive spells by fusing the two types of magic together either via experimentation or on the fly during battle.

Personally, for another Middle Earth matchup I'd love to see a dragon fight. Ancalagon The Black, Glaurung or Smaug could have some really fun matchups against other large/powerful/apocalyptic dragons like King Ghidorah, Fing Fang Foom, Deathwing, Alduin, Bahamut (Final Fantasy) or Tohru (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) among a dozen others.

I know an unpopular matchup idea and it’s Dreadpool vs Waluigi (Marvel vs Mashed) Connections: both of them are alternate versions of popular fictional characters and they both kill all of there respective universes Dreadpool kills the Marvel Universe, and Waluigi kills all of super smash bros, and more(there are probably more connections than that but I might have forgotten about them) Who wins: Not sure I think it goes either way but Dreadpool could win with the carbinanium sword, and due to some of his hax, but Waluigi could win due to his raw stats, and/or you include scaling him to the characters that he has defeated but again I’m not sure who wins I think it could go either way but I am not sure. Track name ideas: 1. Mashing the universe 2. Purple Dread 3. My Ultimate Desire Track genre: a rap song in the style of all of the Waluigi vs Super smash bros and Just do it now, and x gin give it to ya. The track could be the actual dialogue in the fight just like in Mashed. Animation style: Hand drawn in the normal Death Battle style of hand drawn, but mixed with the mashed style.

Well you got some things wrong about Alduin vs Deathwing and by that I mean.... everything as there literally isint connections there as Alduin is not even a Dragon and instead he's a god who takes the form of a dragon also he can't even choose his size as he can only be about 30 ft or the size of a solar system literally no in between so Alduin is literally the size of Deathwings toenail or so big it makes deathwing look like a grain of sand

My personal favorite for League of Legends would be Jhin vs Mista (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure part 5) Connections: Both are gunslingers who are weirdly obsessed with the number four. Mista believes the number brings bad luck while Jhin believes it's the best number, theming all of his weapons around it. Jhin should probably win since he is smarter, has more range and has better control over the battlefield.

There are some interesting ideas that we can all see In future seasons for death battle, for me I do want to see is Puss in Boots vs Zorro, Sandy Cheeks vs Squirrel Girl is another good match up but if she scales to SpongeBob's toon force power then she may have a chance, And this one I wanted Alex Mercer fight up against some anime character from Tokyo ghoul but since his opponent is going to be cole from infamous which I'm quite excited for next coming season then I think Albert Wesker from resident evil against white hair emo goth guy from Tokyo ghoul, although I do want to make this clear but not a fan of anime but I'm quite curious of any anime capabilities against comic, cartoon, video game, and animated characters, so those are my thoughts of the matches I wanted to see

My favorite Black Clover matchup is Yuno vs Kazuma Yagami . The connections are Both are powerful wind magic users with contracts with spirits of the wind. Both were chosen by said wind spirits to be able to use their power Their higher tier transformations are only possible by merging with their spirits' power or the spirits themselves. Both can use two different types of magic and are the only two people in their verses who can do it naturally. (Yuno with star magic and Kazuma with Electricity magic) Both are calm and reserve rarely getting overly emotional unless someone they love is hurt Both were forced out of their homes only to return at a later date in order to save their homes. (Yuno needed to leave due to dark triad coming to kill him only but escaped to help defeat them and save the Spade kingdom and Kazuma was forced out of his home by his own family due to being unable to use fire magic and then returned to help stop the mysterious assassinations of his family memebers) Both have a loud, hot headed, sword using rival who is/considered family. (Asta and Ayano)

For Black Clover, I’d honestly love to see Mereoleona Vermillion take on Benimaru Shinmon from Fire Force. Pyrokinetic captains who are widely considered to be one of the strongest in their respective verses, who start off antagonistic to the main characters but later begin to respect them. While the connections are admittedly basic, I think this has the potential to be a really fun battle that mixes martial arts with pyrokinetic attacks on the large scale these two are known for.

