Rav that is a fantastic design you have made. Instead of a stair step it looks as though you are looking down a hallway in each section. I love it! A shame the other bottom came apart but I think it looks better this way. Those little hall ways get all the attention that way. Now you can make something that will focus on your other design. Well done my brother! Gary

Thank You very much, Gary 🤝😊 I thought the same when the bottom has split. Too much designs in one project is over combined and looks not good. Wood always knows better 😃 My wife gave me a real challenges. One is almost finished but the rest is out of my mind, for now. I will face it soon 💪 All the best brother 👍🙏 Rav

I love the design of this bowl from the original base to the illusion created on the sides. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and with your consent, I will certainly be giving this a go. Alan

Bro, woodturning makes me calm. Need to go to my workshop even to sit there for a while, clean up or to choose some blanks for next projects. I have even back to workouts to release this whole bad energy.

Thank You very much for everything, especially for prayers, Michele 🤗🌹💜 Lately I'm very concerned on war and political problems on whole world. My brain is working on high speed to search infos and join them in one piece to get know what is really happening now and to have objective opinion. Lies and half truths are spreaded in TV and in web. Sometimes I'm turning some projects to not get crazy with all of this but have no time to edit videos. Few very nice and original projects are done. Maybe today I will edit one of the videos. Have a great Easter 👍

You had a beautiful bowl that came apart on you. I’m glad that you’re saving the bottom for another project. The maple square is a great idea. All the parts go together well to form a beautiful bowl. I don’t know what you do with your work, but I imagine your wife will want to keep this one. It is beautiful.

That is a beautiful design! I really like what you did with the segments. I have not been a fan of segment turning, but the more I see from others, the more I like it. A fantastic idea. And talk about persevering through adversity! Nice recovery! The second outcome is very good, as it highlights the segments more. Really nice job.

I think you and Gary are speaking the same language, Rav. I was trying to think of a term to describe the visual illusion you created and Gary said it. It's like looking down a hallway. Very cool! So sorry your bowl separated but, again, I agree with Gary. With your new base it gives the rest of the segments a chance to do their work and shine. This is just a really great piece, my friend, and you should be very proud of it! 😊 Phil
@Secondlifeofwoodturning2 жыл бұрын
Thank You very much, Phil🤝🤗 I'm delayed a bit but slowly I'm trying to reply on comments. While making this feature ring I was thinking all the time to insert wood pieces in right position and to not make a mistake like with a star 😁 A hallway illusion is a nice optical trick which I borrowed from cutting boards I have seen in web. With this bottom this bowl looks much better so splitted bottom wasn't so big disaster 👍 All the best my friend 👍 Rav
