It looks like some of every McLaren after the MP4-12C combined, but with ugly headlights. If they did the headlights better, this car would be undeniably beautiful. Never truly realized just how important headlight design was before this car.

I find it interesting how closely it mirrors the Corvette ZR-1 drivetrain. They both have that integrated headset/turbo inlet that allows the turbos to be as close as possible to the exhaust valves.

Bruce (Leslie McLaren) was a family neighbour here in New Zealand, my older brother had a crush (lol) on his daughter Amanda later. I was 1 year old when Mr McLaren was killed in 1970 :((( My older brother Greg even as a little boy knew he was something super special. I was told later, before Mr Mclaren left NZ, my father and Bruce, who were about the same age, used to play chess together. Looking back those were good times 😞🙏

This should have been the launch video. Up close this thing is incredible, the aero looks amazing! It's taken a couple of weeks (and mainly this video) to digest, but I think McLaren have hit it out of the park with the W1. I love it!

I thought this car looked cool from launch, but this walk around showcasing all the tiny details really makes this car magnificent. That front fender is my favorite part of the car. Especially seeing how the mirrors work with the design as well.

I feel like a lot of people seem to forget that while yes, McLaren does have a lot of special/limited production models and one could question how special each one really is, they need to realize that cars like the Senna, Speedtail, and Elva, are heavily modified versions of the 720S platform. This is the exact same thing that Lamborghini did with the Reventon, Sesto Elemento, Veneno, Centenario, Sian FKP 37, and Countach LPI 800-4. The Reventon was based on the Murcielago, the Sesto Elemento was based on the Gallardo, and the rest were based on the Aventador. In the case of McLaren's 1 lineup, the F1, P1, and now W1 are their own beasts, the pinnacle of performance for the brand at the time. Cars like the Senna, Speedtail, and Elva are obviously special, but like I said, the 1 lineup are the true poster cars, the flagships. Of course, many McLarens are capable of being poster cars, but I'm just saying that the F1, P1, and W1 are the ones at the top.

Also the AMG One should be on the streets for how many years? If i remember correctly, their first plan was 2019, so the car is technically 5 years old. It's a different generation.
