Man, pokemon snap was such a gem back then, anyone remember finding zapdos in that cave way back when? Also wasn't there certain shadows and patterns you could photograph that would unlock things?

yep! it was an extra quest where you had to find shadows, mountains, etc and view them from a certain angle to make them look like pokemon you could photograph! i think i just copied the solutions from my siblings back then... but it'd be cool to see a mechanic like that return!

The environmental items appeared once per course, with the first quest triggering one being on the last "standard" course (it was a rock formation that looked like Dugtrio). Once all of the objects were photographed, you unlocked the final course, with the opportunity to capture the image of Mew to film. The opening cutscene showed Todd attempting this, but without the ability to remove Mew's photo foiling barrier via a food or pester ball projectile, Todd was thoroughly foiled

The last Pokemon Snap game took 6 - 7 hours to complete? You can run through the entire game and get all 64 Pokemon pictured in like 2 hours or less. I remember replaying it soo much I could basically beat the game in like an hour.

I really like how New Pokemon Snap has references to Pokedex entries like the one with mareanie hunting corsola in their territories. It really is different from other photography-based games where there are usually limited interaction between objects. At first I was debating about buying this game next or later, but there are lots more possibility with doing 100% completion with 1-4 stars for all pokemon dex. That would be something that I could actually play for a long time instead of ditching the game. This is the type of pokemon game that I would compete the dex without needing Nintendo online to trade for a caterpie for 100% completion

I actually already pre-ordered my physical copy. My mom and me are going to share it till I buy another one for myself. That's actually what I did with my switch. I bought one for my mom, then I bought a different one for me. But until I got my own, I made my account on my mom's. Don't know if my mom's going to want a digital or a physical. Little nitpick: I think Professor Mirror should've been called "Professor Photo." It's double play-word that associates with cameras, and going with the tradition of Pokémon professors being named after plants; in this case it's short for "Photosynthesis".
