I ended up returning mine. It kept losing screws every run... LocTite notwithstanding, the chassis and steering linkage just *lost* screws. The a-arm pins (whaddya callem?) are pressure fit and not captive with a screw or anything, i had to keep one in with tape... I bought the 25mm wheel spacers cuz it wanted to turtle all day. Got myself an arrma granite blx instead, and even though I've already had to sink $100 into the granite for diffs, $35 for a servo, $60 for batteries, $50 for a charger.... I'm still so glad i returned the MJX. Way too much hassle for me.

I love the smiles per mile catch phrase. Kids always ask how fast it goes, I ask them, how fast can you break it? Its a bit of a let down about the servo, but I bet it fits a JX 1181MG. I'm in love with those paddle tires on my wltoys 124008, they make such a menacing noise on tarmac, but that comes in handy when picking speed for jumps at the skate park (and the kids get out of the way). They're dirt cheap too. I glued the holes shut on mine

Yes, the servo is probably the only legitimate downside of this car, it's not something you notice in motion but getting the turning angle you want from a stop can be difficult. I didn't think to try the paddle tires on my WLtoys, but that sounds like a blast and a great idea. You're right about the noise they make on the road. They sound like a giant pickup truck running mudders.

Yeah the wheelie bar is more of a bummer than anything. The car can just back flip standing in place on 3s. The wheelie bar doesn't do much.

Great review of the MJX. Your knowledge of RC cars and theatrics are what makes your videos so entertaining. The only real downside in my opinion is the size but honestly that is not something that you could fault the car for. It seems to have no trouble driving on grass like most 1/14th scale RC's. Awesome rig for sure. 👍

Even thick grass is no problem for that car. It really is a sort of budget RC wonder car. It's multi capable, cheap, super tough, it's just a plain good car.

Both cars would be a great budget option, but I think the MJX just edges out the grom for overall performance. Hopefully Arrma will release a brushless grom, that would be a massive hit! I really appreciate the comment, thank you!

Nice review and testing. I have been tossing up between this and the Hyper Go Lancia. The kids already have a 16208 each and are nigh indestructible. I upgraded the shocks after one was broken and have seen a great improvement in jumping and handling.

I almost got the Lancia version as well. But I started thinking about how much time I spend driving in dirt, grass, hard bashing, and I didn't want to get that like looking Lancia version just to end up busting it up. Still a tough choice, but I guess it just depends what you do most, and which car better suits your rc adventures.

The receiver is protected, but I wouldn't submerge it. It can tolerate water though.

The reciever is water proof the esc ad motor are splash proof however I've seen guys drowned this thing in deep water pull it out no problems they waterproofed the reicever for snow with the paddle tires

Is the servo a mini servo or a regular servo? If it has a small servo can you upgrade it to a regular size servo?

So I bought 14210 and immediately became dissapointed with the controls compared to my other RCs , the controller and motor were very delayed, after replacing the receiver with a more expensive one and the controller the situation has changed little but not much, it turns out that when I press the gas and let it go it continues to drive for a second, it’s very annoying Who else has problems like this? My other cars are instant! So its not the reciver its the ESC i asume, Will gladly swap it over.

Hmmm, that does seem strange. Mine has a very slight delay from a stop as do many budget RC cars, but otherwise it responds really well. I wonder if anyone else had the same issue as yours. I was thinking ESC too after you said you swapped receivers

I got a mjx not that long ago the mini hooni style I like it but not an off roady so this will be great with the 3s batteries I use on my mjx I already have. Win win. I may get a 3rd 3s though just cause.

This car is great off road for it's size. The best all-round MJX so far in my opinion. It's the fastest out of the box, it's super tough. I really put it to the test in the skatepark video before this video. It's not as cool looking as the 14209 but that's the advantage in my opinion. I don't mind bashing this one all over the place because it's not as pretty as the 14209, and it hasn't even cracked the body yet.

Solid basher and fast like a demon. That was my MJX. Now after 2 months of bashing the biggest problem is the steering. If you move the front wheels (especially the right one) with your hands they move like crazy. They slap here and there.... I ordered new servo and other stuff... I would like to fix this issue (on KZbin there's a video about the 14209 that shows the same problem) beca3my MJX turned from a cool enjoyment to a piece of trash.... Sorry if I'm so direct but I'm so sad to see this bad transformation 😣😣😣😣

Hey man! How about throwing on a set of 1/2 inch wheel spacers on this 14210 and then do another review on the handling, maybe add a new servo. Nothing too expensive and gives your audience a better presentation on a couple of upgrades for it🤔

No because I used a 3s battery several times. You just need to find one that fits and there are many.

@@HPM2006 check Amazon and search something like small 3s lipo battery. Gens ace made a really nice one for a while that will fit perfectly, but there are many out there, I'd say Amazon would be your best bet for finding one for your car. They won't have huge capacity, probably under 3000mAh, but once you pop one in , you won't mind.

I'm impressed by how much punishment that car has taken so far. MJX cars are known for their durability, but that one is a step above the rest. Not to mention it's about to do just under 50 MPH. The gap between budget and premium is closing in terms of performance.

Overall the MJX is much more durable. It's not quite as fast as some WLtoys cars but it can take a lot more crashes.

Question for you, I have a 2 battery 16209 on order from Banggood for £75 GBP, this 14210 is going to cost me £134. As you have both, can you tell me if it is worth cancelling the 16209 order for this and if so why? Thanks in advice for your help.

I don't have both. But I have driven both. The 14209 is better looking, but the 14210 is quite faster out of the box and in my opinion it's the better basher because it's less likely to bust up the body. The 14209 being the better looking of the two is actually the reason I didn't buy it. Also, as I said the 14210 is noticeably faster as well. I'm not sure why the price is so different though. Both are great, so I'd say pick the one you think you'll enjoy the most.

It can be set to 50% at its lowest setting. It's still kind of fast at 50% though.

I just got the H14BM for my son today and the throttle stops working after a few seconds, steering and lights keep working but ESC flashes slowly and throttle doesn't respond. Has anyone experienced that too?

Have you checked that the battery is well charged and the motor is plugged into the ESC secure? It could also just be a bad receiver which luckily are very cheap.

I appreciate the quick response. Yes, both batteries fully charged, the plugs are secured connected too but it keeps loosing response from throttle after a few seconds. It be tried adjusting the throttle on the controller nob too but didn’t work.

I got my hypergo 2 a few weeks ago and it is worse then I saw on reviews. The pins that hold the driveshaft keep coming out, I lost 3 already, the wheels are so weak all 4 normal tires are cracked and I did just small jumps, I use the paddle wheels now and no jumps at all. Just another cheap overpowered rc car who brakes all the time.

Not quite, this MJX in the 14210, a 1/14 scale. It's a bit larger, slightly higher Kv motor and a metal chassis.

It's better than the old 1/16 scale car was. There is an updated version of this one now that has a gyro so I'd say that one is slightly better as long as it's as fast and tough, which it seems to be.

@@TheSphongleface something to keep snow out should help, but the one drawback of that car which I talked about in the review for it, is that the servo can be a bit weak in a high grip environment while sitting still. Once moving it's better. For all that cars ability, the servo is slightly weak though.
