It’s crazy that the ps4 Pro supported 1440 60. We expected the PS5 to run 4K 60 with no problem yet we still playing upscaled 4K games. The box listed 8k gaming which was laughable. Basically the potential either was never reached or Sony lied.

What game was 1440p 60fps on PS4 Pro? I know PS4 Pro was 1440p 30fps. PS5 Pro is doing PSSR( like DLSS) to get to 8k 60fps. We all got 4k TV so it would Super Sample the image.

Let's even ignore the part were the PS4 Pro had only a few games that really hit high resolution. A lot of games just had checkerboard rendering.

I bought the Ps4 pro and the Xbox one x and of course I'm getting the ps5 Pro. People don't understand that you're not going to see the difference unless you're in front of the tv, so watching compressed videos on youtube and pictures from Digital Foundry will not give you the whole picture the only time they will see it is if your at one of their friends house or in a store like best buy were you put a regular ps5 right next to the pro doing comparison I will say sony doesn't understand how to advertise this product because that is the reason so many people are not even looking at the other side of the fence the grass is greener but people are like are you sure.

@@WelcomeWithinMyDream think about it, the pro is 700 with 2 tb rights, and you don't have to choose between the two modes. The older models have 1 tb and from what I'm seeing not only that it's actually 800 gb you get plus you gotta choose which mode to play with. If you're a guy who buys, 10 to maybe 20 games you're going to run nto a storage problem, or you're going to have to keep deleting memory to make room for new software. You buy a slim for 500 plus you gotta buy a new SD card for 200 for 2 tb your at seven hundred anyways........at this point you might as well buy the pro. Now if you already own a previous ps5 I suggest you just hunker down. But I'll say just buy the pro with 2 tb for 700 and just go all digital. Then to buy a slim for 500, and end up having to upgrade to SD for 200 which puts you at 700 hundred. First time buyers are better off getting the pro.

Well once digital foundry continues to drop videos constantly on how powerful the ps5 pro is, especially with newer games like GTA6 and then take back all the negative things they said about the pro prior to its release than that’s when people will realize how big of a difference there is. But once again….people are not being forced to upgrade, if you afford than good, if you can’t than just stick with the ps5.

There is a big difference in terms of hardware. The issue is that software this generation isn't demanding enough to take advantage of it. So yes, the PS5 pro isn't worth it for many people. But it's not because the hardware is bad for its price. There's just not enough software to take advantage of it.

Realistically speaking, these minor visual upgrades will be completely lost on the majority of customers while they’re actually _playing_ a game. Pretty much all the graphical comparisons Sony demonstrated had the player character standing completely still with the camera locked to a specific direction. I can’t speak for everyone, but I personally keep my hands on the controller while playing games.

I'ts not minor. Overall you'll see games with more ray tracing, and running at 60dfps with higher resolution while PS5 is at 30 or 60 with low graphics.

It depends on the game and the TV you have and even the distance you sit on. For example if you have a decent size 4K Tv and you put Final Fantasy Rebirth at 60fps on the normal PS5 and PS5 Pro then the difference will be obvious as day because the whole screen looks like it has an extra layer of Vaseline compared to the image the PS5 Pro gives. Is like the whole game came back from a P.Diddy party while the PS5 Pro is sharp and clean. So no matter how you move and play you will see it. While if you put Astrobot or Spiderman or Ratchet and clank you will have to look for details and while you play even if you notice a little it will still be nothing that leaves a clear impression. It will be more like "yeah it felt like it was more impressive looking but i can't quite put my finger on it" type of thing so barely any big loss if you play it on normal PS5.

People forget that in order to achieve these graphics with the fps boost… you’ll need a tv or monitor that supports it. Majority of console players simply won’t notice. Most don’t even have tvs that have HDR. Me personally, as someone who has a tv that is too good for a ps5, I literally cannot tell the difference between fidelity and performance or performance RT besides the slight drop in fps. I mainly play the spider man games and God of war games and I will tell you as god as my witness… you cannot tell the difference between fidelity and performance. so the argument of combining both just isn’t enough to justify imo. I also have a regular ps5 which it only looks better but also has dark plates which are so much better and better looking

Probably much more than that, especially if you want something upgradable for the future, which anyone with common sense would. You're not going to get a Zen 2 CPU to match the Pro specs. You'd want something on the AM5 platform (or whatever equivalent for Intel chip) for a new PC at this point, which drives the price up if you are building a real rig rather than a hypothetical build.

I think consoles like the PS5 and and Xbox Series X are stuck on a weird place in terms of power were ether it feels like they are enhancing old non next-gen games or that they are collapsing under the weight of the new graphical engines. Is like demanding games were at level 4 and 5 the last few years and PS4 was level 4 and struggling with 5 but Ps5 is level 6 so it can clear those demanding level 5 easy but feel like it has more to show due to being level 6 and still isn't used for true next gen but the next engines of demanding games are at level 7 and 8 so when they get going fully suddenly the PS5 will feel not good enough so it never gets to be satisfying enough.

There is huuuge difference in that game. is just that you people don't get that there is no way you are gonna see what he is seeing threw a compressed KZbin video threw a camera recording a screen. Most of the visual info is lost. Seeing this things in person and in KZbin videos is not even remodly the same. Digital foundry zooms in etc because they want to show you the detail that can't be seen threw KZbin. You think. "Yeah ok you guys are zooming in etc i can see it but i am not gonna be pixel hunting while i play" but that is not it. They zoom in to show you what you could see if you weren't watching threw KZbin and whatever screen you have but actually seeing it threw a big 4K TV in-frond of you because when you actually have the Tv and you actually connect it you can see what they have to zoom in to show you right there in-frond of you.

I have a standard disc drive PS5 that I stand vertically on my desk. So to get a comparable experience, I'd have to pay for an external disc drive AND a vertical stand pushing the price to over 800USD. At that point, an admittedly solid graphical leap isn't nearly worth a $300 price jump.

I disagree. I have a 4080 pc pre built but generally game on my ps more and def will get a pro. I just prefer gaming on console I work all day on computers and I find more issues with pc games when it's just pick up and play on console. Shader comp studder in some games for instance, or the memory leak affecting the recent god of war ragnarok pc port, issues ive never had on console. Pc gaming has its merits but gaming on the big screen in the family room id always pick a console

PS5 with 600gb is released around 500 USD, but this one with 2TB and way more processing power for 700 makes sense to me. I know they excluded disc drive, but to me personally, the digital editions costs cheap during sale. I am a kind of guy who wants to share console to anyone around me who wants to play, so I keep the games with me.

i've spent like 1200$ on a 4k tv and when i play my PS5 it can't get to 60 fps on 4k mode so usually I reduce it to performance mode so that I can enjoy smooth gameplay for me this is the point where I decided to get a ps5 pro so that I can get a full experience.

Sony: Lets drop a PS5 Pro console and price people out the ass at $700. While doing this we're not going to include a stand, (that'll cost you an additional $30) and its not going to have a disc version, (if you want an attachable disc accessory you have to pay up $80). It's not worth the $700 price tag. If I want to play Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and Grand Turismo 7 I'll play them on my HP OMEN 45L gaming PC that shits on the PS5 Pro! A massive fail from Sony.
