Have they supported the pinion gear with a bearing. From the bottom end on these. The 3 didn't have it.

These reps know their products quite well. These slammers look very nice. Needing a new river/lake/tailwater/under dam striper reel. Debating on black van staal 50, saltist mq 4000, or a penn slammer 3 or 4. Leaning towards the staal because of the 9 Oz weight.......

Hi there I want to ask your opinion about the new slammer iv 2500 I've got a spinfisher vi 2500 and i want to understand the level of water tightness between those two reels The spinfisher vi 2500 is a ipx5 water proof reel and the slammer is a ipx6 I want to know how many more water sealants the slammer iv 2500 version brings comparing with the spinfisher vi 2500, and where they are located I'm sorry to bothered you with this question but I think that's a very good question for us buyers I want to understand if it's a real big difference or it's just penn's propaganda i dont want to spend money just to fish with a new model if the diference its not that much in the water tightness. I'm very satisfied with my spinfisher. And let's just say that I fish every weekend in very rough salt water conditions

I was all in on Penn, run a 6500LL for gar 7 sharks and ocean fishing, run a 3000 battle II for streams creeks lakes, etc. The 3000 started to get very hard to reel, then locked up. the metal gear that converts the crank to the up and down - it blew up - shattered. I sent it in to penn for repair - that was a month ago , checking the box on their form to call me with an estimate. - and so far - no contact, looks like i go to shimano
