This is a common oversaturation strategy. You saturate the market with many different variations of a product with confusing or meaningless naming schemes covering all price ranges of interest. This leads to confusion of the end buyer preventing them from building an overview picture of the market and reducing their ability to navigate it. This leaves them at the mercy of local store sales managers of weaving whatever marketing bs they desire and selling at least something which is bound to be your product if you cover all the ranges. Laptop and LCD Monitor market are freakish in this regard - one letter in the naming scheme can mean a whole diffrent product many levels above or below its' price level. The opposite would be Apple's marketing strategy with a limited number of products. But this requires a well thought out product lineup, high margin on each of them and high percieved quality of product. All of this is unachievable in a densly populated open market like running shoes.

Haven’t been doing long runs much, and just working on speed. Decided to run 10miles on Sunday, and 2 miles in, I thought “hell, might as well do 13.1”. Ended up completing it without walking (my only goal for the first race) and shaved 16mins off my time. Went from 2:28 to 2:12. Super proud. Any suggestions welcome. Love the community.

I just bought a pair in the same colour. I pronate and I find all other stability runners have more heel slip than these and with the cushion-react-spring it has in the shoe, that makes this shoe a winner.

QD: we're coming towards winter here in Australia, so the weather is a little unpredictable. I ran 26km at a round 5:15 per km pace. The first 40 minutes was with one of my headlights on, as it was dark, which is ok, but it was drizzling all the way to 22km, which wasn't much fun. I have a Patagonia Storm Racer jacket for ultras and heavy rain, but it didn't appear to be raining and the weather app didn't show any rain, so I took my lightweight spray jacket in my Ultimate Direction belt (just in case). That ended up going on at 13km, because it was starting to sag through the stretchy tabs, it was so wet. It really was a good run, just a little wet. You know the saying, "there's not such thing as bad weather, just soft people". Well I decided I wasn't going to be soft on Sunday.

QD: I had my first bad long run in a loooong time! Set out for 15miles but had to stop in my tracks after 10. Legs were super tired since I had taken it a little too hard last week, and it was blazing hot and super muggy here in Wisconsin; a combo which produced an HR that was 15 bpm higher than the same pace last week. Not super upset though, just learning lessons!

QD. Long run yesterday (Sunday) for me was 2 hours 15 minutes. Covered 29.92km in that time which equates to 4:31/km. Was a little bit tired as the milage for the week was 128km (about 76-77 miles). Also Saturday I ran a 10km (6miles) time trial. Here in Australia 🇦🇺 restrictions are slowly easing and groups of 10 from last week are now allowed (still with 2m social distancing between individuals). A group from my track club got together and ran a 10km time trial around Albert Park Lake in Melbourne which is the Formula 1 Grand Prix track for the Australian Grand Prix. (Channeling Kipchoge running around Monza track on the first 2 Hour Project attempt.) Was happy with my time of 38:37 for 10km as it is the first sub 40 minute 10km I have run in 3 years due to injuries.

I Love my Miler's!!! They are my urban assault vehicles. Bomb proof. These are gonna get dirty! They are workhorses. One of my new favorite shoes. With the Renew Run at between $70 and $90, I have no use for the React Infinity. But I do own the Renew Run, the Miler, and the Peg 37, adding to my Turbo 2's and Zoom Fly 3's. I actually like a heavier, more stable shoe for my long run. I find that if it has good heal to toe off motion and the midsole has good energy return, I really don't notice the few extra ounces. It's the real soft, sluggish midsoles that seem to tire my legs out faster. This looks like a shoe I'd like, but not sure if it justifies spending $130.

I bled into my shoe for the 38 minutes back to the car and sacrificed some gear to create a compress... Looks like I am now on a mid-year, 1 week rest week... which should work out alright as this puts me in line to start a 16 week fall training block once (mostly) healed and hope that those goal races take place (safely) in the fall...

Qod: my long run was tough. I did 17 km and felt like I had to fight for every step. It was my first long run in the heat. A couple weekends ago it was snowing and now we are in a heat wave... That's Canada I guess. Makes it hard to adjust to the heat though, but half way through I realized that this is what I had hoped for when I started running, to be able to run further and explore the world around me! So it was tough but im glad for it! Also, question, when you talk about a shoe being too heavy for long runs, is that relative to what each person would consider a long run or is there a certain km/ mile number that you would say a shoe becomes too heavy for... Like for example for 15km a shoe should be under 9 ounces.... If that makes any sense... Thanks 😊

QD: Long run was only 10 miles (training for shorter distances). It was hot, humid, I went out a bit faster than I planned, and ran out of gas toward the end. But still pretty enjoyable. Running in hot weather is harder, but I still like it better than cold.

Had my longest training run this weekend! 15.5 miles and it felt great til near the end 😂 felt extremely happy though because I was injured for most of my first Marathon training block and only got an 11 miler as my longest run the week before the LA Marathon....going to be so ready for next year 🏃‍♂️

QoD: my long run was short! I’m tapering for a big effort this weekend so instead of my usual 15-17 miles I only did 11.

I just took these shoes out for a spin US12.5. The shoe does look a bit big and like a basketball shoe. lol, Great lockdown, soft and supportive. If I compare this to the Epic React2 this shoe way better. We are still waiting on the Peg 37 to drop in the UK... Grrrr

Before I saw the shoe I thought that too based on the name. I get what they're going for, but I also think Nike needs to replace the Streak and the Elite, so it made sense for this to be a tempo shoe.

My first thought was a shoe for lots of miles. Long distance, that sort of thing. Although, I can see why you'd also think the way you did.

Any idea why Running stores in Canada might be steering away from the Pegasus? You can only really get the 37 from the Nike site. All other running stores don't seem to carry it like they use to and getting rid of older models. The Peg was always a mainstay in running specific stores but not anymore.
