I don’t understand WHY people didn’t think about what their plans would be when Gentaro was a baby! Kintaro is already 5 years old. Are they at least thinking about his future? Humans almost made these beautiful loving 🦍 creatures extinct and are still doing it. 😢

Of course they do! The planning is just not as simple as you seem to think it is. Years passing doesn’t solve issues. Would you prefer they just keep all the female gorillas on birth control? There’s a world wide program for captive lowland gorillas but that doesn’t mean there’s an immediate solution for everything. You don’t know what goes on in the background.

Unfortunately, the main issue is profit (again). Gentaro is super popular in Japan and abroad. Any zoo would be happy to have a superstar like Gentaro because that means thousands and thousands of people would visit the zoo just to see him. That's why Chiba Zoo doesn't want to give Gentaro to anyone. Kyoto Zoo also wants to keep him, so all of this creates complications and impedes the creation of Gentaro's troop.

They can safely be moved across seas. It is because Japan is not willing to work with any zoo's that are not in Japan. They will not work with united states, Canada ,England nor any other countries. So it is actually cruel by them keeping these Gorillas who are an endangered species without networking outside of Japan none of these Gorillas will have a troop or offspring of their own. Obviously the country doesn't even want to invest and help with upgrades at the zoo's there. If I'm not mistaken in Japan the zoo's are founded by government the government is who is in charge of the zoo's as well as everything else

I love watching this channel and listening to you explain how Gorilla's live, love and interact with each other. Also, how the different Zoo's work together. My favorite thing, is watching the interaction with the Gorilla's and their Zookeepers. Actually things would not be that difficult if Japan would be willing to negotiate with other countries, United States of America, England and other's, there would a wide range of same breed of Gorillas where mates and homes could be chosen from. I do understand each country is different and has different ways, but if countries are going to keep animals and primates like these Gorillas then they should be forced to make whatever decisions that need made for each Gorillas well being and best possible outcome for their future, for the survival of the Gorilla and its species. Sometimes differences have to be put aside for the greater good. Gentaro and the other Gorillas deserve to be able to have there own troop to have their own family. These are endangered species everything should be done to help the numbers grow.

The problem is that other countries will not agree to it unless Japan meets their standards. Which rightfully soo they have better enclosures and most do not place their gorillas on contraceptives

Contraception for gorillas is very common overseas. There are strict breeding restrictions that preclude many overseas gorillas from breeding. Hakao and Shabani are very over represented through both parents, and if it weren't for Momoka and Nene, both born in the wild, their offspring would not be bred in Europe at least. Their sisters Shinda and Kijivu have been allowed to breed with an under represented silverback in Prague. Shinda might not get pregnant though. They don't take gorillas from the wild - rightly so - and this are trying to avoid interbreeding and as well the zoo population from dying out. It is a pickle.

There doesn't seem to be as much concern over their future! Gentaro can't go on like this. He's such a kind and gentle gorilla. I hope he stays that way with all of this turmoil . They deserve more compassion and consideration. They have all got to get together and come up with the best scenario for the almost extinct gorillas❤❤❤ Get on with it and help them have a chance. There seems to be no monitoring of them, they're on their own!!

All of these zoos need to work together to help all of these gorillas! They are in captivity because of humans! We must make sure they are treated with the utmost care and respect. Git rid of the red tape and politics! We have already taken their freedom. We must make their futures as normal as we can. Gentaro and Kintaro are great brothers. This family is beautiful. You seem to be genuinely concerned about their wellbeing. Zoos will not be in our future! I can assure you! Put the zoo owners in the cages with their families and see how fast things change. Humans do not get that they have no right to cage animals for their own selfish reasons. I do hope I hear some good news about what progress will be happening with these gorillas otherwise I will stop watching all of these channels. It already is starting to make me very sad. I don’t think that is your intention, is it? I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. My prayers will be with you and the gorilla families. 💙❤️🙏🙏🙏🙂❗️

Gentaro is incredible!…... All Gorillas are !❤ it is so irresponsible of these zoo administrators or whomever makes decisions on the well-being of these exceptional animals. They don’t seem to have thought to consider what they would do with the babies when they grow up because they all grow up! 🤨 On a different note, Precious Genki is looking so much better. Her coat looks so much healthier 💕💕

I hope Chiba Zoo's new gorilla house has a large area of ceiling like the one at Kyoto in addition to a large area open to the sky. The roof at Kyoto is genius in my opinion although i would be really interested to see what Momotaro's family would do if they also had an area open to the sky. Gentaro and Kintaro cannot be with Haoko's daughters (Shabani's brother) because they are first cousins. Momoko; the mother of Haoko's daughters is Momotaro's mother. And yes, it is a big problem.

