I want to let you know about the psychology of color learned in design class. Pink/rose is a color to put people at ease. When addressing prep newbies or an urgent matter, wearing these colors or having them in the background, as that throw, can reduce the anxiety of the viewer. Back in the old days, nurses at blood donation sights would wear pink smocks, for a reason. Great video, Sunshine!

Great for new preppers. I was reading a Prepper Survival magazine the other day, and my mother-in-law said "oh are you one of those dumb & stupid people" and she said I am dumb for wasting money because I stick up every January when my grocery store has their can can sale (veggies, soups, tuna, ect) but she would be the first person knocking on my door if something happens 😠

Good advice, it's not too late, but don't wait until the bottom falls out to start building a prepping pantry. But unless yours' looks her's or even better, you may want to turn up the heat and really start to stock up. It's true it's not too late, but your starting at a disadvantage by not having started sooner. The future predictions are, massive shortages and big price increases. And the big question is, just how close is that future? It's up to you how you prep, but I don't hold back, if I see something I like or want, I'll buy 10 or more to stock my preps. My mind set is living in next year at this time. What will my preps be like to live on if only that's all there was or all I have. The future may be as soon as this summer and fall and by this time next year, it may be terrible. Instead of being calm and relaxed, it very well be time to panic a little start buying as much as you can, now that you still can.

You are SO right.. the important thing is to urge those who haven't begun prepping, to START... just start with small stuff, a few cans,, some water bottles, spices, paper goods, otc meds, ANYthing is better than being caught without. We started prepping when the Plandemic hit. I vowed that my children would never have to stand for hours in line at a grocery store and see people acting like animals. And that’s when we started watching prepping channels on KZbin and now I have built a pantry that would get us through at least Two years. Every week and we do this on one income, when my husband gets paid, we buy canned goods, canned meats, rice, beans, flour oils, and we rotate each week. Our children that are working age and a part-time jobs also contribute to the pantry/stock pile. When we see food items for a stock pile that are on sale, we purchase them and every week we purchase toilet paper and paper towels. When we receive our income tax or stimulus check last year, we did not go out and buy flatscreen TVs or luxury items we invested in our stock pile . Because when you know what hits the fan, those flatscreen TVs and those luxury items aren’t going to feed your family. Thank God we have a huge avocado tree when I was younger my dad planted the tree and he said one day things are going to get so bad and people are not going to be able to get to food but this tree will feed you. I think those of us who are prepping are grateful to channels like you, and so many others. It just saddens me that so many people are not taking things serious but I guarantee you they’re going to be the ones that are going to be banging down on our doors when SHTF!!!

The new dollartree had the small cans of chicken, so I bought 30 of them. I didn't want to be a hog, but I don't have many of them. A couple of months ago one local discount store had powdered milk. I bought 25 one pound bags, but looking back, I should have bought 50. Haven't seen it anywhere else. The 🌞 sun came out finally, and melted the sleet, but underneath it was still frozen, so my trip to town two days ago cost me a dirt hauling job to fill in two twenty foot long ruts that I made getting out of the back yard. But I can't do that either because the ground is too soupy, and more rain coming next week. I don't have room for any more food but I'm still gathering a little. I found a wind generator that I like, but it's going to cost me a bit more than I thought because I need an expensive controller too. Around$1600 for all of it. Then the added batteries will push it over two grand. So I'm saving as much as I can for that. It will be a great addition to the system. Good excuse to get four more batteries. Or six, whatever. I'm excited, but it's going to take most of my money for four months. It will be a good investment for me. An off grid cabin needs a windmill. I'm working on a portable wind charger, DC, also. It's probably around 350 watts. It's just going to be a home made thing, but I expect good results from it. Having the wind generator is going to let me use the oven more, or the hotplate etc. I should have a complete off grid system then. It's getting there. All this off grid stuff is pricey. I'm preparing for a complete grid down situation, so that I will have enough to cook or leave the electric blanket on. It's nice to not have to worry about the freezer going off. Oh, p.s. the wind generator and the charge controller are both made in the USA. I got an extra ceramic filter for the Alexapure Pro water filter last month, so last week they sent me a message saying that it was time for a new one, lol. How do they know how much water I run through it? I'm thinking, no, I just got a spare, you guys...lol

Forty years ago during the height of the Cold War friends and I who were Boy Scout leaders worked toward preparing our Scouts to follow the motto “Be Prepared”. At the time we considered ourselves to be ‘Survivalists’ and spent considerable time, money and effort toward this. These preparations have not been needed however, in spite of some falling by the wayside, I’ve been glad to have them available. Currently we are once again actively preparing. Although we suspect and hope that these preparations may not actually be needed in the next forty years. By then I expect to have lost interest.

