Fantastic review. The GTR is the best driving car ever made for the exact reasons you pointed out. The mechanical symphony of all the parts working together, no car feels like it. You can feel every tiny part working when you drive a GTR. Gives me that same happy/ warm feeling inside every time I get inside ours, just such a nice familiar feeling. Like being with old friends or coming back to your home after an extended trip. Makes me so sad watching this though, knowing that we are quickly approaching the peak of mechanical motoring before everything turns into one big battery on wheels.

The GTR must have cost a lot to develop relative to its sales volume, so they've boosted it to its limit and they're keeping it on sale as long as possible. If they can't justify investing in new sports cars, it's better to have the aging GTR (and the even-more-ancient 370Z) than to have nothing sporty. I'm guessing a GTR would probably still hold its own in a track battle against new cars costing the same? I own a Jaguar XJS, and that was in production for 21 years. The GTR has a way to go! ;)

Also doesn't hurt that this car is surprisingly practical for everyday driving and gets great fuel economy for a supercar. This is definitely a dream car for me. I don't know but several of the current generation of JDM cars really speak to me would make up my perfect dream car garage. That garage would have this Nissan GTR-Nismo, the Honda Civic Type R, the Subaru WRX STI S209, the new Nissan Z Proto Spec and the Acura NSX Type S. Great video! You hit a lot of great points, and everything you said made me fall in love with my GTR all over again. This car is not for everyone, but it is a hero to those who know and understand it. Godzilla.

Absolutely right, it needs to be much more competitive in various ways, not to mention the esthetics that leave a whole lot to be desired for.

As I mainly like old cars, I didn’t like the R35 when it came out but now I’m in love 😍😂

I totally understand how the gtr just didn't advance like it should have. It should have at least 750 hp by now. Maybe even batteries. I think the whole Renault fiasco really held Nissan back.

I have a 2012 Nissan GT-R and it such a hoot to drive. It just puts a smile to my face. I can’t explain it.
