My wish is to meet Gregg. He is a musical genius. I'm from Michigan not far from Grosse Pointe & hope one day to meet him. This song got me thru the loss of my newborn son, the father of that son dumping me. The death of my best friend who was killed in a snowmobile accident 8 months before my son was born. I went thru it all alone. My ex husband who used to beat me & taking me to court weekly to try to control me after it took me 10 years to find an attorney to take my divorce case, since his dad was powerful in our small Michigan town. I dared to leave his drunk, abusive son! I work as an RRT & my job is beyond stressful. I was diagnosed with SLE given 2 to 5 years to live. All in one year. 1998 to 1999 was a horrific time for me. I played this song non stop as I walked to relieve the stress. Played it on the way to work & home from work. This song is my anthem. I can't thank Gregg enough for these words. I'm still standing. Stronger but wiser & happier than I should be allowed. "I've got the music in me."

Everything about this song, the words, sentiment, and its uplifting key choices just makes me smile. But more so because of the freshness of the sound 20 plus years later. The lead singer's voice sounds in such great condition and he completely honoured the original 👏👏👏

This song sends me back in 1999. This song is part of my life. It sends me back in time, 1999. When I hear this song I remember of good times in my life, what I was doing, my friends, my city João Pessoa in Brazil. I wish to go back in time to relive every single moment over again. It makes me cry in thinking that those good days are gone and I won't have em back. 😪

My only complaint here: they missed off the ending. Apart from that, great performance and good to see the band do this brilliant song again! The importance of the lyrics goes over most people’s heads, I’m glad I finally understand the significance of this cynical song 👍🏼

Eh I hear you/I noticed that too, but I suppose if we wanna go by the sentiment that their regrouping to perform this song was meant to be a positive act/reunion, then the "diss track" aspect of the ending kinda conflicts with that/seems to be beating a dead horse now... back when this song came out, I suspect that those lyrics-- for better or for worse-- were kind of a calculated way to get attention that the song might not have if it didn't include them?? I seem to recall a 12/2/98 interview w/ Alexander where he implied that he WAS a fan of those he dissed (he didn't mention Beck) & wanted them to get exposure; Manson responded saying of Alexander that he should "crack his skull open if I see him." Me personally, while I liked Courtney Love's 2nd album, as a Nirvana fan, I didn't like how she used widow Cobain's unreleased songs as leverage to get out of her contract with her record label, BUT I'd rather hear more recordings by Cobain than most anything by Courtney Love. And while I've also enjoyed Manson's music too, in light of the numerous allegations from ERWood & other exes, ex-band members/mentors etc (incl. Trent Reznor who basically launched his career), I say F him & any of his overcompensating insecurities. So yeah... positivity I guess? Ha.

I'm surprised that there aren't more comments (the ones that are here are a great acknowledgment though) about how excellent the whole album is that this came from (and Gregg's solo efforts before it). Absolutely amazing and original songs for 1998. Gregg is a musical master, and far more than the man behind this "one hit wonder".
