1) The RAF does not use this drone, this was a test. The person who made this article probably confused it with the "Jackal" lightweight armoured car used by the RAF for rapid paratroop deployment. 2) The Jackal Drone is made and designed by FlyBVLOS in Turkey (which is the current world leader in combat drones). The missiles are, however, British and if I'm not mistaken the UK-based company "Flyby Technology" essentially purchased the Jackal from Turkey and re configured it to be able to fire the missiles seen here.

The Turkish made British drone. Turkish Fly BVLOS Technology introduces an armed version of the Jackal UAV, that it has developed entirely with equity capital in Turkey and exported to the UK on April 25, 2022.

Turkey was able to circumvent a US export ban on killer drones with the help of a missile component first developed in the UK, allowing Ankara to become an emerging power in the lethal technology, which experts warn is dangerously proliferating )) yes and no.
@poppinc8145
@poppinc8145 Жыл бұрын
@@wharfedale831 There's no "yes and no". Jackal is literally a Turkish drone produced by Fly BVLOS and was sold in April 2022 to the UK. It was merely modified in cooperation with its UK partner Flyby Technologies to fire missiles which was then tested in October 2022 in front of the RAF. IDK which Turkish UCAV you mean that has the UK-designed component, or whether it's all of them, but having a foreign component doesn't make it a foreign drone or co-production. Turkey has the full export rights to its popular UCAVs such as the TB2, Akinci, Anka, etc and there's never been an export permit required of the UK. Many of the countries that the UCAVs have been sold to could never buy UK weapons themselves. Meanwhile, Fly BVLOS owns the IP to the Jackal overall and therefore Turkey controls its export permit.

In 1930, airplane piloting was semi-automated. Who doesn’t believe in drones? In fact, whether it can be achieved depends entirely on political will, how much money and time developed countries are willing to invest in research, and whether bureaucrats will deliberately obstruct it. After the end of the Cold War, funding cuts by various countries caused military research to stagnate. To make such a fuss over something like this is just a matter of low cultural standards.

At this size I wonder how mucb heat it's producing. The great thing about commercial drones is they're small and give off next to no heat, meaning it's incredibly difficult to kill one with IR missiles. With something this big however, it'll be producing a lot more heat. Not to mention it's radar cross section is probably detectable. Making it an easy target for radar assisted AAA
