Gumnut, at least in vanilla, is ridiculously overpowered, they might have nerfed it a bit here, but the way gumnut works is that the health of the barrier it creates depends on the health of the zombie, the stronger the zombie it traps, the tougher its barrier will be And yes it works with gargs

The problem with wolfy's playstyle is that he gets something busted then doesn't use it properly then forgets about it and after he is forced to use it he finally realises how busted it is

Gumnut is a really weird plant. You already get the gist of it, but it does have one hidden feature: the more health a zombie has, the longer it lasts. This is especially noteworthy against Gargs. I personally rarely use it but, hey, there's got to be some purpose for it.

Damn that's a 2nd try on the Zomboss that gave me the most trouble by far, good job. Slowly getting towards the non expansion, original worlds for Reflourished and that's what I'm most excited to start seeing.

If sap fling isn't working well anymore, I'd recommend trying snow pea cause it's still good at stalling zombies. I also think that in day 40 your original strat would have worked if you would have replaced gold bloom with some instant use plants. Instants are really useful for getting yourself out of hard situations, definitely use more of them in harder levels.

The thing I like most about Wolfy playing this game (other than the rage and jokes) is the fact that he uses different plants in all the levels. Most people try to just find an optimal build and then just stick with it, but I think this game is at its best when you experiment with wacky shit.

13:24 here's a tip, if you have like 0 sun and a lot of plants, that are not useful to you anymore - get rid of them. Reflourished mod buffed that one upgrade that gives you sun whenever you dig up a plant, so it's not 10-15% of that plants cost, but 50%

I think the power-up rule on boss levels feels fair. But I am the kind of person that doesn't mind someone using power ups to help beat the intensive levels, especially since "They are there for a reason" Use grapeshots + cherry bombs

Remember that you can dig up plants for a sun refund, that would have helped you out a lot in the penultimate level if you dug up the Apple Mortar in the top lane since all the zombies in the top two lanes were dead 16:35 Damn if only you put the Bonk Choy in the middle and then PFd it, it likely wouldn't have killed the Speakerhead (or whatever it's called) but it would have significantly weakened it, and mabye a Guacodile would have killed him.

Sap-Fling slow was reduced from 50% to 30% The reason we did this is to give an incentive for using it in the early game and replacing it with more powerful plants like Winter Melon or Cold Snapdragon later on who have 40% slow, however, since the nerf is minor, you are not punished for keeping it in, we tested it in many levels to make sure it would still be powerful and it sure as hell is

I mean, winter melon and sap fling fill completely different roles (sap fling is supplementary, winter melon is a heavy attacker), but I can see replacing them later on being a thing. Cold snapdragon though? You usually put sap fling in the back, replacing them with cold snapdragon there would just be a waste of resources and time, and they wouldn't even do anything

The way gumnut works is that it turns zombies into barriers, but the more health the zombie has that you block with it, the more health that barrier will have. It also works on gargs to create a pretty much impenetrable wall.

Wolfy Here’s something interesting about Gumnut The durability of the gum increases depending on which zombie it is used on For example, gum used on a Bucket Head or even Stereohead would be trapped for an indefinite amount of time because the gum would multiply based on the HP they have

Intensive Carrot actually works on all plants that need to be eaten to do sth, including Chili Bean which just got buffed, Electricitea and Explodo-Nut, both of which are excellent plants too

I find it hilarious they felt the need to nerf Crap Thing yet buff Chili Bean, Chili is possibly the single best early-game instant killer when you're setting plants up

Debatable. 50% slow was definitely a lot, I think a slight reduction is only fair. And Chili was already decent, but the requirement to be eaten is definitely a big hindrance, so having it's upsides be a little stronger is quite nice

@@GNVS300 sap fling was overpowered in rfl, he completely overshadowed every other slow plant by margins, his nerf was to give an incentive for players to use him in the early game and shovel him up for stronger plants with 40% chill like winter melon and cold snapdragon, although since the nerf is minor, you won't be punished for using him in the late game. The amount of requests for sap fling to be nerfed was insane, generally people are pretty happy with the nerfs we've given him. Chili bean is definitely not the best early game plant, this thing could NEVER compare to things like squash, imp pear and shadow shroom. Seeing Chili bean usage was the rarest thing and we're happy to see people actually acknowledge him now.

gumnut was one if not the best shield plants in vanilla, and so far it seems that has not changed. Tho it does look like gargs can kill it significantly quicker now. They probably nerfed the bonus it gets from zombie health.

Just a recommendation for a gumnut combo, hurrikale to group all the zombies on one tile and then using gumnut on them makes them take a century to eat through all the gum. Also worth mentioning he makes all NMT zombies stop doing their ability... except for the garg who becomes scary af when u use it on him

one of the worst gimmiks the devs could have made: 1. Protect endangered plants : 5 Spore Shrooms , one each lane; You must protect them lol; 2. Dont lose more than 5 plants; Can't dig the Sporeshroom; 3. Optional. Dont have more than 30 plants; Sporeshrooms will slowly eat all plant slots if the player does not intervene; 4. Optional; Have 1 imp on each lane sent after each flag to bait power ups. Ignored they will turn to Sporeshrooms. Seemed like a missed opportunity for a very sadistic level, on par with bwb16.

I'm currently using a supportive setup with Space Johnny, Shadowshroom and Tile Turnip, to lock down the field with the barrier while poisoning the entire board for 1 plant food only. Especially Power Lily can bust this kind of setup. Imagine using Iceberg Lettuce, Shadow Shroom and Space Johnny and it just locks the entire field down shut and poisons it FOR ONE PLANT FOOD. AND YOU CAN MAKE MORE PLANT FOODS

The new zombie is the Goth Punk Zombie. He is tougher than the Punk Zombie and he jams to Ballad (the music that plays on the Boombox Zombie). He can still be removed by the Magnet-shrooms though.
