The reason that Top Gear with C,H&M worked as they were just normal blokes. Rory fits this category too, but Chris is too much of an 'enthusiast' and Matt, well he was just there to sell it over seas. Top Gear played to Rory's strength, but the other two let it down. Fantastic review. The GTR is the best driving car ever made for the exact reasons you pointed out. The mechanical symphony of all the parts working together, no car feels like it. You can feel every tiny part working when you drive a GTR. Gives me that same happy/ warm feeling inside every time I get inside ours, just such a nice familiar feeling. Like being with old friends or coming back to your home after an extended trip. Makes me so sad watching this though, knowing that we are quickly approaching the peak of mechanical motoring before everything turns into one big battery on wheels.

I envy you for having a GTR! But also completely agree. I've driven one once and it was everything I wanted it to be. Sometimes a car just feels right in everything it does and the GTR was that for me. Like putting on an old comfy pair of trainers, but somehow it's like that right from the start. Amazing craftsmanship and design. Wish I could afford one. I wonder if anyone will be able to get that mechanical feel from an electric car?

The GTR must have cost a lot to develop relative to its sales volume, so they've boosted it to its limit and they're keeping it on sale as long as possible. If they can't justify investing in new sports cars, it's better to have the aging GTR (and the even-more-ancient 370Z) than to have nothing sporty. I'm guessing a GTR would probably still hold its own in a track battle against new cars costing the same? I own a Jaguar XJS, and that was in production for 21 years. The GTR has a way to go! ;)

I LOVE this car! What people don't understand is that not everything new is better especially if you don't dedicate the budget and the research and development to make it better. I will take a Japanese engineered platform that has been refined for 14 years over a brand new, rushed to market Renault developed car any day. Also doesn't hurt that this car is surprisingly practical for everyday driving and gets great fuel economy for a supercar. This is definitely a dream car for me. I don't know but several of the current generation of JDM cars really speak to me would make up my perfect dream car garage. That garage would have this Nissan GTR-Nismo, the Honda Civic Type R, the Subaru WRX STI S209, the new Nissan Z Proto Spec and the Acura NSX Type S. All these are amazing driver's cars and I believe all these cars are modern day classics that will only appreciate in value and desirability once they are gone.

Great review, the fact that this car is still on a performance level with newer more modern rivals shows how good it actually is. The next gen gtr will destroy the opposition, people just need to be patient about how the Japanese do things. I would buy this car in an instant.

This channel deserves way more subscribers. Rory! Awesome review mate, everything was beautifully put together. I remember seeing a documentary on evolution of Skyline and was shocked to know that even with R32, they have capability of up to 1000 hp on stock gearbox. No doubt it’s the first choice for many enthusiasts. It’s just timeless.

That comment about letting the car sort itself out after sending it around a corner is exactly why I love my G35! I have a CTS V, it’s fun, wild, but I absolutely love how my G35 comes out of drifts and pretty much always rights itself in very a smooth manner, such a satisfying feeling!

Super review all round - can't think of a better on KZbin. I guess Nissan have Kaizened this rather than go for a more radical Kaikau redesign because it's the end of the line for these petrol cars. They are finishing with the most perfect example they can make. The price is for a museum piece as much as a car to drive.

The Nissan GTR is simple, handcrafted engine, all the parts work perfectly together it works as one and the effort of the time is slowly but noticed. It’s the small details that matter. It’s not flashy you just know it’s a GTR it’s not technology based . It’s easy to use and to truely enjoy the vehicle you have just bought

The GTR hasn’t made much progress in performance because it’s performance has been spot on from 2007 when it first came out. The only place where it hasn’t been spot on is the interior, luckily they fixed that with the 2018 model. Still, mega cool machine, I remember getting to know about cars back in 2017, and watching this smoke supercars in drag racing and fast road driving and Top Gear’s race across Japan with this thing was my favourite feature.
