Those things were designed to run very warm for my tastes. If I remember correctly the stock fan turn on temp was like 218 or something crazy like that.

Throw some timing in it and I agree the idle is low . That will help . 210 is quite normal for modern cars for emissions and fuel economy.

They say they do run hot. My fan was kicking on at 228 degrees and then drop to 208 and start heating up again. So, I charged the A/C and the fan now kicks on at 180, but sometimes still gets up to 200 - 205 when running in town. On the highway, it always runs around 180- 185. I have a 1985 C4 with 34,000 miles on it. Runs really strong, chirps 2nd gear a lot, and a lot of fun to drive. Its an Automatic and like brand new inside and out of the car. Going to change the antifreeze in it and see it the temp changes. Love your car. :)

Put a couple bottles of water wetter in it that will help a few degrees

If it's anything like my Firebird the real problem of overheating is when it's sitting still. Makes it so hot eventually Burns transmission up, the fans sometimes won't even kick on till 220 -230

If you know a gm tuner most can go in an tune the fan to come on sooner . I would stick a 195 stat back in it most injected cars will continue to try an change fuel ratio to make it get up to temperature that it programmed for so will in turn make the car not run correctly.

My friends dad bought a 92 when they came out with the lt1 again it was quick for back then. But he couldn't beat my other buddies 13.80 79 Trans am close race though

The gauges are an eye strain and that's putting it mildly my friend. Please dear God, never make me look at them again! lol Love the content and car too, hate the gauges. Keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep watching.

Put a piece of black electrical tape over the gauge. Then you won’t worry about it.

Should have gotten a Chevy truck with the tires and motor of that junk ride😂 honesty I don't like the tires 😢 drag and drive much better in a truck 🕊️❤️
