Love my Photic colored 106 Sportsman. And the Minnkota is a beast. I purchased mine last year, and I'll never sell this boat. I sold my oldtown predator 120 which I loved, with my Bixby j2.

I'm 71 yrs old and only a leisure fisherman. I'm not a guy that fishes but once or twice and mostly on pretty days. What's your thoughts?

Mine has spoiled me as well. For Yak fishing, it’s a huge game changer to be hands free. What lake you fishing? I’m around the Tulsa area, it didn’t look familiar from the places I’ve been.

I'm trying to get a Oldtown sportsmen 120, having trouble finding it in stock. The 106 is on stock at a alot of dealers. Wondering if it's worth settling for being 6'4 and 190lbs. 🤔 I just don't want to feel cramped. I've only owned 12ft yaks paddle kayaks.

Man I would say you’d definitely feel cramped, unfortunately. My personal yak, at the time, was a Nucanoe Pursuit. So I had all that open deck space. The only saving grace about that 106 was that the trolling motor sits flush. So it was a decent amount of deck for me. But I think it’d be cramped for you

Man I really need Old Town to put this drive in a 12ft yak. They've discontinued the Predator MK and I really don't want a 10ft and I damn sure don't want to pay for the AutoPilot models.

cswann8 man I feel ya. I have a 13ft Nucanoe pursuit and could definitely tell the difference in ‘lack of boat’. But on the other hand, I was a HUGE fan of how nimble it was. I took out a 12ft PDL the other day, video coming soon, and found myself actually missing the agility. If you can ever test one out, I definitely recommend

@@OklahomasWorstAngler As it turns out I may have sourced a new Predator MK. I really want the space, stability, etc. of a bigger kayak. This will be my first kayak so if I get one that's not as nimble I won't have any frame of reference so I won't be thinking "wow...what a big, clumsy kayak I have". It'll just be "normal" to me. Later on...I might get a 10ft paddler just for having fun on the water, and not so much a serious fishing rig.

I envy you sir Lolol I got my 106mk a few weeks ago off amazon... it had wiring issues and the battery tester never worked and the motor would cut in and out constantly! Old town was quick to replace it a week and half later but the second one came in and the front end was smashed in shipping... the 3rd one is coming Wednesday! For the love of god, wish me luck 😂 i just want to get on the water 1 time before it gets cold lol old town customer service is great... however Old dominion with whom they ship with is horrible.... beware before buying this kayak guys, local is better.

@@micksmith5641 I think with the difference in the price point, I’d go with the 106. Spot lock is nice, no doubt! But I had little issue being able to control staying in a close proximity with slight adjustments of the motor.
