Other brands need to take a page out of Nomos. Even when a release isnt my cup of tea I still can respect their moves. 31 color variations AND a LE cheaper than the normal production? Damn. Kudos to nomos for knowing how to generate buzz and reward their community.

I'd happily have about half of those... 🤣 Great vid as always. On a slight Tangente tangent, I notice the specs say waterproofing is '30m (splashproof)'. Those are very, very different things! 30 meters of water in your face is more than a refreshing splash... why is waterproofing so badly communicated?! Surely it's half the reason people insist on otherwise unusable depth ratings - they're very hard to trust. I'd be happy with about 10m of resistance if that was genuinely enough to stay dry down there, but in reality even 30m may only be safe for the bottom of your sink (despite being near the 40m limit for recreational scuba). Who wants to take that risk? No wonder people want 200 or even 300m, even if we could wear the latter to break the world record...

The inconsistency is partly due to the ratings in theory being for water temperature one would swim in which tends to be much cooler than what we use to wash our hands and bodies in. The hotter temps don't play nice with the gaskets used for water resistance leading to these frustrating ratings

I'm impressed the prices aren't a rip off 👍. The angular date aperture doesn't fit with the design, a circular date would have looked better. I suspect some of the colours will sell much faster than others!

They’re one of the few brands that I feel like aren’t taking the piss in the process department. Like… in house movement, they’re tested to chronometer standards (although aren’t sent off to COSC to keep the prices down) and some serious watchmaking going into these! Big big nomos fan!

Love the Tangente 38, my favorite of these new colorways is the Dunkelbunt. Unfortunate about the extra long lug-to-lug though, it just won’t fit my small wrist. Look at how loose it was on your wrist! That would be unwearable in my opinion.

Sweet Odin, that is a lot of colorway combinations! The Green and Grey (Schlossgrün) is really a solid pairing and my favorite. Definitely a colorway for any taste or preference! That price point is on point! Compared to other releases this is very accessible compared to the pricepoints of new releases by its peers.

I was super excited coz Nomos did amazing job design-wise. Aaand excitement was completely gone when I found out about limited edition - can’t buy them right now (due to reasons) and most likely wouldn’t afford it in 2-3 years from now, coz price will be much much higher on secondary market.

I dont think that the long lugs make the tangente wear larger as much as the dial-to-case ratio. Here you have a dial thats larger than what many watches over 40mm have, so it can wear even bigger than a 42mm watch (especially when combined with the lugs). For example my Seiko mini turtle has a case diameter of 42,3mm, but dial size of 30mm so it wears much smaller

Hi Britt! Look, I know you’re Canadien so pronunciation (even in English) is going to be difficult, but I am here to help! “Tangente” is not pronounced as if it were French. Correct pronunciation: “Tan” is pronounced the same as in “sun tan.” In “gente” the “g” is hard an the “e” has the same vowel sound as the number “ten.” The follow with the third and last syllable, “uh.” Accent is on the first syllable. “TAN-gent-uh.” That said, I love your enthusiasm for Nomos. They are great watches! In colors, I’m torn between the Rambazamba and Lemonbiscuit. The Lemonbiscuit would coordinate really well with my Yellow Mustang! Great video! These look interesting. They make good watches. I know a fellow from the local coffee shop with a Tangente, it’s completely underwhelming truth be told. These appear far more dynamic. With respect to the long thin lugs, I must admit, I like watches from the Bauhaus school of design, but perhaps sparingly.
