I have my wagons rear wiper sprayer hooked up so when I hit the switch originally for the rear glass, it sprays the intercooler for some extra evaporatorative cooling, I'm positive you could do something similar to the ride like just to the radiator.. just a thought..

PFI is not the place for Bosch Med ECU tuning. Take it to a euro shop. Scr in Loveland or bluewater performance in Denver. These cars are quite different to tune from JDM and domestic so you want to use someone who "specializes" in German cars. There is like 1200 torque management tables.

Idk why you wanna run without a thermostat. The point of the thermostat is to close and allow the coolant in the radiator, to cool before it opens and allows it to circulate. People get really confused with thermostats too, a hotter thermostat allows the coolant in the radiator to sit longer and get colder before entering the block. A cooler thermostat means the coolant circulates more often meaning less time to cool off. A 195 thermostat in the van would almost guaranteed, solve the heating issue since it likes to cruise at 185.

If u dont have a thermostat in it put one back in to make sure the coolant isn't passing through the rad to fast to cool. And make sure u don't have a gap between the intercooler and rad. The air will travel out of that gap and really decrease air flow to the rad. Good luck on the trip and race week. Hope u guys achieve everything u set out to do.

Hey guys, hope you see this in time. To help with the cooling situation I would suggest getting another fuel cell and temporarily mounting it the van somewhere and run some hoses from it up to the engine bay to increase water capacity while you drive and then have it so it’s removable when you get to the track. It will make all the difference and should be able to set it up real quick. Best of luck guys

on the radiator shroud put some flap vents so when rolling down the road they open up and allow some more air flow. just the hole for the fan could be choking the radiator a little. they do that on a lot of new cars. it may help

Kyle you either need a thermostat, or you need to make a 7/8” restrictor in place of the thermostat. I run a FWD circle track series, 90% of which are built Honda’s. We’ve all fought overheating issues and found these are the best combinations. Like this so Kyle can see it!

Set up a cheap watersprayer for the radiator/intercooler - get any washer bottle with single/dual sprayer motors in it, and run it off a boost switch like the WRX/STi set up, cheap and effective.

You need to make ha shroud/duct between bumper and intercooler and intercooler and radiator so the air passes thru and not to the sides. That will help alot. Some carboard and aluminium tape goes a long way until it rains :)

I know when I was younger guys would throw a few washers in between their hood and hinges to raise the back of the hood up a tad on their drift cars. Would help keep the car cooler because it gives the hot air in the bay somewhere to escape, just a thought. I would prob look into the cooling system a tad more before you head off mate, just to be safe.

Go put a 185* thermostat and drill a 1/8" hole in it. When your pulling a hard load the coolant flow throw the radiator tends to flow to quickly without a t-stat and you will overheat. A t-stat will slow the flow down enough to allow heat transfer to occur. In the old days guys would remove the t-stat and install a restrictor plate for this reason. The 1/8 will aide in bleeding the air out of the system.

Could rig a sprayer from a windshield washer pump on the radiator to bring down the temperature and have a vent for the heater core that vents outside the van. Wire the radiator fans to a toggle so you can cool it when its off along with the fans programed to come on at 165.

Kyle might need to add an electric water pump. If he can get one , a high flow thermostat .Or perhaps a water spray on the rad to keep temps down. He could also either vent the hood so that hot air can escape better or take the hood off and strap it to the roof rack. Besides I think the turbo might be eating hot air straight out of the rad as well. I hope he has a proper filter to fit over the turbo when the van is on the road. I agree with some of the other comments about a larger radiator being needed , but I don't think Kyle has enough time or space to add a larger unit. So he's going to need to make the one he has as efficient as possible. At least he's keeping a good eye on the temps so he doesn't cook the thing.

Might want to run a new thermostat so the water flow slows long enough in that rad to cool the coolant so when it goes back into the engine it helps keep it cool also id run a couple bottles of water wetter in it as well we run them in our dirt cars and it helps a lot. great job with the van good luck with race week have fun and be safe....

The issue is the front of the radiator is not shrouded to pull fresh air. So the front of the radiator is pulling air from the engine bay and heat soaking the cooling system. That radiator has cooled my old turbo ls set up. It is definately enough radiator you just have to maximize the efficiency of it.

Put a mister on the radiator use a windshield washer bottle and motor. They work great keeping everything cool.

Hook up a windshield washer pump and direct spray it onto the radiator for the road drive, hell you could even hav the reservoir with ice in it and pump in the cab and plug it into the cigarette socket(if it works) when needed then take it out when on the track