Nice stash! in my own stockpiles I always go for the Stagg chili's over any of the soups now. For roughly the same price they have about twice as many calories. I'm also weird about ingredients and always try to avoid soy and seed oils (vegetable oil) as much as possible, and for some reason that's really difficult with the canned soups. The only ones I usually see that don't have any of that stuff in them are like $4 or $5 each.

I prefer to make and can my own for reasons like this, really prefer converting/experimenting to use dehydrated products as much as possible. Following is a starter recipe for a decent veggie broth substitute with shelf life lasting power as well as an onion soup mix. These are decent bases to build upon, imho. ------------------------------- DIY Veggie Broth Substitute ------------------------------- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast 1 tablespoon sea salt 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 dried bay leaf 1/4 teaspoon celery seed 1/8 teaspoon black pepper 6 cups water ------------------------------- DIY Onion Soup Mix ------------------------------- 3/4 Cup Minced Onion (dehydrated) 1/3 Cup Beef bullion powder 4 tablespoons onion powder 1/4 tsp celery seed (light roast, then grind) Use 2 tablespoons like 1 Packet of the Lipton stuff. I dehydrate my own onions for the minced and the powder. In doing so, I can make this slightly cheaper than buying "Lipton Onion Recipe Soup & Dip Mix". For really tasty dehydrated caramelized onions, just slice them and let them slow cook in a crock pot. The only thing I put in is a little bit of boiling water and a bunch of onions. Wait, stir, wait, stir and once caramelized I dehydrate them.

Thank you for another wonderful video! For anyone just getting into "prepping",... Now might be a great time to stop calling it prepping and call portions of it by other names. You could say that you are just 'stocking up' on things and creating a buffer in your supply chain since there are obvious issues with the supply chains. You could mention that you are paying only sale prices instead of retail by keeping a pantry. When it comes to learning new skills, call it just that. You aren't prepping... you are learning how to water bath can, learning how to pressure can, learning how to garden, process meats and fats, cook and things like that. Gossner's UHT pasteurized milk is good, but it's just UHT milk in a durable opaque container. I have been buying an alternative lately and have not noticed a difference. I suspect the amount of sales of Gossner brand and the cost of shipping it cross country has caused places like dollar stores to reconsider their local alternatives. If you live near Gossners, it's cheaper to buy it direct than from a dollar store. A lot of the cost was simply shipping. The milk you buy in the classic one gallon plastic jug in the refrigerated section at your local grocery store could be UHT in disguise. The dairy industry discovered that consumers in general don't think of milk that doesn't require refrigeration until after it's opened as highly as that which does, even if they can't taste the slight flavor change from the UHT process. Overall, consumers simply don't trust it.

Great content & message. At 54 ...myself & my gen..consider our children's gen..."the 3 day'ers".. Not at all being patronizing..but somehow with the excessive communication acquired in their gen.. No planning seemed to be the result. If you are of a certain age..our basic kitchen pantry was at minimum a 3 month supply of foods..so I think it's easier for us....we are the "slow cooker" gen..after us is the "air fryer" gen. 🤣 Both are great..but take a min to think about the comparison mindset! Hopefully your channel getting lots of newer subs..is a younger gen waking up. Maybe next will be them going back to mom & gram and finding & learning about cooking more "scratch" from basic ingredients..which is so much...cheaper & better for you.. To know the basic recipes for.. Muffins Scones Bread Pancake/waffles Popovers Cornbread Biscuits Pasta?? It's just eggs, flour & salt Pie crusts..flour salt fat ice water Basic sauces/gravy..fat, flavor, flour..liquid.. But very pleased and relieved that the young are catching on..

I have missed seeing your videos, and others. But, when you are so sick you can't focus, lol, not interested in videos. Love seeing what you show every time. Thank you.

Don't buy things you won't eat or use. If you buy dry bean learn how to cook them and find new recipes.

Oh I got it on Amazon and it was super affordable. It only fits 3 cans deep, but I found that this has been perfect for me, making it easier to rotate.

These days, unless it's aliens and zombies, wait a couple of months and that conspiracy theory is a fact. I just received more shea butter, vitamin E oil and almond oil today. I'll be making more body butter with coconut oil and lavender essential oil. I just ran out of my last batch. There are all kinds of recipes on line. I love the stuff. Thanks for all you do. Love ya.

Great info! Next time you buy those great value canned diced potatoes, look at your receipt, and see what it calls them... Ha! First time I bought those and looked at my receipt, I thought "What the heck 😳! "
