YOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Thanks for the shoutout lads! So yeah those Sensah shifters are big and ugly, but like Jimmi said, they are actually pretty comfortable. And because of the size, they do have a sort of robust/reassuring feel on the bike. When I first got them out of the box, I was worried about the lever throw too, but on the bike it's not too bad. Def not for small hands, but if you can get to grips with it, well worth it. I was INCREDIBLY impressed, especially for the price. 2 pieces of advice, the cable loop out the back of the bike needs to be pretty large to get accurate shifting, and when bleeding, you will need 2 syringes. The standard shimano bleed funnel doesn't fit. Anyway, good luck gents! - *_Detective Trace_* 😎

Loved riding my Redshift Sports Kitchen-sink cockpit - complete with front loop, top and bottom grips. Made it so comfy with multiple hand positions when I rode Brussels - Sweden - Brussels last year. I'm now really interested in the clip on aero bars... RedShift certainly are great "out of the box" thinkers!

I think Jimmy is a mixed blessing for businesses that send in products for review. He just says his honest first impressions with no filter and then gives a frank analysis. How much are consumer purchase choices influenced by impressions as opposed to critical thinking (like you’d get by an outfit like Consumer Reports)? I can imagine the marketing people wincing as he handles their product and tells it like it is from his perspective. His analysis is insightful and useful.

Might be helpful info: the ShockStop Stem and ShockStop seat post from RedShift are very helpful for folks with small tire clearance or chronic nerve pain (like me) from multiple sclerosis. The small amount of relief is super appreciated for those without larger tires (run at low pressure) to help with rough roads. Their pedals are an insane idea... great company and Erik is the nicest supportive guy.

I wonder how much practical difference there is compared to just having regular cateyes/reflectors on the paddles plus a blinking rear light somewhere else on the bike.
@davidgarza2267
@davidgarza2267 Жыл бұрын
Same. One light on the seatpost, one on seatstay, and one on back of helmet. If drivers can't see that, I don't think the pedals will make much of a difference.
@squngy0

@@davidgarza2267 I dont have as many lights as you, just one high quality one. However, I do have a bunch of reflectors, because I bought a roll of reflector sticky tape and just pasted it in lots of places, including my helmet (btw, why dont all helmets have reflectors by default?)
@nluisa
@nluisa Жыл бұрын
The other plus of reflectors is they don't need charging. It sounds as if those pedals have 4 lights that need topping up and non of them will light up the road ahead

Those food things would also be good in the food pouch on the handlebars, I don't like food loose in the food bag so use zip lock bags... can be tricky to get into while riding. The large one would work nicely.

Assuming you're talking about feed bags that fit water bottles and attach to bar and stem? If so, get an old water bottle an cut it down to the height you want, keeps everything clean. Cut a slot a cm or two lower than the lip to make it easy to pull out of the pouch.

I do love the top grips and especially the kitchen sink handlebar. I have the widest one on my dropbar mountainbike and it's like having a mountain bike handlebar with all the control on technical sections, but I still ride in with my hands on the drops :)

Great video! If microspline driver is hard to find for the super nice gravel project there maybe a XD mounting cassette. I use a cassette from e13 (but there are other companies) on my 27.5/650b gravel wheels with XD driver and a Shimano 11 sp drive train. On a side note maybe add a monthly episode of "Jimmy unbound" where he rants for 5 mins about life the universe and everything bikes. :) If he goes over 5 min just cut him off mid-sentence!

Hi guys. I have been using redshift products on my Gravel bikes for tears. They are permanent... I am originally a mount biker, so I take my gravler on trails as well. Consider that in South Africa we have wonderful trails and massive Gravel roads. I use the widest kitchen sink bars with all the trimmings and suspension seat post and stem. My friend is using an ultra light ninner hard tail as a long distance Gravel bike, because of the redshift suspension seat post. I see that they are now being used by many Gravel and adventure cyclists. I have been following your journeys for so many years. Keep it going. Don't forget to take on Cape Pioneer trek and Cape Epic... 😊

I just bought the handlebar bag but haven't had a chance to test it out. Please test the two position seat on the bike with the handlebar with the loop.

If you like fancy lights that move, I used to have a monkey light on my commuter. Goes on the wheel and creates patterns on the wheel as it goes around. Only draw back is that the bike wobble when doing maintenance and sinning the wheel.

I've had the dual-position sitpost almost since it first came out years ago... but I never quite got it to work. For my physiology the difference between the two positions seem just too big. Their stem, you thought you had a flat the first 30 seconds you put your weight on it, but then you forget it being there, which is great. The Sensah stuff - if it's matt black it probably look a lot better. I'm eagerly awaiting your review gents.
