Antonin Scalia said it best in District of Columbia v. Heller... "But why isn't it perfectly plausible, indeed reasonable, to assume that since the framers knew that the way militias were destroyed by tyrants in the past was not by passing a law against militias, but by taking away the people's weapons... that was the way militias were destroyed. The two clauses go together beautifully: Since we need a militia, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

My wife used to be anti gun before she met me. She understands the importance of self defense now and is all about it. That being said, some if my in laws see it as me “corrupting her”. All I can respond with is “no, I’m making sure she had the means and ability to defend herself if it ever came to that. Would you rather her end up assaulted, robbed, and/or dead, or would you rather her be able to stop anyone who would wish her harm?”. She’s not a big girl, and we obviously work at two separate places. I want her to come home every night safe and in one piece. It’s sad that some people see that way of thinking as sick and twisted. 100% correct. Just throw that in the healing pile of hypocrisy that is attached to 2A abolitionist. I wish all we had to do was re-educate our fellow citizens on our 2A Rights. I strongly believe that 80-90% of the people could be ardent supporters of the second amendment and our government representatives would still pursue a total ban on guns. They want powerless subjects. People like Bedo dream of a day where the citizens have no ability to meaningfully resist their tyranny. They are willing to say and do anything to make that happen. It’s never been more clear in my opinion. Politicians now shamelessly advocate for obstinate refusal of Supreme Court rulings. That ideology is impossible to debate and very tough to beat. The people, in Ukraine, who wanted to defend their Country, went to the Government and asked for a Weapon. They HAD to show PROOF that they were from Ukraine with Papers showing that they were in fact from Ukraine and they would get a Weapon after the Government had wrote the Serial Number for the weapon and they signed their name next to the serial number! There was a News Team at one place that were giving out Weapons to the Civilians. They asked, some of the people who were in line, if they had any Knowledge about how the weapons worked? Most of the people, said that they had An Idea of the workings but they weren’t sure how to Load it or how to get the Bullets into the Barrel so it would shoot! The reporter said that these people, had no idea on how the weapon worked! After getting a Brief Overview of the weapon the Government gave each person 3 or 4 magazines and showed them where they were to go? The reporter said, these people had NO CLUE about SAFETY and that they only pointed their weapon at the enemy! This Reporter said, at one of the areas where they were passing out Weapons, that one guy, shot everyone in the line, until it was empty! He told the Government that he didn’t know how to stop it from shooting! A reporter said, the First Month, more Ukrainians were killed by their own people, all because they didn’t know how to use the weapons that were given!

In that case the court decided that the 1st amendment applied to the internet as much as it applied to books and newspapers. On another note, few months ago while in San Diego for work, I overheard a group of younger people talking while I was out for dinner. One person said to the other group, I have a firearm and a license to carry. You have to jump through hoops but its better to have it and not need it. I can only sum it up this way: I've never met anyone who's afraid of guns. I have, however, met a great number of people who are afraid of themselves. They genuinely believe that if they have the capacity to cause harm, they will be compelled to cause harm. They simply don't trust themselves with, what they perceive to be, that kind of power. They then project that instability on the rest of us. I agree with you, Mr. Ayoob, that they are in dyer need of psychiatric treatment. The perpetrators surely didn't have any problems with the fact they had a firearm and knife, and they certainly made it clear they were going to blow my brains out, however didn't in the end. There weren't any police in close proximity to provide me with protection so you can throw that argument out the window. They were caught, charged with three offences, however served no jail time, again a slap on the wrist. I have learned two tale signs of purposeful collapse of society by the powers to be of a totalitarian government/elites; 1. Take the peoples weapons/rights to defend themselves away. 2. Enable crime. If anybody tells you that Australians are still permitted to defend themselves is clearly disconnected with who's side the justice system is backing. Never forget, God help us all.

I’m a retired Prosecutor and Judge and consider myself a Constitutional expert, having used and interpreted the U.S. Constitution on a daily basis. As long as we have the Second Amendment, an individual has the right to possess firearms without regard to membership in a militia. The writers of the Constitution knew how to use ‘conditions precedent’ to limit rights. They didn’t use one in the Second. If they had wanted to require membership in a militia they could have written it thus: The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed “if they are members of a well regulated militia”. However, there is another Constitutional issue based upon Supreme Court Rulings and that is no right is totally unlimited and thus the legislatures can limit “time, place, and manner” with reasonable legislation. So you can be lawfully prevented from carrying guns into schools, for instance, and certain people may be prevented from possessing, an age can be a legitimate limitation. I own and use to carry weapons when working as some people didn’t like what I said about them or did to them. I have four weapons, a small semiautomatic handgun, a 38 revolver, a shotgun, and a semiautomatic rifle. I am not a partisan on either side of gun possession issues and would hand my guns in should our Constitution be changed. Otherwise, I will keep my guns for family protection.
@canadianninja1756 Жыл бұрын
I disagree with the whole “No carrying guns in school” thing. If someone is carrying a gun into school to do terrible things with it, a simple law or sign is not going to stop them. The only way to enforce this law would be to set up airport style checkpoints at the school entrances.
@moodiblues2 Жыл бұрын
@@canadianninja1756 you’re probably right. What a sad situation. Ironically, when I was growing up in the 50s and 60s, you never heard of creeps going into a school with a machine gun killing kids, for God’s sake. I don’t think it had to do with the number of people who had guns either. After all a large percentage of men served in the military during World War Two and the Korean War. What the hell is it about our present time that has so many mental degenerates thinking it’s a grand idea to go and kill themselves some 8year olds and go out in a blaze of glory being killed by police or committing suicide? It can’t be entirely the number of guns, it’s more the number of brain-dead imbeciles with guns.

I am 64, and aquired my ccp four years ago, became as safe and proficient as I possibly could, I regret not to have done it earlier, even though I and my family have been fortunate not to have been victims of crime. I cannot rely on luck any longer. Thank you Mr Ayoob for your very informative videos. God Bless

The more I listen to this man who has more life experience than 10 men the facts are here and presented by a professional and reasonable person.

I like this guy. Professional, sober, rational, unemotional presentation of his argument(s). The pro-gun, 2A, NRA people would be doing everyone on both sides of the argument a huge favor by having someone like him argue their concerns over gun control. I'm pro gub control and registration, and back ground checks. Would you allow a blind person or a person who doesn't have control of their faculties to operate a vehicle or heavy machinery? No, BUT I do see his point concerning government over reach. His argument on the need for assault weapons being to look at Ukraine is false. The USA is not Ukraine and Mexico and Canada are not Russia. I'm sure Mr. Mass can come up with a better argument. And I would listen and contemplate his argument. In regards to his dismissal of men using firearms to compensate for having a small penis, my unscientific response is that some people, both men and women, fetishize firearms. Does a household need the same amount and type of firearms and rounds that would arm a typical infantry platoon? No. But I would contemplate his counter argument. I subscribed to his channel and look forward to listening to his thoughts on the issue.

If 2A is erased, they will take all of the guns. There is no chance for an individual to stand against the government. So don't let the 2A be erased

The best response is to simply say "I don't care what you think, I do what I want when I want and no one stops me because I have a gun".

- No nation in history has ever had to give itself written permission to arm its military. - The National Guard did not exist at the time of the Constitution's writing. Therefore, the second amendment can't possibly have anything to do with arming the National Guard.

Great video. On the issue of the FF and the Bill of Rights -> it was an iteration of the the English Civil War - which established the **right** to resistance against the State in the West. The FF just assumed it was a human right at that point. They knew precisely what they were doing.
