ah normal service resumes, been waiting for a new rant for ages and it doesn't disappoint lol, and for the most part I agree with you, don't take so long between rants next time lol

Mind the GAP! 😆 I went to the show last year. It was very busy, a lot smaller than I remember and couldn’t help feeling a bit underwhelmed. Highlight was seeing bikes from the 90’s, GSXR750 etc 🤔

I hope the Norton does well. I wouldn't mind having one of the new ones...

Yes, they can just sponsor us 😎👍

As to the BSA: If it didn't say "BSA" on the tank would we be interested at all? The Nortons: Great looks -- except for the cam cover. The engine looks like a guy wearing a hat three sizes too small. Parallel twin cruisers: Get used to it. It's cheaper to manufacture a parallel twin than a V-Twin. That's why the newest Suzuki SV650 went to a parallel twin. Then there's the popular Honda Rebels. Even midsize sport bikes are getting into the act -- parallel twins have already started to replace (or share showroom floor space with) inline fours (Yamaha R7), but mostly because they emit less unburned hydrocarbons (UHCs) than fours, helping them to pass Euro 5 emission requirements.

I think some people would be still interested in Mahindra with no BSA badge on the same basis as there are people interested in chinese 400cc bikes coming from various brands like Mash for example. If they would advertise it as classic bike with Rotax engine, I'm pretty sure some people would find it cool

They leave the gap, or put a big kick up at the back of the seat, to annoy us short arses. Just how much travel do you need on a road bike?
@UncleLongbeard9 ай бұрын
I'm 5'11, so don't quite feel your pain but it's annoying me as well. Realistically 15cm of a gap is more than enough there

Yeah, my inside leg is 27" so even a skateboard seems tall 🤣 The thing is by having such a big gap the manufacturers are missing a big section of their customers.... plus, the bikes look stupid!@@UncleLongbeard

I think the raised pillion is for passenger comfort. The Indians do look nice!
@UncleLongbeard9 ай бұрын
might be, but I'm really not interested that much in passenger's problems :)

We had a deposit on a Norton Atlas...... it didn’t happen. Don’t think Norton are going to build any reasonably priced bikes 😢 The Kawasaki Z900RS would be my pick in all those bikes. Guzzi/Aprilia didn’t even bother turning up to the show. Shame.

I was that close from giving my money to Stuart the thief as well... That's a pity. It could be a great bike

@UncleLongbeard To think we shook hands with that guy! We sat on the working bike in his house at Donington Hall. Biggest liar out there. Luckily, we got our deposit back. How is that guy not in jail? Yep, The Atlas could have been great.
