NEW Menu at Mel's Drive-In | Is It Better? Universal Studios Orlando | Full Review

Mel's Drive-In is a quick service restaurant located in Universal Studios Orlando, themed after a classic 1950's style diner and drive-in. The cuisine mostly focuses on standard burgers, fries and milkshakes that've become synonymous with the time period it's attempting to portray.
About 8 months ago, this restaurant closed down for a lengthy refurbishment. The interior was updated, the classic cars that can be found at the exterior of the building were cleaned up, and the kitchen was overhauled to help streamline the service experience. Mel's Drive-In recently reopened and along with theses updates came a brand new menu. While burgers, fries and shakes are still the focus, the menu now offers some interesting new options like in-house made pie and vegan chili cheese fries.
While we've never dined here before, the prospect of an incredible theme park burger and being able to sample the atmosphere of this time period intrigued us. In this video, we go over the new decor, aesthetic and sample of the most notable eats that are available at Mel's Drive-In. At the end we compare this overhaul to the newer quick service offerings in Universal like Minion Cafe and Circus McGurkus Cafe Stupendous. So glad you liked the vegan chili fries. The regular one didn't melt for us either. The vegan cheese is Dayia and they just changed their recipe to make it a little smoother. It's a big step up from what it was.

Thanks for the suggestion 🙂. The camera we use, Sony ZV1, has a lens that makes everything look really close up. We also tend to try to display texture in the broll and cut out the background. Hopefully we'll have a more versatile camera within a year but in the meantime I'll try out some different filming techniques. Thank you! It really means a lot knowing you enjoy the vlogs.

This looks like quick ,easy and good theme park food. They chicken sandwiches would be my go to. Especially if I had a nice dinner planned at night. You need a good balance of quick service and sit down. Another banger video!

Mel's looks like fun...the 50's style, the cars, the little juke boxes. I thought the vegan chili cheese fries looked good! And of course the salad. So out of curiosity do they serve different food during HHN? thanks again for another great video!
