Wow, this was my favorite bike! It was actually my ten year older brothers bike, became mine when i fell out of love with my raleigh Burner BMX, and all the cool kids were getting the new fangled 'mountain' bikes, mine had the same rack, and the upper brake extensions, great long distance bike, AND you can get your knee down on it! 😅

TI was a company which was a leader in the field of steel tubing (and would have been a supplier to Raleigh) it stood for Tube Investments. Not sure what happened to them. Good luck with the bike

Looking forward to seeing this one Bobby, keeping these old bikes on the road is vital I'd hate to see all the old steel bikes turned into single speed or just left to rot. There's way to much bike snobbery now this bikes worth this, that bikes worth nothing, it's a seventies Raleigh, it's got history maybe even some boys Xmas present all those years ago , who cares what it's worth... This is my hobby also and there's nothing better than setting them back on the road to ride again 👍👍

Looks very poverty spec but at least bicycle fashion is currently back with 1x drivetrains at least for mountain bikes. I did have a Raleigh Arena as my first ever new bike. If I remember rightly it was £62 from Halfords this looks like a bike 1 model down from that.

bonzobanana1 I had this meteor as my first new bike, not counting homemade ones from scrap parts, because I was then too small for the arena that I really wanted. So I thought the meteor was a smaller model for us younguns, but you might be right it might have been a lower spec as well.
