thanks for the video - I've been to Jazz Fest eight times - it is never to the point of "very muddy conditions" ........flooded maybe, but never very muddy

Keep going and you will get to experience the mud at some point. I have been when it was both cold and very muddy. I've had the opportunity of many more Fest years though so the weather has done crazy things over the years. If you talk to some long time Fest veterans you will hear some intersting stories and definitely plenty of muddy experiences. Many people wear shrimp boots or other rubber boots due to the mud... of course sometimes the waterr floods up to your waist and the boots don't help that. www.wwltv.com/article/news/local/muddy-grounds-arent-stopping-the-jazz-fest-fun/289-159098257

Sadly it has gotten so expensive the last few years many locals can't afford it anymore. The variety of food and sheer amount of music each day is a very amazing experience! Austin, TX modeled their Austin City Limits Festival on Jazz Fest but it is nothing like the New Orleans event as far less music and MUCH less food variety. No other festival is quite like Jazz Fest! Two weekends which is now almost two whole weeks! A locals secret that used to be a good deal is the WWOZ Brass Pass which allowed you to leave and re-enter the fest which you can't do with a standard ticket. Tha Brass Pass has gone up so much in price it isn't the good deal it used to be. I miss the days not so long ago when we could go all.of the days of Fest and then we had friends who lived nearby that would have parties the entire time with even more food! Many of those who lived near have moved away and most can't afford more than a day or two of Fest now. Some hard core Fest folks can still afford the thousands of dollars it takes now to do all of it the way we used to enjoy it all for a few hundred dollars pre-pandemic. At current prices it is still an amazing experience and doing at least a day or two is certainly an amazing experience other than the sticker shock of what they charge for some things inside the Fest. Lots of people bring their kids and have a great adventure with the whole Fest experience. You can also pay to park nearby if you get there early enough at some of the churches and at Deutsches Hause. Of course French Quarter Fest is a similar experience with similar or the same food vendors and it is FREE to attend!

@@NOLAGent1 Free is always good, especially these days! I don't know how people afford such expensive experiences, honestly! I mean, things these days will run you dry, financially speaking! Glad you can still go at least for a day or two, but ahhh...the good ol' days!
