I use a chain 2 instead of a chain 1 at the row ends. It creates a very secure knot. Thank you so much for this experiment! It confirms the fact I stopped the extra step of double tying the row ends several blankets ago. 😊

I never have tied ends. Just used the same method as you for the start and end of my row. I also use linked double crochets for my border so no ends will peak through. Great video!!

I always use a slipknot and then I tie a knot. In addition I tie knots to make fringes - I tie 2 strands that have previously not been tied together. My blankets are okay also, even after washing in the machine multiple times.
