Man.. Oh MY, The Hand of the Rising Sun is stunningly gorgeous. What a beautiful piece of artwork whose beauty is only matched by its deadliness. I love, absolutely LOVE the visuals on that perfect, singular page describing the weapon and all it entails with a centerfold drawing that is simply majestic. Everything on that page adheres perfectly with every other part, and all those parts tie together with such natural fluidity and flow. Each part of the page, both descriptive and visual, adds so much without ever sacrificing an ounce of the cohesiveness. And the depiction of the sky lantern, at its peak height, in the center so perfectly encapsulates the creativity and how truly awe-inspiring this project is. This central visual went above and beyond the core purpose of visualizing the weapon and how it would be used; but this visual is truly a successful piece of storytelling with such attention to detail that you can understand the emotions and the fear that the enemy soldiers are feeling at that moment, and in that picture I feel the artist truly captured the essence of the entire game of Sekiro and took it even further with a weapon so unbelievably beautiful yet deadly, awe-inspiring yet also inducing a sense of dread for the confused soldiers blinded by a weapon so complex and fleshed out that they will likely be dead within seconds of the scene at hand. Not to mention the immaculate attention to detail that helped flesh out the believability of the weapon and establish its presence in the world of Sekiro. Looking at this image brings me back to the enthralling opening cutscene to Sekiro. I feel drawn in and heavily invested instantly by this portrait, akin to the grippingly powerful hold the game itself had on me. Every choice for this page is masterful, from visual perspective, to setting portrayal and the narrative weight given to the weapon. It truly invokes the sense of awe that playing Sekiro for the first time also invoked within me. And with Sekiro being one of my all-time favorite video games, that is a truly difficult fear to accomplish. But there is one visual choice that I truly love above all others in this picture; a choice which commands innate respect for how effectively it was executed & portrayed. And it affected me instantly from a subconscious level, drawing me into the painting on first glance and holding me there as it truly invested me in the world it built. That choice was too place the perspective of the painting at roughly the same eye level as one of the enemy soldiers that Sekiro is descending upon. It instantly directs your brain to struggle and try decipher the confusing situation that you are in with the perspective of an enemy soldier. Those soldiers do not have a fold out page detailing the complex and nuanced, yet well developed and coherent design of The Hand of the Rising Sun. They had just been attacked, and within a split second of that initial attack they were already being blinded from above by a Giant-Floating-Lantern-wielding Shinobi. Upon first viewing this portrait, I felt as though I were in the shoes of a third enemy soldier trying to prepare for an incoming attack like no other. And while my compatriots and I desperately tried to see through the blinding light and prepare for the Shinobi descending upon us from above, I can feel the speed and deadliness of the danger at hand. My vision begins to restore for a split second as one of my comrades is plucked from the sky and killed by the Shinobi. My sight returns just long enough to meet the gaze of my equally perplexed gaze. The Shinobi redraws his Lantern as quickly as he withdrew it to kill my ally, and he reaffixes the blinding light upon us as the reality of how grave our situation is sets in. Like a Hawk, or an Owl, masterfully plucking its confused, unprepared prey out of existence, my only other friend and ally is stripped of his mortal coil. We never stood a chance, and I truly feel BOTH the dread of the soldiers AND the unmatched prowess & deadly might of the Wolf Shinobi and his Hand of the Rising Sun. Absolute art. Absolute mastery. Absolute awe-wrenching beauty.

Thank you for hosting the contest Vaati. Thanks to you I was able to do a deep research on my family (Hirata) which I had never once done before. It was a deep learning experience to me for which I'm really grateful.

Blown away by the creativity, imagination and talent here. Also impressed at how (relatively) quickly you went through all the entries and showcased them. Definitely going to be following a bunch of these artists.

This is what I have to think to not throw up when KZbinrs says their are "Creators". The fact that you motivate this many artists to create this kind of works makes you an important KZbinr and human being. You are a true creator and this channel is a grain of sand to make this a better world. This challenge have been amazing! Thanks

Scroll of the Deep Sea would be SO cool to see in a DLC (even if it didn't tie Bloodborne and Dark Souls into Sekiro's universe)

I absolutely hate this video because now I want every single one of these in Sekiro! A well made video, and absolutely wonderful work done by the artists.

I’m honestly speechless at the creativity of these designs. Coming up with a unique weapon or gadget is one thing, but going so far as to illustrate it or even model it is incredible. Everyone who submitted something has my respect

@@حسينالمنصوري-ح5ت Yuki's Ghost Blade. In the video @0:33. I followed the rules to the max and created an attachment to the arm, as it's in the game, with a simple design, based on a old japanese legend and a japanese tool. It's a bit sad to see that people who completely made up new arms (not following the rules and the game mechanics, I could make a crazy looking thing too) got into the top10, but I'm cool either way. I had lots of fun and I'm hyped for the game. :)