I propose that Japan's Zoo owners get in touch with her to acquire lots of Knowledge and information about this looming situation. Sometimes I feel that if Jan zoos cannot afford to maintain and expand on their gorilla program then reach out to a refuge so others can take over. Such as the aspinal refuge. Pay out to transport and quarantine. Let them go

I don't understand. There have been gorillas flown overseas before. I know there's a lot involved in transferring a gorilla, especially overseas. However, something is going to have to happen sooner than later. Just my opinion.

Just a question. Is it possible for the gorillas to share a common area with another species such as orangutans? That might make life a little more interesting for them. No. Orangutans are one of the few species of apes that prefer solitude while Gorillas are highly social and need other gorillas to function It would be possible for newborns to coexist but an adult orangutan wouldn't get along with a silverback, or other apes in general apart from maybe gibbons

I think Gentaro is too old to castrate. I really could be wrong as I don't know much about it, but it seems to be done relatively young. Abaju in Prague was castrated at about three so he could remain with his mother and the new silverback would accept him. He appears very happy and well adjusted. He will always live with his family group. I think it is better than going to a bad zoo if nothing else can be done.

Meus dois amores Kintaro e Genki, fico muito contente em saber que a situação de Monta e Rola vai melhorar, é angustiante assistir como eles estão vivendo, Monta é um gorila lindo, merece ter uma família, não ficar sozinho, Rola merece ser colocafa em uma família, espero que realmente aconteça, Momotaro e Gentaro são gorilas do Zoo de Chiba, eles podem pedir os dois para vivet em Chiba? E Kintaro e Genki? Quase não é falado sobre Kintaro, eu fico apavorada, assisti um vídeo de um canal de um Pais da Europa que alguns gorilas foram castrados, fiquei chocada com a perversidade, os gorilas castrados são, Shufai, Maka, Loango que tem 14 ou 19 anos, mas parece menos, ele não vão se tornar costas prateados, Loango é alto e muito magro, a pelagem é rala, electem um aspecto de doente, não sei se está doente, fiquei desesperada, amo os gorilas, eles estão criticamente ameaçados de extinção, não tem lógica, é muito cruel, então fico preocupada com os gorilas dia e noite, tenho vontade de ajudar, eles estão nessa situação por culpa dos humanos. Fico trisye por Komomo que já tem 14 anos e quer ser mãe, Momoka, no meu País tem dois gorilas machos, não sei a idade e não sei se já foram mandados para outro País, mas se não de repente pode acontecer uma conversa e quem sabe resolver o problema das irmãs, fico pensando em Kyomasa que tambem precisa ter uma família, a situação Annie e Gentaro precisa ser conversada com calma e união para quem sabe, juntar Annie e Gentaro, Annie é um amor, é impossível não gostar da Annie, e ela vai ficar linda igual a mãe, tem Kintaro e Riki, o planejamento começa agora para os dois, o tempo passa muito rápido, lembro de ver Gentaro brincando com Kintaro bebê, e Gentaro já está na idade de ter a própria familia, quero que quando Kintaro tiver na Idade de ter uma familia seja mais fácil e menos doloroso. From what I have read, neither Rola or Monta will accept another gorilla, Rola was hand raised, and they've tried. They are set in their solitaire lives, and while it looks sad to us, perhaps it's what they want. Especially if the zoo has already tried to pair them up with others. I don't see a good outcome for the present gorillas in Japan. The only chance they have is overseas communication for a trade and bring in new genes to the Japan gorillas. (And vice versa). That seems to be the only way. Until then, they are all committed to where they are. That's my opinion. Japanese people in charge need to push for this if the want to continue to have diversity and help in this majestic endangered species.

@@TheFlashyWeaselнадо было давно к Роле и Монте подселить мелких животных. Гориллы прекрасно сосуществуют с другими видами животных. Во многих зоопарках есть такие примеры. Тогда бы Рола могла дружить с кем-то выше по разуму, чем дождевые черви. Но никто об этом не позаботился. О них просто намного лет забыли. А сейчас, когда Роле и Монте много лет, какой смысл подселять к ним горилл. Роле точно будет тяжело общаться с другими гориллами, она их боится. Боюсь, мальчиков - Киемасу, Рики, Кинтаро и других не удастся пристроить в другие страны в связи с переизбытком самцов во всех зоопарках, недаром их начали кастрировать. Существует небольшая надежда соединить в будущем Энни и Гентаро, хотя это все очень проблематично. Давно надо было готовить им место для совместной жизни, если такие планы существуют. Но думаю, у зоопарков другие планы.

Japan needs to start working with other countries, but they refuse this is why things are the way they are. Differences need to be put aside, and do whats best for the Gorillas. These are endangered species, Japan i know you can do better for your Gorillas. Your at a stale mate. , a cross road that leads to nowhere for these precious Gorillas. I know japan hates America, but we do not hate you other countries would also
