Nice video! I ordered this model w the 200 watt panel. Glad to see I didn't have to buy cable extensions for the panels and that each panel has a leg on it unlike some other brands. Thanks for a great video that brings ot down to layman's terms. I needed one for my ice house and camper ( run a CPAP machine) and other things. I like the quick charging.

Comments about charging. 1. What you see on the screen is just an estimate. 2. Your started from zero. When you do that the bms on some machines with try and rebalance the cells and I believe that is what happening here. Charging for a while at 100% is normal. 3. Especially if it's one of the 1st times. The bms is trying to learn. 4. You said "while it was charging you couldn't use it. Yes you could. :) good video! I am liking the pecrons I have got my hands on. They are made from quality parts.

Another excellent and informative video. I am very new to emergency battery and solar panel use. Curious -- When having an emergency battery for home outage use, can a battery be powered (continually maintained) from AC all day long every day to stay fully powered, ready for emergency use, or should the battery be used to a certain degree periodically to maintain proper condition of the battery? Like, maybe use the battery once a week until it gets down to 20% power, then recharge it using AC, and do this every week, or once a month? Thanks.
@TechMadeEzy
@TechMadeEzy Жыл бұрын
I would put all that use on it. Keep in mind it has 1000 cycles then the battery goes to 80%. I keep my batteries to 30-50% when I don’t use them.

Thanks for the very instructive video! Q: I have a radio transceiver using on max 100w effect 12v DC & 25A. Could I use the wire with the XT60 plug, remove the crocodile clips, and use that to power up my transceiver? I take it that the 12v/30A output is a stable power supply and not a car-like "jump-starter" that only works for a few seconds.
@TechMadeEzy
@TechMadeEzy Жыл бұрын
Robin. Good question but honestly, I really don’t know it’s very creative idea but that would be something you need to test on your own.
@TheCinmatra
@TheCinmatra Жыл бұрын
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks! I really think it is weird that most power stations come with rather elusive specifications on DC voltage & Ampére. In this case, it says "12v 30A," which is highly misleading if it is only for a few seconds of jump-starting a car. Hmm... Your suggestion is for me to purchase one and see if it does deliver a stable 30A on 12v DC. Could be a USD 1000 + shipping right out of the window. What is even more surprising and not that reassuring is that the manufacturer in China does not seem to know if this is gonna work! Haha! My alternative seems to be something like the Hyundai HPS 1100, but that has a lower 1090Wh on fully recharged batteries & also takes considerably longer to recharge (6-18 hrs). The Pecron E 1500 Pro has 1450Wh & fast recharge (1-2 hrs). And I cannot figure out the output ampére with 12v DC! It seems to me that it is only 10A, but I´m not really sure. - puH! For radio amateurs like me, the transition from noisy & polluting fossil-based power stations should be warmly welcomed. These battery-powered ones seem more environmentally friendly. With a low-power transceiver (up to 100w), they will run more silently even with fans on and do not require lots of petrol cans on expeditions out in nowhere land. Two portable solar chargers will do fine, especially if they can charge the station simultaneously with using it. I really think the manufacturers should wake up and provide us with exact information. If they don´t, and it is too much of a hassle to figure out on our own & with your excellent videos, we´ll just go for the good ol´ petrol-based power stations. With millions of radio amateurs all over the world eagerly going portable to activate rare islands, light-houses, mountain peaks, rare counties/oblasts/regions, etc., this technology could really simplify things a lot. In March 2023 I´m off to St. Brandon Islands some 400 km North-East of Mauritius. I just need to make 100% sure that I can rely on the power station that I bring with me. At least for my three weeks stay there:)

33:57 "when we charge this and it hits a hundred percent like we showed you in the video it's still pumping for 500 watts into this thing for minutes and minutes and minutes so I would like this to be a hundred percent and stop Charging but it does charge for I don't know if it was 10 to 15 minutes more" You probably know that the battery cannot be charged to the end at full power, but the charging power is reduced towards the end. Similarly, the fact that you don't always charge the battery really full and always discharge it really empty, gives the battery many more cycles. So maybe the manufacturer has decided that they show the battery as 100% when it is only 80% or 90%. they save both battery chemistry and your nerves when you can start using the backup power source thinking it's full - even though it's not. This can also be a good thing, that when the battery weakens to 80% after a few hundred cycles, it is more difficult to detect - and thus the battery seems to have a longer life than it really is.
@TechMadeEzy

What will be available in the Spring? 1.) Lithium ion is improving. 2.) Competition will have a devastating effect on quality and price? What will be the practicability of the fast growing technology, e.g., automotive industry, enhancing charging stations mobility? Specifically, take the charging station in the trunk of the automobile? Recreational Vehicle. Total self sufficient? Homes? Get completely off the grid? Possibly, all of the aforementioned in a very short (2) two years. Thanks for the video.
