I’ve had a few work / vacation trips in MI. Not to the UP, but to the North West corner of the lower. Your rule of thumb on the attitude of citizens holds true in those areas. Near Detroit, I double checked car doors & wouldn’t let my wife or kids get out of the car at convenience stores. I didn’t grasp the connection with gun control at the time, but it makes sense now. Not everyone in either area holds those views, but the vast majority will. Thanks for pointing out the obvious differences between urban and rural residents in your future former state. Good luck at your new home state.

Congressman, senators, governor's,mayor's, City council members, judges are all state officials and therefore have no legal lawful authority or jurisdiction to pass or enforce any form of gun control laws under the 14th amendment section 1.

I live in Michigan and I've purchased two new pistols since the law went into effect. Never was I asked to sign a storage mandate. My ammo has always been under lock and key because it makes sense. The only difference with the pistol purchases was this: The store put my CPL number in the pistol permit instead of me writing it in. The store mailed the pistol permit to my sheriff's office instead of me dropping it off myself. Other than those two things, my pistol purchases went exactly as they always have.
