Come on! Get over it, just think about this, they can make such incredible power figures, be sustainable and eco-friendly while still having those performance figures out of a small 4 cylinder! I mean hell yah! Both financially and from performance point of view this makes sense! And anyways most of their cars have seen this trend trickling down their entire lineup, and EV takeover is even worse as compared to this! So let's just pretend/hope things don't get any worse than this! Lol!

It’s a shame they didn’t even go with 6 cylinders, straight to a45 engine that’s already on its brink even though the people who buy these cars usually enjoy tuning them further. AMG lost the plot, no amount of power and ambient lighting will be enough.

On its brink? I've seen people put them upto 500hp, also it have electric assistance and the engine is actually less powerful than the a45s. So essentially tuned versions could hit atleast 50hp more so 730hp, how much more do you need. There's many reasons this engine isn't what we want in a c63 but power isnt one of them

@@yusufkajee7274 They literally say the engine is running about 50hp more than the one in the a45s. I’d rather have a 6/8cyl comfortably pumping out 500hp over a spiced up 4cyl. This car also doesn’t continuously run 680hp that’s only for a few seconds in boost mode, it’s around 570hp most of the time, which with an extra 400kg over the v8 makes it a lot less impressive. I’m sure it’ll be rapid but AMG are unnecessarily overcompensating whilst their rivals still have larger engines in a class below.

Not to mention they are going to charge the same as if this car was fitted with a V8, there is no way that this 4 cylinder cost as much as the V8 yet that is what they will make you pay.

@@Jibrxan yes but if you listen why it's not running the standard turbochargers from the a45s, the reason the engine pushes more power is due to the electronic turbos and not due to increasing load on the engine but by being more efficient with forced induction.

I drove many different performance cars and I know for experience that a 4 cylinder will never be as "smooth" as a 6 or 8 cylinder engine. It has insane power and I'm sure it will be very fast but the driving experience will never be as with the old V8 or the inline 6 of BMW. I'm a little disappointed that only very few journalists are pointing this out. Anyway, thanks for the content as always.

And the fact it doesn’t actually make 680hp, I believe the 680hp is actually a PS figure, so more like 670, and that’s on overboost, I think after 15 seconds it drops back down to 570, or something like that. I don’t hate the car, but it’s not for me, I just see the whole thing as a marketing and gimmick excercise.

At the end it's still speaker amplified sound and your mind knows it..The feeling of the v8 is gone, my y13 c63 has that deep rumbe that gets through your bones you can feel the engine vibration and raw power while reving from 30 up.. am sure ain't 2l will deliver that sensation

So it’s got an electric motor pushing a turbo charger, pushing a four cylinder ice, driving a nine speed transmission, along with another electric motor… and that’s supposed to be a good thing? I guess the guys at AMG have never heard of Occam’s razor. Besides, even with all that, the car in launch mode, and everything set to race, it still won’t beat a Tesla M3P that’s only got two electric motors with one moving part each and a single ratio gear reduction. Don’t get me wrong, I’m an MB guy. I still have a GLE, but traded an E63S for a Model S Plaid and never looked back. Funny thing is, Daimler actually helped saved Tesla when they were still trying to start up (if you didn’t know, look it up).

Like the other MBUX equipped interiors, it's gorgeous and wears its interior as well as its exterior. But what we REALLY WANT is the HYPERSCREEN. A sweeping display that gives the driver two displays and the passenger in front a usable display as well. Mercedes currently has 3 interiors: The A-class, the MBUX and the Hyperscreen. Hopefully, the next generation of Mercedes products will be all Hyperscreen.

Visually a stunning car, but the artificial noises alone are a massive turn off. Even if I accept the i4 engine (which is hard) why not engineer a nicer sounding version of that rather the absolute and outright power figure?
