Blues? I tune it right out. When in junior high in the early ''70s, had a crowd of fellow band members who loved Jerry Lee Lewis, I tolerated the blues & the generic crowd who pissed their pants over Jerry Lee Lewis. Then I went to late 60's -early '70s rock(groupies that didn't know a Maj. C chord from if I'd said KEY OF H minor, then to jazz; JAZZ, my first love since hardly out of my diapers in the early sixties. Rock brought in some money to add to my lawn mowing/general handy man money as a teenager in the '70's. My point: Play your instrument and enjoy music playing or find another band, go solo, or get out of the music field when there are several fields which will earn you a good or better living.

Many thanks for this video! This tutorial simply exploded my mind. Was looking long time for such a simple but so harmonious accompaniment. It changes my perception about playing blues and opens to me a huge domain to be explored, having this as a baseline. Have also to mention your refined sense of humor.

I saw your hands go for all the notes I know for a blues groove, so assumed it would be the same groove. Then you wedged that triplet in - and bang, there's the gumbo! Can't wait to try it.

It's worth noting that whilst changing from one chord to another, you only play the 6th of that chord in the LH not the Root & 6th. Took me a while to figure that out :) (I'm a guitarist trying to learn piano).

Hi aimée. Nice one. Still the french guy. I got it quite quickly but the hard part is getting a good fingering when you switch form one chord to another on the left hand so you get a nice transition between chords. To my point of view you are a little quick on that part. But very nice any case.
@AimeeNolte7 жыл бұрын
raymonnn i'll try to be more thorough in subsequent videos. Hopefully you can just rewind it a few times and maybe get what you need. Thanks so much for watching.
@raymonnn7 жыл бұрын
Ty you for your quick answer. Its a pleasure to watch. I choose not to do any eight note when switching between the one and the four chord on the left hand. im just doing two quater note here. Don't know if its right but its easier. Hope you see what i mean. Any case very nice blues and easy to play.

What do you think about foot pedals for piano? tremolo, wah...? or is that just too much?
@wesboki5 жыл бұрын
That's NOT Dr. John Style. Pinetop Perkins, maybe. Which takes us to Chicago, as the song-title suggests. BTW: I recommend playing the left hand (on the IV and V / "C", "D") an octave lower. It's a BASS line after all.
@susanpenziwol34117 жыл бұрын
It would be a great idea if you could post the notes above the keyboard. Hard to pick up the notes as well as proper timing when you're playing both hands together. Thanks.
@rayhope40557 жыл бұрын
Hi Aimee, on one of your videos you mentioned briefly about working with someone on your fingers that gave a bonus of a better stretch. I can reach an octave but would love to have the ease of doing so. Any information would be great , thanks Ray

Ray Hope I don't remember saying anything like that....🤔🤔you sure?

Thank you Aimee! The D Major gives me a hard time too, would you say we can use as fingering there a 2-3-1 instead of the 1-2-1? So, index finger on the F natural, middle finger on the F sharp and thumb on the D? In that case we should put a middle finger on the following G.
@AimeeNolte6 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t that be a big stretch with your pinky on the D?
@IvegottobeFrank6 жыл бұрын
Good point, I guess it depends on how big one's hand is.