The Oldest Siblings of a very important Family and are the Captians of important positions, Nozel the Silver Eagles Captian and Byakuya the 6th Divison Captian. Both have bad relationships with there younger Sister Noelle and Ryukia coming off as major assholes, but over the series we the situations change as well as there perspectives. It makes sense this has a lot of connections as the Mangka of BC Yuki Tabta has stated Nozel took insperation from Byakuya Zenon Zongratis vs Ulquiorra Cifer once again Zenon Design wise was Inspired by Ulquiorra however there character arcs are polar opposite. There are a mirror of each other tying into the theme of Humanity/Nihilism Ulquiorra was a being of pure Nihilism who ultamitly learned what Huamnity and the Heart was by the time of his Death via his time with Orihime and by the end reached for her hand. Zenon was born a human but due to the advents in his life slowly embraced Nihilism discarding his Hope then His Soul and Finally his Heart becoming Devil Zenon, his last wish as a human was that his homeland the Spade Kingdom atleast remain after. Both were major antagonists for there arcs and there fights triggered the Heros (Ichigo and Yuno) to Unlock powers born from raw emotion (Ichigo's Rage and Yuno's Drive) Both were the Most loyal to there boss Aizen and Lucius. After that we have Yami Sukihero vs Anubis Cruger from Power Rangers SPD The Mentors and Leaders of what are considered Lesser Divisions of there Worlds. Yami the Captian of the Black Bulls and Cruger the Commander of B-Squad both not as popular when next to the Golden Dawn and A Squad. Both are outcasts in the larger societies, WIth Yami being a Forener Hailing from Hino Country who ended up in the Clover Kingdom and Cruger a Antro Wolf in a Planet full of Aliens. Both weild swords with ties to Darkness/Shadow, Yami using Dark magic and Cruger being the "Shadow Ranger" Personality wise these two are very Opposite Yami is very layed back and almost carefree where Cruger is very Rigged and Sirius. Yes i did just say that. Others that I like that I dont care to lay out. Zora Ideale VS Shikamaru Nara Yuno Grinberryall vs Shun Kazami (Bakugan) Charlotte Roselei vs Boa Hancock Luck Voltia vs Killua Zoldyck And lastly Charmy Pappitson vs Son Goku vs Monkey D. Yeah I like Black Manta but agree that he doesn't have that many good matchups, I know nothing of Hydroid so I'm gonna take your word for it. The only other match up for him that I like was Black Manta vs Green Goblin, both are villains who are the most Iconic to there respective hero and have gotten under each other's skin on both ends, with Norman involved in the Death of Gwen and Manta I think killed Aquaman's son, as well as Aquaman killing Manta's Father and Spider-Man involved in Harry Osborn's death, and both using technology and a wide range of weapons and gadgets to contend with the hero

After being forced to watch Arcane despite my dislike of LoL, I did actually come up with a LoL matchup I might like: Jayce Talis vs Ral Zarek (Magic: the Gathering). Both come from the faction of their world that is based on technological progress (Piltover on whatever LoL's world is called, and the Izzet Guild on Ravnica). Both create magic-powered technology, and personally wield electric weapons. They were both dedicated in their research of the mysteries of their world (Hextech and the laylines) only to be cucked by their mentors (Heimerdinger denying hextech in general and later hextech weapons as too dangerous, and Niv-Mizzet not letting Ral run the Implicit Maze), but they go ahead with their plans anyways and cause problems. They both also achieve a political position in their faction over their mentors, albeit under much different circumstances (Jayce gets on the Council and has them vote out Heimerdinger, Niv-Mizzet becomes the Living Guildpact so Ral now gets to take over as guild leader). I'll be completely honest, this was born purely from my desire to find MtG matchups. I dont know jack shit about LoL, and I started playing Magic after the older Ravnica blocks and the shit with the Maze. The entirety of these connections are from half paying attention to Arcane lore and wiki pages because I noticed the similarities between Piltover and the Izzet, so I could be completely wrong on any number of things here. I don't care, I want an MtG match. Sue me.
