Morning Alan. Lovely upgrade. I really need to investigate doing similar to my Myford Super Seven. Thank you for sharing. 👏👏👍😀 Andrew

That's a neat set up and seems versatile. I like the jog function. Good job.

Is the Boxford chuck not a screwed on? Good luck if you want to stop it in 1 second. Just don’t stop it, while standing in front of it, if there is a heavy item in the chuck.

As always Allan a lovely job and well explained, Thank you. I have the same machine as you and have been wondering about changing to this system. I wonder though about the motor overheating. I've always understood this system is hard on the motor as at slower speed the coils are working hard but the fan on the motor is going slower so not enough airflow. That coupled with very limited space in the motor cupboard. What are your thoughts?

Hi Andy I think I would only use slow speed when machining a thread up to a face. In that case I would change the belt to the slower speed which makes the motor run 3 times faster than the chuck speed. I will need to check the motor temperature but there is room to fit an electric fan on the rear of the motor if needed H
