Mark, top marks for taking the gamble. This could just be that the gearbox is due an oil change etc. Changing the box oil will be a gamble that could pay off, this is why you are prepared to buy the Car's that other's walk away from in the first place. You could still win Mark.

Hey mate. Been watching for a while and you have inspired me to enter the salvage game. My view for what it’s worth is that your maybe looking for an issue as you can’t see it as you could with a salvage car. Take a beat, let your mate check it out. Maybe run it as a daily for a bit and then decide what to do. It will work out you ALWAYS FIND A WAY!!

Hello Mark, another great video,I noticed a I on the dashboard by the fuel gauge,maybe not.probably the MAF is blocked?. thinking alot involved in this one,I would get a MOT and let we buy any car sort it that is good value.have a nice weekend.

The parking sensors are an option on the Zetec. It should have auto folding mirrors on the same option too.

Hi Mark good luck my friend I hope the gearbox is savable. I own a 1.5 tdci manual Cmax and on our website Cmax owners we read nightmares of people buying the power shift gearbox fords and having to break the cars when the box goes also the Wet belt stem from ford ecoboom engines. We always advise people never touch them or make sure the Auto box is regularly serviced as mentioned earlier the wet clutch system breaks down and the flotsam destroys the solenoids in the box. Interesting case l would flush the radiator and change the gearbox oil before taking it for an mot there maybe a filter or mesh in the auto box that just requires cleaning, l also think it’s a dealership part exchange did you check the mot history for any advisories l feel your overthinking without first investigation.

Mate, I think you've got yourself a good deal. These Ford wet clutch PowerShit (excuse the punt) require regular service every 30000 miles . It could be this car never had a gearbox service and the gear box solenoids are not functioning properly because of build up fine junk from the clutches circulating in the oil, and the oil's viscosity having progressively deteriorated over the last 9 years? If I was in your shoes, I would do a gear box service - change of oil and oil filter and take a good look at the oil that comes out and see how much fine metal cacked on the gear box plug which will be a good indication of clutch wears and box service frequency. Each gearbox service only drains about 60% of the total gear box oil. If the drained oil is quite dark, and assuming no significant clutch wears, the performance of the gear should noticeably improve after the first service. If so, then proceed to a total of three (3) oil and filter changes (with a few hundred miles drives in between) is usually recommended for a complete oil change. Severe worn clutches are less likely in the absence of a jerk / thumps on engaging of gears. Lastly, I believe you mistook the fuel gauge for the temperature one. Not a big deal. Your engine sound good for a diesel and seemed to rev OK All the best with your project and looking forward to the next progress clip

it's not overheating, the temp gauge is on the middle, the fuel gauge was higher. the gearboxes do vary depending on load and acceleration so it's probably normal.

tbh there may not be an issue, just cause its un recorded it can still be fine, dealers will put part ex's thru copart just to get rid as its not worth putting on their pitch and they already made their money off it in the sale so any extra is a bonus.

You have mixed up the temp gauge with the fuel gauge the fan relays are known to fail on fords and some models also like fiesta will always have the fan on as long as the aircon is turned on so try it with the aircon off

Your over thinking it, the car is over 10 years old. Main dealers don't sell old cars on their forecourts, just put them through the auctions. If it's unrecorded, I believe this is just none collision damage, and I'm sure they must get some sort of tax relief by disposing of the car this way. If your worried about the condition of the car, put it through an MOT and sell through We buy any car. No brainer to me, if you get a couple of days wages out of sell the car, for the cost of a battery and an MOT, you have done well

I would put a mot on the car and stick the old battery back on and just take it down to we buy any car will make a great video as well . When I see you had a powershift coming up on Instagram I was interested as we had a brand new galaxy for 3 years and we never got on with the auto box , but what a great price you got the car I bet it went to a dealers who see the engine light on and just put it in to sell .
