I like Map pole. Love my 901 3g. Match and power kits along short F1 kits no need to cut top kits. Everything same length (apart from short kits) so you know your feeding and fishing in exactly the same spot!

I got a MTX3 after 4 months went back to Daiwa best poles on the market plus you can always get spares.Great Video

What are your thoughts on the pole that states 15.5 metres total length that should be 16 metres. But you have to fit extension to make it 16 metres. Surely an extension is something that makes something larger than stated. Ie house extension.

Hi David Something Daiwa users have had to accept, that is why Daiwa remade the AIR into the AIR XLS which in my opinion was a disaster! The balance and over all feel of the pole was lost and hence why they returned to an extension. Feel the weighty, strong extension adds strength and weight and therefore makes the pole better balanced, I experienced the same when holding the new Colmic in Todbers pole alley. The 16mtr section is stronger than the parallel 14.5mtr section, yet if you add the 16mtr section instead of the 14.5mter section it becomes a better balanced pole. I rarely fish the graphic sections without adding the extension.

Does fitting nose cones in all sections affect weight /balance and action of pole ie air z pro?

Good question Dave, I always fit no4 n no5 nose cones as they help speed up connection and possibly slow wear n tear. Not overly keen on nose cones on every section as I do not think they flex the same as carbon does. This is just my opinion of course as I am sure there are people who swear by them.

Hi Dave, Had a look and liked that the topkits were all same length and loved the depth markers on the topkits too, but never felt as well balanced as the AIR Z PRO and rightly so as the Daiwa was £1500 more.

@@markwhibley9787 I moved to tricast the trilogy pro2 I think the pole was amazing but the topkits were terrible so went back to daiwa and luckily I kept all my inter kits I now fish with a daiwa air z and I will never mover from daises again

Very useful because i've only had mid range poles (currently Daiwa G90 & Browning Z8-3) and getting ready to take the flagship plunge. I have a question for you please ref the Maver flagship (MV-RXX) that you specifically mentioned at the beginning not making your shortlist. I understand that it was reverse engineered by copying the AIr Z, to steal the old Daiwa customers away and towards Maver (you are that target customer example). The interchangeability would mean that you could use your old kits on the new Maver (I thought - correct me if i'm wrong please). So... why did you feel that the Maver wasn't worthy of the shortlist and you couldn't make the transition that Maver have been hoping for? Is the Maver pole simply not as good as the Daiwa and the 'hyperpole' that it's claimed to be? Hope this question makes sense and I'm simply trying to learn from your hard work.

Great question! Really it was risk elimination and if I was looking to purchase in say 6mths I may well be holding the Maver at some commercial fishery in the future. The fact is I did not feel the Maver had been out long enough to really tell whether it will stand up to the trials of commercial match fishing in the Southwest of England. This may be a mistake by me, but none of us will know for a little while yet.

@@bungholebob Many thanks for your quick reply. I understand that the Maver hasn't got the proven track record (yet), but did the Maver 'feel' as good as the Daiwa on the weight/stiffness 'waggle' comparisons that you did? When can I have your old pole please? 😜
