It feels a bit like they are running out of ideas. Love the game, I have 200+ hours on, but lately... Some operators are just out of context with the game. Iana for example, does feel out of context in a Elite Operators from some of the most renowned Special Forces. Flores, one of my fav characters lore wise as I love his attitude and charm... Same thing. Absolutely no sense to be there. Azami same. I wish they sticked to the Military Operators rather than adding paratroopers or mercenaries.

I feel like the robots having fully auto rifles was a last second change because that makes a team right there: a shooter and a spotter. Not really sure why a robot would need a spotter, but I could see that having been the original idea.

You're half right. You do play as the robots and they are controlled by the operator off screen, but both robots are on the same side. You can basically swap back and forth between them, but whichever one you arent currently controlling is obviously vulnerable to be killed

Why even make the operator an existing character if you never actually play or even see her in the actual game? Why even have real people go into operations anymore if you've got a robot that can do it all? Why choose a sniper character and have her not be a sniper? If there’s two droids then it’ll still be her character emblem and we’ll be either the Attacker or Defender Droid but kinda roleplaying like she’s controlling them. It’s an interesting take on an Operator who is confined to their space but I’m interested to see how it plays out. I can also imagine the Droids operating like how any Operator has when they have body armor on them so it’ll take a lil more to take them down too.

If I had to guess you can either choose either robot to use on attack or defense. Choose one robot to use for either round and she is a dedicated attack or defender. Or each of those things gets 50 and if one dies you then control the other.

As a Greek person I'm quite offended at how poorly this was done. Like, instead of getting a Greek voice actor to do the lines, they chose some English speaker who clearly had no clue what a Greek accent was, plus the fact that yoy don't even get to play as the Greek operator her self, but some robots, so what's the point of even doing this. Also most of the other operators like the Russian and Asian operators aren't even voiced by those whom speak the local language of where the character originated from but rather done by American, Canadian or British VAs whom primary tongue clearly being English.
