Thank you so much for showing all the necessary steps. The Plex crew is great at touting the features but is LOUSY at documenting step-by-step how to enable the sonic matching. I would have preferred a textual how to but your narrative is great at explaining the underlying logic so that certainly adds value beyond merely helping me to implement. This makes your tutorial among the best at clearly showing how to-- and without wasting time.

Have been using Plex for a few years now, and Super Sonic works great, not just on PlexAmp, but across Roku Plex App, and other apps too!! I run Plex across 2 Linux Servers, one for Video with a Quadro GPU and almost 70Tb of HDD and the other for Music with around 6Tb HDD. My servers are modest 3rd Gen Intel CPU's, and Sonuc on an i3 took a week to do my collection of over 3000 albums, but it was worth it!! Album collection is growing, and my families lust for Film and TV Shows knows no bounds and well, Plex just works, and I am a Lifetime Pass user too!! Cheers for the video and great that a Vlogger is promoting such a great piece of software.....

Thanks for this video. I love Plex and had no idea about this newer feature. I hate making playlists manually and this should help me to play my songs when I'm in a certain mood.
@dutchkel3 жыл бұрын
I also would rather use this than making lots of playlists. I'm excited for it
@sjsphotog3 жыл бұрын
Forget playlists just pick your fave artists of the day and do a Radio Statio of that artist and it will randomize the songs that are similar, like if you Pick Joe Satriani it will play a bunch of great guitar players music like Van Halen, Steve Vai, Jimi Hendrix, etc etc. whatever you have in your library that is similar. same goes for a song you like. you dont have to use this new feature to do this. just hit Artist, then pick on, then when it shows you the artists page hit the "radio" icon (the icomn that looks like this: ((o)) in the upper right corner under the bug Play icon button. enoy

I just turned this feature on so lets see how long it takes...... To date I have 18,764 tracks / 1,709 albums, 414 artists in my Plex server on my WDMyCloudEX2 Ultra NAS but still have a lot more CDs to RIP to FLAC and add as well. Good uck Lon. Keep up all the great work

Unfortunately that NAS has an ARM processor that’s not compatible with this feature.

I love Plex and have used it for years. However, I wound up abandoning it for music, because there was no way to exclude the music library from being included in the “automatic” scan process, which just slowed everything down to where it took forever to scan my movies. If Plex would provide an option to exclude a library from the automatic scan process, and just enable the manual scan process when needed, that would be wonderful.
@HardcoreNacho3 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave you can to a degree. Plex allows you to select a feature that says to only scan the library that it detected a change. Found it last night when my library took forever scanning everything just for one new CD I added.

Lon, does plex music player support playlist that have 24 bit 96khz on them?
@andresvaldevit36923 жыл бұрын
I have Plex Pass and I'd like to say I'm glad to have this feature too now but seriously who owns his own music anymore? I own 3 or 4 CD and the rest is on Spotify. For music is different from movies and series, there's way too much music and new stuff is released continuously. I'll still be using Spotify.

Curious to know what program(s) you use and maybe your flow to rip and process your music CDs? I usually first rip with EZ Cd Audio Convertor and then run through MusicBrainz Picard to finish up. While I'm at it what is your file naming preference? I could never decide the benefits within the album folder to naming "artist - track# - track title" or just "track# - track title" I have a lot of music that consist of 1or 2 songs per album since many times those are the only hits which are my preferences. Also have you found any tagging preferences? Hey buddy, maybe I just came up with an idea for future video...LOL
@sjsphotog3 жыл бұрын
also get a FREE copy of MP3tag to make any changes to song or album titles or covers (that EAC doesnt come up with) after the fact.
@MarcSchnapp3 жыл бұрын
I particularly like dbPoweramp CD Ripper. You'll be thrilled to know that it can consult Musicbrainz so it might reduce your need for the extra Picard step-- unless you like to add some of the more esoteric tags.

Best way is track number-artist - title.mp3 - nothing else necessary! My sister insists on including the album name - but that’s in the main folder - also doesn’t like using any of the following: & - preferring to use And; Ft or Feat, preferring to use Featuring; Mr or Dr in groups like either of the two Mr Bigs or Mr Mister or Dr Hook, preferring to type Mister Big, Mister Mister or Doctor Hook; Roman numerals, like George Hamilton IV, preferring George Hamilton The Fourth - it was as much as I could do to stop her “correcting” Charli XCX to Charli One Hundred And Twenty - 120 in Roman numerals is CXX! Ray Parker Jr or Sammy Davis Jr - no - it’s Ray Parker Junior or Sammy Davis Junior - except that she keeps spelling it Juniour! Some modern acts are someone Vs someone - no - it’s versus - except she keeps typing it as verses! All of which results in a long-winded file name!

Thanks for posting your time to crunch with your proc man. Quad core celeron here… 180,000 songs to crunch through… if 1 day at 1000 on an i9 is the processing time. Then if my nas proc is most likely 10 times slower… then 10 days per 1000… and that means 1800 days… wow. Guess I’ll turn that off now.

Plex is useless. New version does not work and there is NO support for Plex Pass users. Was working until the last few version dates. 1) Says it cannot find server or 2) it cannot connect because there are two servers of the same name. There is only one. So, do now waste your time or money on this junk!

Wtf, it's not plex fault that you don't know how to setup server!?

@@ivabukorovic4991 I been using plex for many years. Two out of every three version /so called updates or upgrades have major issues. Evidently you do not use plex or you would see the major bugs. Plex came out with a so called fix to the issue, then the next day had to fix the fix because it caused other problems. They do not take time to test their updates, they just push them out hoping no one will notice the new problems until the next update. Extremely poor strategy and business model.

@@rsmith5201 So sorry to hear that. Yeah, you need to be tech savvy to use plex and most of the people don't want to spend valuable time to troubleshoot unpolished plex.
