I had the other m12 bandsaw for about 4 years(glazer by trade) and it was by far the most used/valuable tool in my arsenal. I miss it so much I might just have to go and buy this one

OverviewI had an old Black and Decker Firestorm set that was getting very long in the tooth kzbin.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv so it was an easy decision when this set went on sale. I'm not a pro or a handyman. I'm an occasional DIYer. So for me, this set is fantastic. I am very happy with my purchase.The Good Parts Very well priced for what you get Comes with everything you need - two batteries, a charger, and a carry bag The products feel very well made Not too heavy The drills are small and ergonomic (for my smallish hands) Huge ecosystem - Dewalt makes a lot of tools that use the same battery type and chargerCould Be Better I guess I could say that I wish the batteries were bigger, but that's a relatively minor compaint

I think I'll buy this. Much better and more practical than the old one.
@mikemorgan50153 жыл бұрын
Damn! I thought the old one was awesome. This is in a different league. Wish this one was smaller, but increased capacity means more distance between the wheels and therefore a bigger saw and different blades. Amazing speed. Running on 12v is even more amazing. I see they're backing off of the old 5yr warranty though. Hmmmm.
@WorkshopAddict3 жыл бұрын
I don't know if that is a sign of the future or just something for certain tools.

@@WorkshopAddict Good point. Their OPE is all 3yrs as is the M12 inflator. I'm sure there are others as well. The non Fuel sub compact bandsaw is still listed with a 5yr.

I still bought the m18 compact… if i were to suggest an improvement, it would have the light iluminate the bandsaw band showing the cut line,or fit a green laser to it,mainly to get the cuts square down the material

Playing with this more at the bank today I am finding this to be the same speed at the M18. It will handle your needs well.

The big question is are the two pulleys the same size, or smaller, smaller pulleys break blades more often, Milwaukee did a very good job on the older model by giving relatively huge pulleys so the blades lasted forever if you were gentle on them, this saw looks like it might have smaller pulleys, which tends to break the blade long before the teeth get dull.
@dalesworld13083 жыл бұрын
I have it and like it, a heck of a lot better than using a sawzall. Sounds like the spot weld on your blade wasn't ground smooth.
@WorkshopAddict3 жыл бұрын
I can say that I have NEVER got a Milwaukee blade where the weld is good. I have given up on saying the blade sucked, I just expect it. Problem with this saw is that blades are hard to, if not impossible, to find right now.

Milwaukee's big screw up is the proprietary blade length of 30-9/16 in. Makita, DeWalt, Ridgid, Metabo, and Ryobi all use the same 32 7/8 blades on their 2 1/2 bandsaws so their blades are easy to find local. Milwaukee is now hanging out with Bosch with a weird blade length. Bosch uses a 28 3/4 in. blade by the way. Hard pass Milwaukee
@shanekasper45873 жыл бұрын
I agree about the blade length but if you already have the m12 platform it is hard to justify the Dewalt or others.
