What kind of sleeper are you? I switch back and forth from my side to my stomach. I did the trial period on a purple premier 3" and slept really good. No more back pain! I did ended up returning it due to some shoulder pain though. I feel like if your paying that much, you shouldnt be feeling ANY pain. I figured I try to 4" but now I'm hearing It might be too soft for stomach sleepers. It sucks cause, going back to my old mattress. The first night I slept on it all of my back pain came back. I do miss the purple mattress alot but I'm still in search for the perfect one. Hopefully i dont have to decided between having back pain to having shoulder pain.

I personally really loved the .3 at the store the most but I need a king and could not afford almost $4k for a mattress so we went with the purple plus, which might not have existed when you got yours considering you commented over 2 years ago

This is such a great video! Good job guys! And just for reference for anyone else looking to buy. My husband and I bought the Purple .2 mattress. He’s 5’10” 180pounds and I’m 5’4” and about 140 pounds and that mattress is heaven for us! We enjoy sleeping on a more firm bed, so we chose the .2. We also tried the purple .3 & .4 and noticed that the higher in number the beds went, the softer they were. But still all extremely comfortable and not like any other mattress out there!

I'm 53 years old and 151 lbs. I have the purple 3 and love it. My Husband is 182 and it supports him quite well. The only problem is moving it. Why didn't Purple put handles on it???

Handles on a mattress are only for rotating it. If they had handles and you tried to move the bed by the handles they would rip off. I use to deliver beds.

I'm so glad to hear you're no longer experiencing your back and side pain. Bed of jello, ha! I thought Purple would feel like sleeping on rubber bands, but it was surprisingly comfortable. I've been to try all four models in a store or crashing at friend's/family members' place. I like the cover of the Original the best. The hybrids' cover is so thin that I can feel the grid from the hyper-elastic polymer, which creates too much pressure on my side. As a plus-size sleeper who likes a firmer feel, I liked the Purple.3 best. I'm a diehard memory foam lover though, so Purple wasn't the right feel for me. I get the appeal though. I agree that the right mattress is worth investing in. I spent two years mattress searching. I felt like I was putting the Princess and the Pea or Goldilocks to shame. I tried a ton of different mattresses, looking for a more affordable alternative to Tempur-pedic. None of them worked or helped my pain issues. Then, last month, I was able to get a new queen Tempur-pedic Contour Elite Breeze for 50% off, which has been my dream mattress for years. It's AMAZING! It's so relieving not wake up in pain. It's probably not the best for sex, but I'm chronically single anyway. 🤣

i had the 4 , swapped down to a 3 because the 4 ended up being too soft for me. my lower back is sensitive.

@@whatwhat right now me and my significant other love it. It does wear in (soften) where you sleep. we've rotated it and can still notice the middle is more stiff than where we sleep. Every other bed we have laid on seems too hot or uncomfortable now

@@stephengrinaker5085 thank you, I just got a Purple 3 and love the support it has for my back and hips that are in recovery from an injury last year. I do wish it was a little bit softer and am intrigued by the Purple 4 but am not sure it would provide the same level of support. My back is pretty sensitive too, it sounds like I just need to keep sleeping on my 3 and let it break in a little bit.

It's holding up great! We went to North Carolina last October for a week and slept on hotel beds and when we finally got home to our own bed it was like brand new all over again.

Using a box spring automatically voids your warranty... If you use any base that isn't similar to the Purple base(platform with metal or wood slats)or none at all,they will not replace your bed when it sags due to improper care. You need to properly take care of it from day one or else it won't last as long. So buy a water proof mattress cover,good sheets,and don't misuse it. I bought mine from clearance so I only have the 10 year warranty but I don't regret it at all! I just made sure to take pictures of my base and keep the records to prove it. Then I took photos of the bed and will take photos every year. :) I got the hybrid 4 premium at 50% off at a purple approved seller. Someone had returned it before their 100 days was up so we got it after it had been sterilized.

I was thinking about getting a $1200 Purple 4 Twin XL on eBay but ended up getting a new Purple 3 Twin XL direct from Purple because of the warranty and return policy.

IMO the Purple 3 or 2 would work better for you. Stomach sleeping isn't good on the 4.

She looks pretty skinny which works with the #4... people that are overweight and sleep on there stomach will not work because your mid section will sink in on the #4 and your back will be bent backwards.

Technically you shouldn't need to, due to the purple grid not sagging, etc... My habit and thinking about the coils I would probably try to rotate (they weigh 200+lbs).

I had high hopes for the Purple 4 to not cause hip pain at night. Even though it felt amazing to lay on I had to add 4 inches of extra foam for my hips to not hurt. Since I had to add all 4 inches to 14 inches, I decided to trade it for an Original. I have yet, to add enough padding for my hips not to hurt. You'll notice in the videos that they do the Egg Test on the uncovered grid and all of the other mattresses in their take-home state. I'd like to see the EggTest on a Purple mattress, not just the grid. I bet it would not pass they ET. THAT'S A CHALLENGE TO YOU, PURPLE.

Hey I'm getting a purple 2, but I'm using an my old full futon frame, do you think the frame can support the purple? Plus I'm a big dude 280+, and the frame has been holding up fine, but the purple mattress seems to be much heavier than my old futon mattress.

You can only find out if your frame can handle it via the manufacture info. Not all frames are built the same. The purple mattress is heavier than your average mattress.

We have never used the Purple frame, but we bought this specific one because of the height and storage compacity. It has an extra 5" of clearance.

One awesome feature of the Purple frame is no bolts, no screws. You just slide in the braces, then lay the slats in their pre-grooves spots.

Does the mattress slide on that Zinus frame? I had the OG purple and it slid everywhere on a different metal platform frame that I had. I had to push it back at least twice a day or there would be a gap between the wall and the top of the mattress.

It is expensive but when you think about the fact that you spend nearly half your life sleeping, it makes sense to invest in a good mattress. We used to wake up feeling like 80 year old people with our old pillow top Serta.

Seems like this mattress is way too bouncy. Not good. They really needed to add some memory foam. Glad I didn't waste $3,000 on this thing, or the hassle of returns

Well they have several different opinions, as chose the softest one they had. You might want to check out the Helix mattress, we have a video on that one too. We were huge fans of it once we got used to the firmness of it.

@@whatwhat "Options." No, they all have the same feel because they're made out of the same purple hyper elastic polymer which is bouncy. Josh, u did say that the Original may be the only one that doesn't have as much bounce but it is firmer and I don't like firm

I don't know about the mattress, because I haven't received it yet, but I had or still have a horrible experience buying a mattress from purple, if you are in Canada, from my own personal experience DO NOT buy from this company, they are not releasing my mattress from customs nor canceling my order so I can buy another mattress...
