I still am not sure what the difference is between 401 and H&G.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is my understanding: 401 is the revamped old demo with new spaces and whatnot. Not all the spaces and rooms actually fit together the way they should. At first it was just to keep people interested in the project, but now it morphed into a project of its own. H&G is being built from the ground up, beam by beam, plate by plate, so every space and room will be exactly where it should be at the exact angle and size and the beams and details and bolts will all be as close to where they would be as possible. I see 401 as "This is what we have currently" and H&G as "The Real Deal"

@@MoccaDeShibetbf i don't think they're doing it completely from scratch, rather that they're changing how it's done, instead of just building rooms completely independently from each other and joining them after the fact, they'll all be modeled as one cohesive structure Also, I believe at some point once H&G proper is complete they plan on doing a sinking mode and the new model is being optimized with that in mind, which the older demo models featured in 401 are incapable of

Couldn’t be happier with this announcement! They’re absolutely brilliant! One of the best ways to make the Titanic tragedy more personal is to learn details of the lives of the people who actually experienced the event. They become more than a list of names, they are people who lived once and deserve to be remembered. Encyclopedia Titanica is a definitive source for this.

Congrats on the new partnership with Encyclopedia Titanica. As a gamer with low vision, I do hope the log book feature will have large enough fonts for those of us with low vision to see it, without having to invoke Windows Magnifier, which I have to do, every time I run up Demo 401, and go into the main menu. Very much looking forward to Project 401.

Rabbit hole indeed. Definitely sounds like a good direction to go into, a tangible living history that will surely inspire historians, Titanic enthusiasts, writers/authors, content creators, artists, and more. I appreciate channels like this that steer away from any morbid fascination around Titanic, and the nautical historical, and humanities history gets to be the star. This ship is definitely THE ship that sank that everyone knows about, and the tragedy of her lone voyage is often THE imprinted legacy on our minds, but there is so much more underlying the tragedy narrative that keeps us coming back. Good storytelling, community, our human desire to remember the past and honor the dead.

T:H&G successfully shipped Britannic: Patroness of the Mediterranean. What is stopping THG from monetising the Alpha (when it comes), with a several dollars purchase price on Steam? Of course, final game gets a new Steam listing with an appropriate price.

I think I've heard them say the finished version of Project 401 with proper sound design and music will be paid, then the H&G alpha will be exclusive to their Patreon I think

Wouldn't call that successful... they dumped it before all issues where addressed and the project is completely dead in the water... that's not "successful" in terms of respect towards your customers...

@@NPC_-mf4dw I think you misunderstand the intention of the project. The project was always finite, and really a proof of concept. It was mostly a museum experience. At launch, it was quite functional for most people. Some had issues, sure. There always are some people. I don't recall encountering any problems or bugs, but that was my PC.

By this point, I start to think that people with problems are running Nvidia geforce gt9400 GT cards on an Intel Celeron.
