@tennisspin: can you try to check the tension after stringing compared to after stringing with your regular machine? Looks like a great machine but wonder about tension accuracy. Thanks for all the great content!
@msalvs Жыл бұрын
If it’s a matter of calibration you can easily account for any differences.

The nail clippers are for cutting string. It's honestly best tool for it because you can rest outside edges on racket and cut it and it will always be the same length cut every single time.

Been stringing for over 20 years and I own this machine and string the mains 2lbs higher due to the flying clamps . Also use a starting clamp. On knot tie offs I increase tension 10%. There will always be some tension loss, hence going up 10% on knots. Again its all preference but never felt or had a complaint about my string jobs after doing this. The machine isn’t perfect, but for the price point of a compact travelling machine its great. I also picked up this machine used but basically new for just over half the price.

you should show how accurate the tension is after the string job with that tension measuring device you have on the desk to make it more convincing

@Multisportamateur2 жыл бұрын
I’ve used a 6 mound exthree machine only with the two points because the machine was mainly used for badminton. The school that owned the stinger lost the accessories for tennis. I strung my Yonex RDS001 mid size on it and though it damaged the paint on my stick, there was no structural damage to the stick. But as an experienced stringer, avoid using this kind of string method on oversized or thicker beamed sticks as the string might rip through or crack the graphite. On most 100 sqin sticks that have a thinner beams should be all right.

Huh, I was wondering why they provided a toenail clipper as the string cutter. Makes sense that it's because of airport security requirements. Being a stringer myself, it would really suck if I had to string without a pathfinder awl or any other awls. The pathfinder awl makes it incredibly easy to guide a string through a grommet hole blocked by one or more other strings. If you don't have one available and you're stringing with a soft string, it's incredibly difficult sometimes to get that string through a blocked hole... :(

That's a neat tiny stringer but wonder how many club players need to string on the road 😁
@davidm.crispjr.96832 жыл бұрын
This looks like it's specifically for the traveling player. Not for me, but I could see the utility for those who need it. It does look like a labor intensive process compared to other stringers. Surprised it only takes 20-30 to string a racket with this stringer....

I was thinking about getting a cheap Klippermate, but then i saw this video. I've never strung a racquet before, is it worth it for me to get this Pro Stringer 2.0 machine? Can a regular novice learn how to string on it without too much problems? Or should I just go with the Klippermate?
@YJ-br7ug2 жыл бұрын

@joshuaaltmann64312 жыл бұрын

If you are going to string long term like you know you'll be playing tennis for the rest of your life, get a electronic stringing machine, if you are only going to string once a year, get the klipper
@ronalddelrosario74052 жыл бұрын
It's not that hard to learn to string using any machine really. Unless you're traveling, there's no good reason to get the Pro Stringer. Like others have already said, the Klippermate is fine for most people's needs. But if you're going to be stringing often, I'd suggest getting a crank tensioning machine (or electronic if you can afford it) instead of a drop weight. It's so much more convenient. Plus if you can't afford an electronic machine right away, you can usually replace the crank tensioner later with a Wise electronic tensioner. That's the setup I have...

Realistically tennis stringing is way way overstated. The tennis player is very anal and suffers from string-Itis. They think that having new strings every time they play is helping them. It’s not. You can use the same string for weeks or months. Generally use it until it breaks. It’s just a huge business for stringers.
@eincan13132 жыл бұрын
Agreed, but depends on the string. Gut, multi etc… absolutely play it until it breaks. Poly should be strung often as it loses its elasticity quickly and playing with dead poly can lead to arm problems. I am a string breaker and gut and multi never last more than a 2-3 days for me, however poly I will cut out even if it doesn’t break at about the 10-12 hour mark. If I play it longer I feel it.
@peruricanp2 жыл бұрын
On the contrary. While it does depend on how often you play, getting your rackets restrung every so often is needed because it does in fact affect your game. New strings will help with control, power and spin depending upon how your style of play is. The strings become dead at a certain point: all depends on how often you play tennis and for how long each day. Another thing to mention is what type of strings is the player using? Some strings lose their tension and affect a lot faster than other strings.

Having strung many racquets, I have no idea what he was doing most of the time in this video. Based on how long it was taking him to do the mains, I can't imagine it takes him under 30 minutes to string the whole racquet using this thing.
@eincan13132 жыл бұрын

@@rishijai Actually yes I have. Also always having conversations while I string. My point was with the floating clamps and the methodology needed to pull the string, while it gets the job done it is not a fast string job.
